baldylox Posted June 21, 2017 We're back to the trip photos again and this time we're going shopping in Ikebukuro! First we had to fuel up so it was breakfast of a hot steam bun and some yakitori sticks from the local conbini. 000 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Time to board the trains again! 001 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 002 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Yet another cold and rainy day. 003 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr I'd never been to Ikebukuro so I was looking forward to seeing what was there. 004 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 005 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr The first stop was in the Hello Kitty store! 006 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr The main street had lots of familiar stores in it. 007 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 008 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr No matter where we go, there's a Sega arcade somewhere close. 009 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr We went inside a Book Off! store to try and find some Final Fantasy stuff for Ed but I found this jem instead! 010 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Beautiful noms in the window! 011 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Inside a shopping mall we found this place. Nuff said. 012 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Also we saw this big open area.... 014 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr With a totally huge water feature! Judging by all the hoses and nozzles in the water, this thing must be really badass when it's up and running. 014(2) by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 013 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr And yes, we found this place too. 015 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 016 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr The lines in there were insane... they wrapped halfway around the store! 017 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 018 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr There was also a Toys R US in the mall so we HAD to go in there. I'm glad we did too because we found these amazing helmets! 019 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr These were awesome helmets. I think they're for Boys Day. 020 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr But man were they expensive! Most averaged between $400 and $600. I even saw one for $1000! But all of them had super intricate patterns and details on them. 021 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Lego Yoda! 022 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Alright, time to hit up some real nerd stores! 023 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Outside we saw a Chevy Corvette cruise by! 024 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr After getting denied at the Animate store ( it had moved and the stores in it's place were filled with all fujoshi stuff ) we headed back towards the train station. 025 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Awesome tile work outside this building. 026 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 027 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 028 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 029 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 030 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Ahh, there's the new Animate store! 031 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 8 floors of otaku fun! 032 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Some pretty girls on display. 033 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Ita-bags were the hot new thing this time around. Here's an example of how crazy you can get with them. 034 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Heading back towards the station again. 035 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 036 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr I LOVE how they corral all the smokers into areas like this so they don't bother anyone else. They need to do this over here in the US too. 037 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 038 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr The station was also a huge shopping mall. We were looking for the Kit-Kat store. 039 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 040 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 041 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Ohhhh yeahhhh! Yummy! 042 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 061 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Well that sucked. That place had insane prices on their stuff so we passed. Instead, we headed back across the street to Don Quixote to see if they had any. 043 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 044 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 045 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr JACKPOT! They had all of these at $3.50 a bag! And the boxes were only $6 and were exclusives only available at certain times of the year or in certain regions of Japan. The sake ones were the best tho, I loved those! 046 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Back in Akiba now.... dropped off our stuff and went out to shop some more. I'm glad I did too because I found this adorable Rei figure holding a baby Godzilla! Only paid $15 for it too! 047 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr We also hit up a random store that gave us this map of ALL the doll stores in the Akihabara area! We made sure to hit them all later on. 048 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Inside the Kotobukiya store Ed found himself some Moogle slippers. 049 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr We also got to see this sneak peek of the next two Frame Arms girls! I texted Danny Choo and told him he needed to release these two next.... it would guarantee him loads of money from collectors! LOL 051 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Ohhh Saber Extra, how you taunt me! I really wanted this figure of her but not only was it expensive, it was also out of stock. 052 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr This Natsume statue was amazing. Nyanko sensei looks so cool... 053 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Why is there a picture of a chibi Hitler on my train handle?? 054 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr We hit up another Book Off! store and I just had to share some of the movies I saw there. 055 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 056 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 057 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 058 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Suppertime! Katsudon and soup was great! 059 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr We finally went into an arcade and Becca decided to try the big Tsum Tsum game out. 063 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 064 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr And finally we hit the Don Quixote in Akiba to see what it had. 065 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr 066 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr BEST. Monty Posted June 22, 2017 Protip! In the photo above the photo of the Hello Kitty place, you can see a cafe called Milky Way. Anyone heading to Ikebukuro any time soon should go there for the best parfaits you will ever see. And they're all constellation themed! (I'm...pretty sure that's supposed to just be a cartoon old dude (well, person over 50 from the caption) rather than Hitler but lmao) lol Don Quixote. The one near my university had some of the sex stuff out right near the kids toys. *twitter*instagram*art*
baldylox Posted June 25, 2017 Another fabulous day with a happy ending. HA HA! This guy gets it. Protip! In the photo above the photo of the Hello Kitty place, you can see a cafe called Milky Way. Anyone heading to Ikebukuro any time soon should go there for the best parfaits you will ever see. And they're all constellation themed! Very cool. We didn't go in there but there was a bakery right near the train station that had amazing food. (I'm...pretty sure that's supposed to just be a cartoon old dude (well, person over 50 from the caption) rather than Hitler but lmao) Oh I know it wasn't *supposed* to be Hitler but the resemblance was just too uncanny not to make the connection. lol Don Quixote. The one near my university had some of the sex stuff out right near the kids toys. Ed had told us about that place but I'd never been in one so once we got inside.... it was just like kids set loose in a candy store. So much cool stuff, so much weird stuff and it was neverending. I wish I could have taken more photos inside but I didn't want to get in trouble and told to leave so I snuck what pics I could and went on about my business. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
MarQ Posted June 26, 2017 Next time you go to Ikebukuro I highly recomend visiting the 'closetchild' doll store. They have tons of dollfie items! https://goo.gl/maps/nYVc8zYEBP32 Thanks for posting the Akahabara doll store map. Now I know where the SEN store is at. Sometimes its hard to find stores in Japan, especially when they are not on 1F and you have to enter through a small stairway.

I had no idea that was there since it wasn't listed on any of the maps. I wish we would have known while we were there. Thanks for posting the Akahabara doll store map. Now I know where the SEN store is at. Sometimes its hard to find stores in Japan, especially when they are not on 1F and you have to enter through a small stairway. You're welcome! I posted that on social media when I first got my hands on it because I knew it would be helpful to people. From-Sen was a great store that had a ton of cool stuff, you definitely need to drop in. And yes, that entrance sucked to find! Plus, that elevator fit 4 people MAX. Me, Ed and Becca took up all the room inside it but I took up half with my huge self.
