Also on smartphone right now so probably mobile link hehe. These are also sold on etsy by the way but I noticed they are a bit cheaper on taobao and I was getting more stuff so figured I'll just buy them from taobao instead of etsy.

 

And more pictures to look at! Maybe there are also some with the normal MDD body next to the mochi-ashi one?

In the twitter thread from Hs_dLs, they say the hand parts are new and that it's likely a new Deka Hand for MDD, so yes!  They also say the Deka Hands come standard with the new MDD Mochi-Ashi body.

That can't be right. SD sized shoes are big on a DD, so they'd be enormous on anything MDD sized.

I agree (why are doll shoes always such a struggle to look natural!?), but that's definitely what they seem to think in the tweet.  *I can't believe that would be true, honestly, but who knows.  Maybe they're wider, or this person just misunderstood/mis-remembered the information given when they asked.

I wonder if you could figure out the size of the feet using the wooden base of the stand as a guide...

I think someone said SD, and they were really referring to one of the smaller resins like MSD or YoSD. YoSD would be too small I think.

Should be able to figure it out just by comparing it with a picture of an MSD on that same type of stand.

Thank you! The new MDD heads sold me to get a MDD Mochi as my first mdd! I'm excited to get one eventually. I'm definitely aiming for DDH-21.

From the 28th (ie tomorrow), from 1pm, and to begin with they are exclusive to Osaka, likely as a way of celebrating the brand new Osaka Doll Point. 
Volks said Osaka is 'the first place in the world' you can get mochiashi which definitely implies they won't be exclusive to Osaka forever. As for how long it takes for them to go to Akiba's Dream Choice (and beyond...?) I'm hoping that the next Volks News has all the info. Unfortunately I got no idea when that's out considering Covid kinda messed up the release of the last one, but hopefully very soon unless they need to call off August Dolpa as well;;

anyway I'm currently really really glad I didnt end up going to Japan and Dream Choicing in April after all because I definitely prefer DCH21 to DCH17 and would have had some regrets right now if I'd gotten a 17 like I originally planned. 

So the newest heads are 19 and 21, did I miss something, is there a 20 somewhere?

I guess my other question at this point is, does anyone have information about what wig colors and styles DollPoint Osaka has this season? Is it the same as Akiba?

@Kotone There isn't really any way for anyone outside of Japan to know that, sadly. The only way to find out would be to go to either location in person, which is also the only way to get a catalogue showing the currently available options and whatnot. There is the Volks Dollfie blog, but they don't always update with every new eye/wig/clothing style.

New twitter post by Volks showing the DCH21 M03.

They also put up another blogpost about the Osaka dollpoint but it only says which bodies can be chosen, not a list of all the head options.

Looking at the Dream Choice line up at Osaka it seems they are missing the DDP and DDDy bodies which seems a little odd. I’m really interested to see how the 21 elf looks on a DDP body though so hopefully that’s a combo that shows up after the head release in Akiba later this month (they didn’t clearly state the 21 would show up but given they said new heads it seems pretty likely, unless they just bring the 19 to Akiba which would be disappointing, or the mystery missing 20?).

I think it's most likely that the mystery missing 20 is a new DCoord that will debut as a lottery one-off at Dolpa in August, like 18 did. Hopefully there's a pic of it in the upcoming Volks News and on the Dolpa site once it goes up. .......not that I have any idea how likely it is that this Dolpa will actually happen, though... ._.

I also assumed that the limited selection at Osaka was temporary because of how new it is (and the focus being on mochiashi and the two new heads - iirc they didnt have any of the non DC exclusive heads.) I'd be surprised if it doesn't change to match Akiba's lineup eventually.

Somehow I missed the boat about Osaka getting a Dream Choice. . . maybe there's hope for an online Volks USA Dream Choice to go with their online Full Choice at some point after all. 

Also the DC-21 head in Semi-White is super cute, like a kid version of Marisa. I think one in Semi-White would make a great Main from Ascendance of a Bookworm.

So she IS a Dream Choice head! I really expected her to be a new DCoord. Weird that she wasn’t available till now.

Also: My friend got Volks news and can confirm that the elf ears are only available for 20 and 21, and not 19. This surprised me because I assumed they were for all the new heads.

Edit: another major announcement is that heads 1, 3, 4 and 5 are now no longer available through Dream choice (2 was already retired previously) - in other words, all heads under 6. This is completely understandable to me as none of these heads are very popular anymore, especially compared to the more modern options, so they can’t have been selling too many Dream Choices with them. It would have been impractical to keep those painted heads in stock once they kept adding new ones.

OMG  I so wanted a DDH-05 in tan.

Oh man, DCH-20 is really, really cuuuute! I love her slightly surprised look, it's so cute. Agh. I was also thinking she would be a D'Coord head, so I'm pleasantly surprised that she isn't. I'm also sad to read that DDH-01 through 05 are being retired from DC, but as options evolve, it happens.

Also, as another point of interest, here's a page from the newest Volks news on the Mochi-Ashi feet that confirms SD/DD shoe size (and sneaks in boy hands/body for the MDD?):

Actually we talked about that a bit in the July 2020 Collection thread,

There's one pair of shoes in the collection that fits Mochi and the DD sizes, but not DDP/MDD sizes. But otherwise the DD-sized shoes don't fit Mochi.

 

@foo That's misleading, honestly. And confusing, since that page implies otherwise, unless those shoes are yet another pair that fits both MA and DD feet.
