MAGICAL MIRAI 2017 --DD Luka is Coming!!!!

DDS doesn't just get you a shorter girl (that'd be perfect in my view) but an overall younger-looking one with most all body dimensions shrunk down. The larger heads start to look too large on it to me; i.e. I think a DD like your Yaya is great as a DDS, but feel Rin's head looks out of proportion on it.

 

I find that very true of Chihaya Kisaragi on a DDS. Canonically she is a very slender character and should be on a DDS imo, but her head just looks a bit too big on it. I put her on a DD-SS Bust body and her head looks much better relative to her proportions, but now her body isn't quite small enough.

 

Makoto Kikuchi, and Miki Hoshi on the other hand look just right on a DDS.

well seeing Luka is currently in production, sounds like she might be the May doll.... ? :/

If Luka is potentially going to be released in May, then I'd better get saving!

 

I can't say it bothers me if she's on the DDIII body, but I do have my fingers crossed for a more mature looking sculpt - at least in comparison to Miku and Rin/Len. If she does look too young or similar to the previous vocaloids, then I may pass on buying or entering the lottery for her.

 

And I had been secretly hoping they'd use her VX4 outfit, but I'm not surprised they're going with the classic one instead!

Did they ever announce 9S? Afaik 9S would be a surprise if he did pop up in May.

On the image with the announcement for 2B, it said in smaller letters "9S is to follow" or something like that. So, I imagine he will be released after 2B, but if they for some reason delayed 2B and she was meant to be released earlier, they might get released together?

I totally missed that. I just recall people saying they hoped for 9S as a release when 2B was announced.

 

In light of that 2B/9S makes total sense. Not a Nier fan myself, but I know a lot of folks have been anxiously waiting for this. Maybe May will be a good month for them.

My laptop broke so I can’t get her...I have to save my money for 9S ;_; I hope she’s as easy to get later on as the other Vocaloids have been.

I’m not sure how I feel about her mouth yet but I’m really happy I’ll get to see her in person next month at Dolpa and probably also at Fu Kuoka Volks. I’ll get some good closeup pics from the latter - she’ll probably be behind glass at Dolpa.

Part of me was secretly hoping I wouldn't end up liking her. But I do.

 

Hopefully she'll be as easy to get as Rin and Len ended up being. Unfortunately can't get her right now either.

I haven't liked any of Volks open-mouthed sculpts and this doesn't change that for me. I also feel she doesn't look like the character and especially the extra pointy chin seems wrong.

 

However, I've always felt Volks' Miku looks nothing like the character either and Rin being the only one that does so I'm not surprised here, and I also seem to be fairly alone in my assessment.

 

They went with a sculpt that's similar in style to Miku's (and Len's) which I expected but I don't really feel is the right choice here too.

 

Nevertheless, happy she's being made as it means I can have outfits for a custom.

 

Also, previous speculation about bust and body type. Looks like a L bust to me? Actually looks like she probably is a DDdy? The bust looks pushed-up like either a DDdy or a DD3 shapely bust, and to my knowledge the latter has never been used on a licensed doll has it?

The pointy chin could just be volks bad photos. :/

 

I'm on the fence for her. I think she's pretty, but her mouth and chin are a bit :/

Luka looks like a DDIII with shapely L bust, her thighs don't look thick enough for a DDdy.

Beatrice and Kos-Mos come to mind as licensed characters with that bust too.

A part from the pointy chin (that I can always sand down a bit myself), this is a massive YES for me.

Literally a sculpt to die for, I can't wait to see if it is a pre-order or a lottery, since I really want her

I agree with you there.

I'm looking forward to see some repainted pics of her when she's released. I love her sculpt, but I think she would look better with a slightly different faceup. Not really fond of the pink shade around her eyes either.

I was really hoping I would not like her! I do not need another doll right now and I really dislike pink so I thought I was safe. I am not even the biggest fan of her voice. But ohmygoodness I think I really want her. That face!

I agree 100% I have Usagi and while adorable it’s just not her. I’m not a huge vocaloid fan but I feel like Luka should’ve had a more mature look. Her open mout reminds me of a frog. Perhaps with a re-paint she could look cuter. But I just don’t think it looks like the character.

I like her, though I can guarantee she’ll look much better in person. Rin looks nothing like her photo op. The mouth is kind of off putting. Looks fine far away, but I feel like she wants to lick my face.

It's quite possible (or almost sure), but with these facial features she still won't look like Luka
