oni's Prop Dioramas - Img Heavy

I moved to a new house in July 2016 and as a result, I was able to have a whole room for my dolls (BJD and Fashion dolls)

 

I have a huge flat desk that I use as my main platform and I am constantly buying props, so since October 2016 I have been trying to make full diorama setups using props, rather than just having a picture of items in my dolls hand or next to them for scale ^///^

 

My photos aren't the best, but I hope you enjoy them all the same

 

 

October 2016 - Halloween

 

I used clips on the wall to hang some black/Purple spider web fabric one one corner, some black netting on the other half. on the desk I used just plain black fabric, bunched up randomly.

Next to my desk is my shelving unit for props, so I randomly ran some string from the posts of my shelf to the wall clips so I could have hanging bats, spiders and cobwebs. I used clear elastic to hang the bats and spiders.

 

For Props, I found some scary cool fence panels, skulls and spiderwebs design which is a pretty good scale for a low fence. Foam Tombstone, a candle lantern, a pumpkin head and a cauldron shaped candy buckets, Halloween plushies, a LED Pumkin head, Plastic skull heads and a skeleton, and DD sized candy buckets. I also found a small sized Hachet axe which was perfect for DD!

 

I think a lot of my Halloween props were bought at that time XD.

The next few snaps aren't on my desk, but I wanted to share them anyway.

 

I found a table cloth that had the bloody gore print all over and thought it would make a perfect background I used some wire cube frames and clips to make a frame 2 frames high, 3 wide at the back and 1 frame for the sides. I loosely draped the table cloth over the frame and used bulldog clips to hold it up. Add some of the Halloween police tape from the edges of the cube frame and it was fun to do some pics in there! the window was behind the frame so it also made some nice effects

Christmas 2016

 

I updated my family pic for Christmas 2016.

But after I took the photo, 3 more DD arrived and after Christmas some more arrived XD I want to get some bodies for my floating head collection so the next time I update the family pic will be Christmas 2017 XD

For Christmas, I did the 24* days of Christmas. I wanted to post a DD each day leading up to Christmas, and narrate what Christmas meant to each of them. I put the stories on my Instagram I had like 30 dd though, so I started late November XD

Like with Halloween, I bought a lot of new props this year ^///^ to be fair though, I went op shopping a lot before Christmas, so a lot of the props cost 50c - $3

As I mentioned, I was op Shopping a lot before Christmas, so I was finding lots of things I wanted to give to my hubby for xmas that happened to be good sizes for DD Presents, so I also had each DD give a present to Daddy all the presents pictured are for Daddy (he was spoilt for sure XD )

Easter 2017

 

Easter was pretty pastel colours and all about the bunnies and chicks hahah XD Easter is my favourite time of the year, I love Bunnies/Rabbits ^///^ I love the merchandise more than the chocolate :p

Sailor moon Room

 

Sailor moon is the first anime I ever watched so it has a special place in my heart. Chibiusa/Rini is my Favourite character, Usagi is my 2nd Favourite. Since I have a lot of SM anime collectables, and even my own DD versions of Rini and Serenity, I combined the two to make a room

 

Its more Rini's room, Serenity has stopped by to have Tea and snacks with her Daughter It's probably why Serenity looks so uncomfortable on the beanbag XD

 

Collectables like the new Miniature wands and lockets were good enough for scale props, figurines make cute collectables. I used vintage fabrics to make pillows and bedding, also made a reversible bag with the fabric too.

Old Fashioned Cake Sale

 

I bought my girls an oven! Haha. its more in scale with my Mini girls, so I dressed my mini girls in their finest dresses from peppermint circus and made a Cake café.

 

I bought a mini playset from Our generation, and got given a larger playset at Christmas from a dear friend which worked wonderfully in the mini set up. There's Tupperware miniatures/keychains, Miniature utensils from various places, the Bronze scale and coffee grinder are Vintage Holly Hobby scaled play items. Heaps of eraser cakes of course, and I always grab parfait/sundaes when I see them heh heh.

I love seeing Mashiro's head in the cauldron ahahha

I want the Sailor Moon room, that's so awesome. SM was my gateway into anime too. Cardcaptor Sakura and Robotech sealed the deal.

I've never actually seen Sailor Moon, but I nonetheless love the Sailor Moon room. It gives a sense of stepping into a real girl's room, just miniaturized. The bed in particular is very cute.

This is seriously so cool - I especially love the easter room as it looks so cute and colourful.

I would love to try something like this once I have a more permanent living situation as I dont want to buy a bunch of props and then have to either get rid of them or transport them back home which would be costly.

As for the oven i found it at Myers, an Australian department store

 

On the weekend i managed to visit my local sunday market, they had a toyshop in one of the sheds and welll....

The mini girls now have a dishwasher too XD

i want to paint or cover the pink eventually just so it matches the oven a bit better.

The dishwasher is about the same width across the front as the oven but its wider from front to back it also came with some plates, bowls, cups and a cute cutlery drainer

Omg so cool ;A; Esp those dishwashers and stuff omggggg T_T I really want to make a diorama for my resin MSD babies, and just today I saw a (working) tiny fridge that is PERFECT for a small sized fridge for dolls ;A; But it was 90 euro...

I want that tea set.

New Diorama!

 

The lounge room!!!

 

I've done a lounge room before but it was pretty basic, just couches in a U shape XD since that time I've gotten a lot of small tables, Cabinets/Drawers, shelves and even loungeroom themed props

 

Today Rin and Len were playing the pokemon trading card game. I found the cards at my local sunday market and had to have them heh heh.

All these dioramas are amazing.

 

I like Sailor Moon room especially. When I was watching this series I didn't even know the word "anime" but it definitely was the start of my anime addiction.

 

I hope to move in 4-5 months into our own townhouse where in theory I also will have some spare room for me and my dolls. And I'm very motivated by your example now. So far my doll props are just stored in the boxes around apartment. This is a much nicer use for them for sure.

 

I wonder do you keep any of these rooms on the permanent basis?

And everything i set up i keep on a semi permanent basis.

 

I usually set up a scene, do a photo shoot with the ones i think look best in the room and then leave the set up for a month or until i get new inspiration.

 

Sometimes ill change the scene a little, to accommodate another girl/s into the scene or to add a prop i found. Sometimes i change the dolls in the scene but dont take any pics XD it kinda varies hehehe

 

Im currently working on a new scene, can you guess the theme? XD
