Volks USA Anime Expo Sale (SAO, Saber, Vocaloid)

For those that don't know yet, Volks USA is having a sale for Anime Expo. The link of items is here:

And can I say, wow, lots of great stuff. They have the SAO dolls for pre-order! So if you didn't win the lottery, now you can just order one before they run out of slots. They also have a lot of the Vocaloid stuff too, including some very desirable outfits! But those are all first come first serve. As is all the Santa Saber stuff. Looks like July 1st will be a busy day for the Volks USA web store servers. I'm just glad I already got all I wanted as I'll be out of town and unable to get online.

Something odd I noticed... in USD, Rin is the cheapest of all the Vocaloid dolls there. But her RRP is usually lot more than Miku's - I know this specifically because I found it kinda annoying as there is no logical reason why she should cost more than Miku, when you'd think Miku would cost more due to her wig. (Miku's usual RRP: 62000 yen, Rin's: 70,000)

I have no idea why this is but hey who's complaining lol. (And then snow miku costs just $2 more than Rin for some reason ) Just kinda wondering how VolksUSA decides their prices on things.

For the most part, they just do 1:100 for the exchange rate. Which is lower than the current market rate of 1:111. I think it varies if the market rate changes, which is why regular Miku is more expensive. Her price is from way back.

 

(Although, you don't pay the sales tax of 8%. So it's about the same.)

Welp, it looks like I am going to have to camp out and call in favors for this one. I absolutely HAVE to get that damned Ribbon Girl set! I've been after it since it's first release and I can't find one under $350.... which I'm NOT paying.

 

Sigh, it's great that they have so many cool things still available but I fear that the one thing I want won't be available once this all starts....

I have to admit that the Ribbon Girl outfit is the most tempting thing there for me! Seeing more Miku option hands is always nice too.

Man I want ribbon girl too... Plus the senbonzakura sets. The magical stuff and the swallowtail maid set look good too. Damnit...

@Mimiyo3 the swallowtail maid set is really adorable! I have it for Miku and it is just so adorable. Best of all, I haven't had issues with it staining yet, but I haven't put it on her in the heat of summer either.

Aaaah, so envious. of you all. In Europe we can't buy in the Volks USA store, they redirect us to the japan-international one.

I know right? This thing has been the worst outfit I've ever tried to find. Even when I visited Japan earlier this year it was nowhere to be seen. Found loads of the little red riding hood ones at retail or right around that price but absolutely ZERO Ribbon Girl sets.

 

I'd also be willing to beat someone up or possibly stab them for one of these outfits at retail pricing.... I'm going to do my best to try and get one but I fear I'll only be let down once again. Good luck to anyone going for one, you're definitely going to need it. We ALL are.

I knew Ribbon Girl was hard to get, but didn't know it was this hard to get. I'm really glad I was lucky enough to get it last time Volks USA had it for lottery. But then the 1st time Miku wore it, I picked her up with a pen in my hand and ended up drawing on the sock! Still haven't figure out how to remove ball point ink...

I tried for Ribbon Girl in the International AND the US click wars but lost out both times. I even had 2 friends plus my GF trying for it as well and still no luck. This time it'll just be me and the GF trying for it so maybe third times the charm? Who knows. I would love to own it but it's looking more and more like if I want that to happen, I'm going to have to pay $400 or more for it on the aftermarket as that's what it's averaging on YJA.

Google "how to remove ballpoint pen ink from clothing". When I was in the Navy, our go-to was to spray hairspray on ballpoint marks on our white uniforms, and it worked like a charm, but the fabric was synthetic and that probably helped it work well.

 

The problem is, there are so many types of ink now! Good luck!

I'm not too fond of the set but I would love to get the wig that comes with that set as it's terribly difficult to get wigs in that aquamarine shade. Anybody don't want their wigs??

Hmmm. I didn't realize that the ribbon girl set was that high in demand. This might be interesting. If I don't have good luck, maybe I'll have better luck with some Miku hands. It would be nice to have some more option hands that match the two that she came with.

Ribbon Girl is in VERY high demand, I was lucky enough to snag it from VolksINT when it sold out within seconds!

 

Although I hear that VolksUSA is going to be selling Ribbon Girl at Anime Expo.

Good luck to people hoping to get Ribbon Girl - it's my fave of all the Miku outfits Volks have released so far, there are just so many wonderful details. I managed to snag it on yahoo auctions for a slightly lower price because of it missing the wig (I dont mind cos it looks -adorable- with the Mikuzukin wig, which I found on its own there too) You definitely won't regret it! (well, maybe the price. Coming with both shoes -and- a wig doesn't come cheap...)

So I happened to notice last night that some of the items suddenly got listed as in-stock, so I ordered the Magical Happy Corset Dress and Swallowtail Maid Dress. I thought my order might be canceled, but I got a tracking number today. So heads up, those outfits and a few other items are available now!

Don't take this the wrong way, but I am happy if all you folks wanna fight for the Ribbon Girl set...

 

It might mean there may be less attention to SAO Kirito, and I might maybe have a minuscule of a better chance of snagging him. I even created an account for Volks USA last night to participate in a click war.

So tempted to try and get len. He's just adorable !

Out of curiosity, what specific time is everything supposed to go on sale? I know it'll only just hit the 1st in 15 more minutes on the East Coast, but I don't know if they're going by PST, EST, or whatever.

 

All I know is, if it goes live while I'm at work tomorrow and I miss out I'm going to be disappointed.
