hmmm I thought the volks international website for Kaede was a click war/pre-orders...? It's apparently a lottery now? Whats going on here?

If you read back here the last few pages, that's how it appeared. I posted the original info from Volks which clearly sounded like a limited number of dolls in stock followed by a limited preorder done as a click war; then when the final info was put up a week or so ago it became lottery.

 

I suspect it's going to be another lottery with a high percentage of winners though as they've been recently.

 

 

O thank you. Well if that's the case, I'd rather just try my lottery with VolksUSA as I don't need to have it shipped to another location and then to where I live due to my work situation. Unless anyone can tell me its better with the international website.

yaaay lucky you she will arrive earlier! I have my lotto number and purchased the casual outfit before it went temporally out of stock (and the white rose red skirt). I had two cats accompanying me during the payment process eternal wait and I'm really happy right now! Now it's 6am here so I'm going back to bed ^^

Yeah, it's odd... my CC said they're not even getting payment requests but Volks tells me the site is fine. I took Kaede out of my cart so I could get some of the limited items and I get the failed response on that purchase too.

Is it doing a verification step and not making it past that? If so that would explain why your card company never sees the response.

I don't really like the casual outfit, but I want those shoes.

She was still available in Doll Point when I visited yesterday. Was very surprised! Hoping that means good luck for those in lottery.

Mandarake is selling the full doll for 120K, the outfit for 30K and outfit + wig for 35K.

 

My opinion in general is buying these dolls or parts aftermarket so close to release is a real gamble. Sure they may go up later but it's just as likely they stay the same or go down a bit. Rin V2 was 120K on Mandarake at one time, probably just after release, and is a far more reasonable 75K now. Takane is 120K but as far as I can tell she was always about that.

I generally agree. I think I paid ¥95,000 for my Rin, and I have no regrets, but ¥75,000 is much more reasonable. Now that we have 2 more Saberfaces Volks needs another Rin, and a new Sakura.

 

Takane has fluctuated a bit. I've seen her as low as ¥95,000. Given how beautiful she is, I am surprised she isn't up at Rin Shibuya's price. Still, I suspect that Rin and Ranko's price has a lot to do with the popularity of the characters, just like with Miki.

 

I got my Takane from someone on the forum for a better price than Yahoo! Japan.

I thought the outfit was only a web store clickwar release for international customers.

 

No idea how VolksUSA handled it.

Her outfit was also a lottery entry for VolksUSA.

My Kaede is through Doll Immigration, and she should be here tomorrow. Worst case Saturday if I have to go get her at the post office.

 

They must have recognized who she was in breezed her through, perhaps after she treated them to her rendition of Fly Me to the Moon. o_O

I also received my winning email from Volks for Kaede 10 minutes ago. I just figured I lost yet another lottery.
