Looks to me like we might be getting a smart doll of Genos and maybe Saitama!

The head seam might look odd, on a bald character lol

If he was going to do Saitama, he'd have to have a closed head, meaning changing his eyes wouldn't be possible. Good Smile Company did the same thing with the nendoroid of him - his head is all one piece without separate faceplates (just two heads with different expressions) because otherwise he'd just have a big ugly seam line on his forehead.

A Genos could definitely be impressive if done right I think. I've seen a pretty cool custom BJD of him with jointed hands but I forget which company and sculpt it was from.

 

Or maybe he just wanted the license so he could make that hoodie lol.

I don't mind if it is just for the hoodie because I kinda really need it.

A seam across the head is no more unsightly than any other BJD joint. We have gotten used to slots in the shoulders, disjointed elbows, gaps across the torso, skeleton parts sticking out from the back of the knees, etc., we can probably get over a seam in the head.

I don't think it would be nice, since there is no wig to cover it..

In my opinion if a head cap was moved more towards the back of the head - and not on its top - it would be less noticeable and would look acceptable.

When I saw this I became super curious too. I wonder what they're doing. It seems weird that they'd just release a clothing line without a doll, and if they ended up doing Saitama I wonder what they'd do with the head as mentioned as above.

I love One Punch!! Danny will have to get Saitama's expressions just right! Genos is an awesome looking character, but Saitama just kills me, every time.

I can't find the original post& idk how to navigate weibo... But at the bottom of this search result, there is a group of pics of the custom Genos if anyone is curious. No idea on company, but the headsculpt looks like Crobidoll Ys to me. The hands might be Spirit Doll.

 

 

I'm curious as to whether he'll make Genos... or one of the girl charas... I'm hoping that they'll be more like the OP collab, and look closer to the character...

Regarding how he did Gourai armor, I'm pretty sure that if he makes Genos, I'll dislike it a looooot. But well, it's a matter of taste.

Is there a known brand for custom jointed hands for vinyl dolls?

I see them at Wonfest/Dolpa so I know there's an independent seller that does it but I don't know about 'companies'. I think they look kind of weird as 'normal' hands to be honest - they work so well for Genos because he has robot hands.

 

Although, it looks kinda likely that this wasn't a doll license after all. But who knows what the future will bring.

I find it a little funny because a little while ago I was looking at an old post of his where he was saying that a double holster and gun DD set was too expensive at 18,000 yen. It is pricey but the set was incredibly detailed and clearly took a lot of work, significantly more than a hoodie and basic apron. I can't imagine how much Danny would charge for the same thing.

I mean the hoodie and apron are well made and I know he has to account for the licence cost but I still think it's way too much.

 

Also did anyone find the description a bit, um, creepy? O.o
