Kaede Takagaki (Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls)

if somebody ever want her but not her default wig and accessories.. do let me know.. i want to have the outfit/wig/shoes/accessories

I don't know if she's been posted here before, but I love Alphond's custom Kaede, who I believe is a Neris:

Anyway who balked at Matoi's price will be pleased to know that Kaede is more in line with typical DD prices.

That's one elaborate full-set, so many little pieces.

She will also have this casual outfit (seems...expensive? I guess cos it comes with shoes)

Now I’ve seen more pictures of her I definitely want to get her! I really like her sculpt

I definitely like her a lot more after seeing these, especially in her casual outfit. Also that last pic is a mood lmao.

 

Up close, I can see a lot more potential in her facial features. She looks a lot more mature in this picture than I expected.

 

At first I was a little turned off by the way her mouth shape looked... But upon closer inspection it's actually pretty nice.

There's something very charming and princess-y about her, so I'll look forward to seeing photos of her, although she's not the right girl for me.

Yeah, kinda how I feel. I do suppose she'd probably make a decent Pink Diamond from Steven Universe (if you didn't need tons of body blushing), but otherwise she's another in the category of "love other people's pics, don't wanna actually own her". I put Tamaki and Sasara in this same category.

She's not quite what I would've expected, but I felt that way about Anastasia as well, and both do still look like the characters even if I have some quibbles.

This is one of those areas where the eye shape in the art might not work in 3D. Her upper eyelid often seems to be drawn with little or no curvature. That seems to me like where the eyes on the Volks sculpt really deviate. I'm thinking that might look a bit off on a face with a lot of depth.

That's definitely where what Volks did seems off to me. Perhaps they made the choice for the reason you state, but I don't think it would have been an issue. Perhaps that's more curved than the 2D art also, but it works in 3D and looks more like her to me. Volks own Anastasia has them flatter than their Kaede. Really, it's the curvature on the inner part, where Volks commonly makes the eye makeup far less curved than the actual eye hole in the head sculpt (which I often think looks weird when you really look at it); for an egregious example of that just look at Miku.

I love the outfits, and will try to get her extra one for sure. And I do love her head, but the beauty mark just kills my want for her. I know some like them, but they have always been a turn off to me. Oh well. That'll make Yaya happy that I'm not planning on another girl.

IIRC, none of the Idolm@ster dolls have come to VolksUSA. So Volks International or nothing.

There have been preorder Idolm@ster as with Iori, Yayoi and Anastasia last year, but that won't be the case here I'm sure. The especially weird upcoming release of Nanao Yuriko is clickwar so anything is possible. I'm also not sure how the store after event info is typically worded, but the above sounds like a clickwar in the sense of first come first served instead of a store lottery as well.

I've been thinking more about her. Even though I don't feel she matches the character in the same way other Volks Idolm@ster girls have, I would be interested in her if it wasn't for her mouth. That slightly open mouth style just doesn't appeal to me I think because it's a large part of what I don't like about Luka as well.

 

I hope she gets some future outfits too. They've often done that though so far they haven't for Anastasia so I don't know if it will happen.

I think the shape of her face is right, but her lower eyelids are just a bit too round. Still in all she's very close to some of her cards, but looks younger than she does some of the others.

 

I think her look may be based more on her Starlight Stage 3D character model than the original art they previewed a year ago.

Yeah, that performance is one of the more popular ones in the iM@S FB groups. The interesting bit there is her body is a bit more Chibi, and would fit DDS better.

 

The Platinum Stars animations are truer to the age-form of the characters in the anime imo.

I think she looks fine. I don't expect the characters to looks 100% like their drawings when they get turned into DD in any case. It's more they need to capture the overall feel of the character.

 

For me she is a must have even if my motto on the iM@S DD wasn't 'Gotta Catch 'Em All.'
