Hello everyone! I wanted to make a little thread with my concepts mostly to keep myself organised because I'm totally scatter brained. I hope everyone enjoys my concepts and characters. Please do not use my original designs or art without permission ^^

Smart Doll

Head: Ebony, Sana, Twilight (probably Ebony) **

Bust: L or LL **

 

I have her eyes so far only! Leaning towards Ebony. Unsure if I will get a custom faceup or stick to the factory face since I love SD factory faces usually. Really uncertain, not sure how pink eyebrows will look on tan skin on an actual doll, and not sure if I want the face-up to be blue. Thinking of having the same sort of eyelash design/shape but with a pink/blue gradient of eyeshadow to make it pop.

I've bought her eyes, trying to decide on if I should commission a wig, make my own or keep looking. I've bought her socks and shoes also. I'm unsure if I'll keep her concept, I'm thinking of trading her out for a different character.

Your characters are so unique and the faceup you showed looks really good!

 

This is just my personal opinion but I can't help but feel like Cordelia would look better as a tan DDdy - although that would mean waiting for those to be more readily available. If you do go the smartdoll route, I also wonder if Sana or Twilight would be a better match headwise, but I'm sure you know your own characters better than I do, so it should be your decision anyway.

My other opinion is that Reiko might work better as DDh09 which looks -great- with a tsundere kind of faceup, but again, ddh09 is a little harder to get a hold of.

 

Whatever ends up happening I do look forward to seeing these three completed!

I honestly don't think tan DDdy is dark enough for her, which is why I'm leaning towards Smart Dolls. I just feel like the SD's are a lot darker I also think Ebony is a better suit for multiple reasons. For Ebony her chin is sharper (the same as Twilight, where as Sana is a tad more rounded). I like the eyeshape on Ebony more- sure, Sana's are slightly more flat-topped suiting the eye shape in the initial design, but Ebony's eyes are much larger which is preferred, and with a decent faceup... Well, I'm sure you're already familiar with how much a faceup can change the way the entire face looks ^.^

 

I considered DDh09 but decided on DDH06 because of the amount of possibility and diversity that can be used with the face sculpt. I may get a DDH09 if I could find one for a decent price, but I honestly think that DDH06 is a perfectly viable option for her :3

 

It was really lovely hearing your opinions, thanks for your input! My designs are only a base idea anyway, so all of them are changed on my preferences, sorry >.<

Thanks so much both of you!! Mias Daydreams did a beautiful job and I'm super pleased with it too Thanks for the lovely comments. The head literally arrived as I typed this message. The eyes I have for her atm are a bit too small so I'll wait for proper eyes to take photos xD

 

I've also ordered the custom eyes for Sugar which are currently in production. I'm guessing it'll take a few months since shipping will take a while sadly ^^

Small update! The eyes are still in production and I've ordered some custom clothing for her. Here's her head with some temp eyes (they look a bit small IMO, I think bigger eyes suit this head >.< ). I've also started sketching a picture of her which I'll add to the post if I finish ^.^

I'm sorry, I should clarify, I DID NOT do the faceup ^^ Mias Daydreams did . Sorry, I just don't want to take credit for anything here since all I did was do the mock-up sketch ^.^ She's super talented, I loved the way she did eyebrows so I mimiced my mockup to fit her style more.

 

I really love them too! I'm actually a sucker for thick eyebrows heh. I think Reiko and Cordelia will probably both have solid line style eyebrows though, but Sugar can be special

Oh my goodness, your concept sketches are so pretty!! Really like how Sugar's face up turned out. I didn't know that Mia did DD face ups. What was the eye size that you used? I actually like how small they are.

your concepts are so fun! I love how the drippy glitter under Sugar's eyes turned out. I have a soft spot for bunny ears so hopefully you're still working on the other girls!
