Sirius Dollfie dream doll question

Recommended Posts

amarilian

Not exactly a problem, more like a cool, and what did I get myself into kind of question. Please excuse my ignorance here. I recently acquired a Sirius doll. Question is how are these girls put together/taken apart? They seems to look strung? I am not in the slightest unhappy here. I wanted an older doll, and I just was an idiot and thought Sirius was a dd2? Don't worry Holly and Sumire made the suggestion for me!!

Holly and Sumire are adorable!

Dollfie Dream Sirius was the Dollfie Dream version of the character(s) Sirius from Samurai Jupiter.

Sirius Yuki (Snow) and Sirius Kaze (Wind)

She came in two versions released in 2005 at the Dolpa Kyoto 3.

The anniversary model was on the original Dollfie Dream body (DDI) which is strung. The outfit was detailed and Sirius came with a black wig

The product model version had the DDII (inner frame type). The outfit was more streamlined and there were three wig options: white, lime, and electric blue.

Here is a scan of an old Volks pamphlet showing the specifications for DDI and DDII.

Volks included a re-stringing guide.

I hope this helps. Congratulations on your Sirius! She is a really cool piece of Volks history. I hope you have lots of fun with her.

Mitsuki thank you for the help. I was sorta wondering if anyone had a video describing how to take body parts off. Actually my Sirius girls name is AI(indigo) Miyazaki. Sumire is another doll.

Heres a family picture minus AI. Sumire is the the girl with green hair. I should be more specific on the girls names. So, from left to right Kumiko(in yellow top), Akemi (SD, in red/pink dress) Sayuri (visiting, in black top), Holly chan (White dress, holding pink cat) Sumire(White top, green hair, and holding green fox), and Melany(visiting, MSD in black dress holding white doggy).

I Was trying to get AI's head and legs off to do some cleaning and was like wait this is not the same as the others. I am also getting some new pictures of the girls in a photo story soo...35404850251_c3fa738606.jpgDSCN0350 by Amarilian, on Flickr

AI is a beautiful name! Indigo is such a lovely color. She has the perfect wig for her name. That's a wonderful picture! Thank you for posting it. Sumire definitely is adorable too!

A video on restringing would be great. I haven't tried restringing a DDI before. I don't know how to remove the legs without completely restringing but I can tell you one tip that is good to know for removing the head.

It can be hard remove the head caps. A blow dryer can help to soften the vinyl.

Basically I use a piece of string to keep the elastic from disappearing into the body after the S hook is removed.

Once the S hook has been removed, you can remove the head.

I hope this helps a little.

Actually, Ai' s head was held in place by a spring holding the head post. I was not aware of this until I heated up the head cap with a dryer. After I heated the head cap. The head came right off.
