JJBA OC: Naomi Busujima

Ever since I have my current doll family of 3 girls, I'm thinking and then planning to add in a fourth one in for the small family to grow.

 

This fourth doll I'm making is based on my OC that I made ever since I gotten into the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure along with it's well done fanmade game, JJBA: The 7th Stand User. I made my character Naomi who's design is loosely based on one of the optional character models, the average female, and I kind of grew her into a better OC as time passes.

 

 

I really enjoyed making her and playing as her, that I wanted to have a doll of her.

 

I believe that she's gonna be my first DDy body with some modifications since she's designed to be pear-shaped. I'm also thinking of doing something outside of box and make some stuff myself like homemade eyes but if things don't go as planned, I'll figure something out.

 

Currently the parts I got are:

- Volks Blonde wavy wig with small twin tails

- DD3 M bust

- A DDy Body(From Update #1)

- A DDH-07 head (from Update #3)

- Brown school loafers (from Update #3)

- Black/Brown tights (From Update #3)

 

Parts/stuff to get:

- Brown colored animatic eyes

- Commission someone who can do her uniform

 

I'm planning to post updates on her when she's slowly put together, so you can see how far she comes in this process.

UPDATE #1:

 

So.. update time for my fourth doll project. There has been a few bumps on the road when I am in the midst of things. This is one of those "One step forward, One step back" moments. Only for this case it's two steps back.

 

I finally received the DDy body after buying it from a fellow here in this site, back last week Monday. When I unwrapped it, I was filled with glee that my project is happening.

 

...That's when I noticed that the neck peg has been snapped off from the mailing process from Finland to Hawaii.

 

 

 

So after contacting the fellow and getting a second opinion about my body's situation, I decided to get the metal neck joint from Cool Kat's and I am now for a long, LONG wait for it to arrive to fix this first bump.

 

The next thing to arrive in my mail, was the head for the doll that arrived last night. I ordered specifically from Volks USA a DDH-07 closed eye head given it's a cheaper alternative and I am planning to open the eyes myself for the faceup process. I was actually excited to receive it for my reward of a long shift at work.

 

...Until I took a DEEP close look of the head and found out what's wrong. They actually gave me a closed eye DDH-06 head instead of the 07 version! And to add insult to injury is that it's in a 07 box.

 

 

Given how I don't know how to send it back, I'm planning to trade or sell it away here in the site. Hopefully they'll make a better use for it.

 

And finally there's the bust for the doll since this one is designated to be a pear-shaped one to match the character I planned in mind. I took a DDIII M Bust and mod is as much as I can to match a little of the DDy Bust, and the results look kinda okay but a part of me feels like something is off from it.

 

 

 

Iunno, it could be just me. But at least she looks good in the Smart Doll lingerie set. Despite how it's a little too big for her, I managed to make the the bra work by tweaking a bit.

 

 

That's all I have to say about this first update. I hope by the next one comes in, things will look better in the right direction.

You should email Volks and tell them you have the wrong head in the box!

 

The body mod looks very good!! I'm sorry the neck peg broke, I hope your new replacement works well.

Yeah, thats a mistake on Volks part and they should do -something- if you email them about it. No idea who put a 6 head in a 7 box, or why no one noticed.

UPDATE #1.1

 

I just send in a email to Volks about the messed up head order. Dunno when I'll get a message from them but I hope soon enough.

 

But a couple of thoughts kinda occurred to me. I accidentally threw away the other packaging fluff(the bubblewrap plastic where the head cushions to and the brown paper to cushion the box in the package) the other day, and the tape that helds the box lid down is flimsy and cannot hold it for too long.

 

Would Volks still take it as is when I'm planning to send it back?

I believe the heads are just sold in a plastic bag and inside the plastic box. I don't think it should matter what box and packing material you return it in, as long as it is secure and the inner box doesn't get crushed.

 

I hope you hear from them soon! Every time I have ordered from Volks (Japan or USA), they have replied quickly if I had a mistake or a question about my order.

UPDATE #2:

 

Good stuff coming in today! For starters, I received news from Volks saying that they got my complaint mail and as soon as I send the mistaken head back, they're gonna send me the head I wanted! Which shouldn't too bad.

 

The second good news is that the metal neck peg finally arrived and after removing the broken one and installing it, she's now has a working neck!

 

 

I have this test head that I have in store that shows how well it works. The metal neck peg does make turning to different directions really well and smooth!

I happened to see your WTB post about Volks mixing up the 06 and 07 heads, and I'm very glad that they're remedying their error and you can proceed with the project!

The body mod looks very good to me; the trimming line on the bust is very neat from what I can see in the photos. It especially looks good with the lingerie.

UPDATE #2.1:

 

I finally received my correct head after sending it back to Volks! Now Nana's facing some progress, but all what's left is to open the eyes so I can start the faceup progress.

 

The one problem is that.. I kinda don't know how. That's why I decided to go to the customization branch to ask around folks there on how to get it done properly without causing a whole lot of damage to the head.

 

I just hope someone can point me to the right direction how to get it done.

UPDATE #3:

 

The original head I ordered online was a disaster when doing the opening process. I ended up cutting WAAAY too much of the eyes and it resorted into an ugly mess if you guys have seen my post in the workshop branch. So modding heads would placed in the back burner.. for now until I'm confident enough.

 

After some time of waiting, I finally recieved another (same DDH07, now it's an opened eye version)head straight from VOLKS international since the US branch has been sold out again. That and a pair of hands for picture taking purposes.

 

Other than that, my other order from Cool Kats also arrived and I got myself a body protection suit and black tights for her signature uniform. I also remembered I also got a pair of loafers from Smart Doll for the girls, and with some bit of muscle it can fit on DD feet. However if push comes to a shove, I might need to consider getting the other loafers from the VOLKS site since they look more appealing than the SmD loafers(that and the SmD loafers have a black inside compaired to the one from Volks that is light).

 

I also got myself a butt-ton of eye molds from Etsy, so I might need to start learning how to make eyes soon. I just need to find a tutorial on how to get it right and done.

 

Sorry there's no pictures this time around. I might make up for that once I start on my face up process of my girl.

 

I also might need someone to point me to a person who can take outfit commissions so I can get her uniform done. I'll be very grateful for it.
