Kaede Takagaki (Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls)

She looks nice in those. That mouth style still isn't my thing and the I don't like the outfit; it's so busy.

 

Depending on what I think of Yuriko, it's best for me trying instead to get one of the older Idolm@ster girls that I love.

 

But I'm fine with all of these just as long as Volks doesn't pull another Haruka.

I'm guessing there is no danger of that. She probably competes with Mio Honda for the lowest after market price of any of their iM@S line.

 

Maybe you will get lucky and they will re-release Chihaya, but if not she's totally worth the after market price.

On Mandarke at least, Haruka is now around 100K while Mio is just 70K. I don't know why either Mio looks great.

 

For the DDS rerelease, I'm hoping most for Miki Hoshii because that's the only way I'll ever be able to get her. She's currently 200K vs. 100K for Chihaya, so Chihaya is at least still attainable.

 

C'mon Volks, show Yuriko already!

I think it was Torino who mentioned Luka's mouth is much more deeply sculpted than you can tell in most pictures; this looks to be the same say from that profile.

Yeah, I liked how that theme played out through the anime. I'd elaborate but I guess spoiler tags don't work here and I don't want to otherwise.

 

Mio Honda didn't really stand out in any way in the anime to me. It's been a while now since I finished watching, but I can't even really remember her at all now. Maybe that's just a reflection of me though.

Yeah CG suffers from a very large cast, and Kaede really is a minor character. A minor character who won Cinderella Girl a few years back, and has generally placed very well in the annual rankings though.

I loved the Kaede episode, and it's why I like her character so much. For me it wasn't just her turning down the career advancing show, it was how connected she was to her fans. She is the top idol at the agency, but wasn't full of herself or conceited about it. Her fans loved her, and she returned that love in full measure. ***

 

I do think her DD could be a bit closer to her true look, but she still looks great.

 

What's interesting about the Kaede DD is her face looks young in the closeups, but when you look at the full body shots in Volks news she looks older. I am guessing you could pop off her head, slam it onto a DDS body, and you have 16 year old Kaede. What a difference the DD3 body makes to the overall feel of the character, and how much she looks like Kaede seems to depend on where you are standing. I think she's a character who will need full body photos and not closeups unless you are making her an OC.

 

In CG characters like Kaede, Mika & the other members of LiPPS are the mature established pros, and the actual "Cinderella Girls" represent the young and upcoming next generation. Hence why the idol set 'New Generations' is the common thread weaving all the episodes together even when the episode isn't about them. At the same time both generations achieve growth through their interaction with each other. I would expect that in general the CG DD are going to reflect that difference in how the characters are designed and presented.

It would be really great if her after event worked like Luka's, but somehow I think we won't be that lucky with iM@S. They seem to be much more exclusive.

I think she is pretty too, except for the beauty mark. But having to wait for her and to send her right off to get a new faceup isn't something I'm willing to do.

Generally we haven't known. Look at the wording on Luka's page:

Because I didn't know either when she came up, I went back and compared, and Sailor Moon had the same wording.

 

However, what's said there on Kaede's page is different. Even if the google translation is imperfect, there's never been the note in red before.

 

[Edit: I didn't actually read Luka's page now because I assumed it said what it did before. Now it talks about preorders. When it was first up it didn't; it was vague. So I think my point is still right; what Kaede's page says now is different than what other dolls have said at this early point in time.]

 

What I interpret that to mean is a clickwar of some kind, but one that is in one way or another like Luka, in that she's not very limited. If we take the translation at face value and literally, it sounds like she's for sale in the stores and the webstores, with no quantity limit, but once some initial amount is sold they it will become quantity limited. To me that sounds like clickwar, but one where it won't be that hard to get her. Whether that means the dolls are all made already or if it's a short-term preorder like Luka though, who knows.

 

I think one thing is clear from what Volks has done with the last three DDs--they're experimenting with new sales techniques. Whether these are all ways of selling they'll continue to use or they're trying things out to see what works best is anyone's guess though.

 

Someone who has longer experience in this hobby and with how Volks operates may have a better answer.

Thanks for posting that. She looks great, and so does Matoi, who I am not interested in, but I think her price is as to be expected. Her outfit looks to be about the same degree of complexity as Kos-Mos and iirc Kos-Kos was ¥95,000. I think I may pick up that outfit at some point as a cosplay for my other girls.

So there is a limited amount in stock and once those are sold then there are limited preorders to be delivered in the fall. This is in contrast to Matoi who is preorder only and unlimited and to be delivered in winter.

I still can not decide on buying ... I still think, because there are not a lot of qualitative pictures. But, I think she is very attractive in some angles))) Maybe, Kaede did not like the Japanese and because we see so small amount photos...?(((( I think if I saw her in a live, I could immediately decide on the purchase.)))
