I agree. I think the problem is that they tried making her have a unified look to Miku and Twins and ended up making her too baby faced. Her eyes look very similar to the other vocaloids.

I agree 100% I have Usagi and while adorable it’s just not her. I’m not a huge vocaloid fan but I feel like Luka should’ve had a more mature look. Her open mouth reminds me of a frog. Perhaps with a re-paint she could look cuter. But I just don’t think it looks like the character.

I don't know anything about vocaloid, but I like her sculpt so far. Especially for a frog girl custom!

I dunno why you guys think she looks too young. She looks a little older than Miku, like a high school senior vs a high school junior, which is how she’s always looked in most artwork, especially official stuff. Meiko is the one typically drawn as much more mature than the rest. I’m actually glad they didn’t make her look the same age or even younger than Miku like the new Kei art they’re using for her box where she -definitely- looks too young. I honestly think she looks like she stepped right out of Project Diva and definitely isn’t like Usagi..it’s just her expression I’m not 100% sure about. I think they wanted her to look different to Miku, cos Vocaloid’s are pretty samefacey (you can thanks kei’s art for that) so I’m all for them giving her an open mouth especially as she comes with a mic, but the tongue is a little weird and I really need to see it in person.

 

(In the end it’s a bit odd to me to complain about vocaloids not looking like the character when what they look like can vary drastically depending on who draws them anyway. There’s no way to satisfy everyone but I’ve been very satisfied with the Vocaloid DDs so far...but again, I gotta see that mouth in person)

I don't think the overall look has a problem. She is based on Kei style (we have seen the artwork earlier). So she would never been that different from Miku and the twins. She came out a lot better than I thought.

According to various sources, Miku is 16 and Luka is 20. To me she doesn't look here that much older than DD Miku. Miku is a girl, Luka is (or should be here) a woman.

Oooh! I really, really love how Luka looks. I just really hope she comes out later in the year or else I'll have to wait for her.

Hmmm - I like her sculpt. Kinda like how they had shown Sheryl to have an open mouth but turns out it was all just the faceup .. this one is legitimately in the sculpt. I think it’s super cute - Was it stated that she’s a preorder? Or is she limited like the rin/Len? I’d assume she’s limited but figured I’d ask

She is adorable! I'm on the fence about the tongue thing but I think with a custom face-up the sculpt would be really really cute. I hope she isn't a lottery because I need this girl.

This one is so difficult for me. I quite like the 3 full-body photos, but I'm not such a fan of her close-up. I'll look forward to seeing more of her!

It looks like Volks is going a pretty formulaic route for the faceup styles on the vocaloid DDs. They've all got eyeshadow in their "colour" too. She's about what I expected except her mouth was a surprise. Kinda looks like she's about to lick her lips. I still like Rin the most but Luka looks like she'll fit in great with the rest of the line.

She looks quite a good bit older than Miku, and to me Miku looked a bit aged up? So this suits me (unfortunately). That shot above the waist with the mic is pretty much how I pictured her as a DD.

I think she is pretty. I've very pleased with the photos and how Volks has made her. I think she fits in great with how I see her. With that said, I have no plans to get her. I like Vocaloids, but Miku has always been my true love. As for the Volks dolls, Rin is cute, and I may get her someday if the price is right, and if the price is right with Luka I'd get her too. The only other Vocaloid that I would have to get if Volks made her is Neru. But since she isn't an official Vocaloid character (She is the 1st official fan made derivative character.), I doubt they ever will.

Yeah, way better! Although I suggest to specify that yours is a photo manipulation, otherwise someone might think she will actually be like that... (*sob*sob* I wish she was)

She looks so much better with teeth. I don’t know what they were thinking; giving her sloppy tongue lip kiss face.

So, this is what it takes to bring me back here, lol. Not having a real computer currently has pretty much reduced my online presence to Instagram and Twitter.

 

Anyways, this is just about the worst thing Volks could have done. As a huge Luka fan, I had been really hoping that they would screw something up horribly so I’d have to go the custom route for her to be “my Luka”. Unfortunately, she is perfect! Ever since I first discovered this hobby, there has only been the one absolute must have, would gladly sell body parts for, whatever it takes Girl.

 

On the other hand, she is also really the last girl out there that I have much desire for at all. Pretty much all of my other wishlist dolls have already been brought home, so unless Volks comes out with something completely out of left field, I won’t be needing any more for myself for quite some time.

She really does look better with teeth! The edit really brought out another side of the sculpt.

I can't wait for her to come out, I'm excited to see what other outfits she'll get in the future!

I dunno, the tiny hint of her tongue sticking out gives her just a hint of playfulness, to me, that really enhances her cuteness. Gives her that perfect combination of cute and sexy that has always defined Luka to me.

Jadepixel, I love the edit too, I was thinking the same thing. Your photo edit is much nicer than the one I did for myself.

 

 

Luka is very cute, but with 3 Vocaloids already I'm not sure if I need her, we'll see... (I bet owner pics will make her a must have orz)
