new Cocoa skin

But I do prefer the one on the right, the one on the left looks like actual chocolate. But she gives an odd sort of glossy finish compared to the darker one.

She doesn't look shinier than the other one to me. They're both really good. Honestly I wish he'd make both now. lol

I really like both! It doesn't look that likely, but getting both of them would be really nice. The one on the left can be cocoa and the other can be espresso, to keep the drink naming theme intact.

I see them as milk chocolate and dark chocolate

Having to manufacture and stock all the different skin tones is a pain in the behind, but I think it would be well worth it. Both colors look great.

I think I do like the darker of the two. The other looks too much like real chocolate, and I'd be too temped to keep tasting her to make sure she wasn't (As is, my wife thinks I put too many things in my mouth already.). Plus the darker one is the same color as a family friend I grew up calling my aunt (I still do when I see her.).

I prefer the lighter shade mainly because it is closer to my own but both of the new shades are much better, saturated and natural compared to the original cocoa color.

I love the left skin color.

I like both colours, but would like to see how the faceups turn out. The reddish faceup on the darker skintone seems off.

Being a dreamer, I would like to have both options available. I mean, not everyone is gonna like one shade, right, right?

 

But I understand that storing two tones is gonna be difficult in the long run. I personally really like the darker shade simply because of how natural the tone is, and the fact you don't get very many dolls in that skin colour.

 

Once he nails a factory face up for it, I think that skin tone would be all good.

WOW the new cocoa color is so beautiful. I wish I could get one in that color, but in order to do that I will have to sell both of my DDdy girls. Why do I have to be poor?

Looks like the lighter tone has won the popular vote , Danny just tweeted they are looking at a November release for her

 

I like both of the colors, but I'm glad that he chose the lighter one. I'm hoping with all my heart that he releases a new doll with the Sana/Starlight mold in the new cocoa skin, or even just Sana/Starlight in the new cocoa color. Either is fine!

Maybe he could do it like Volks and have seasonal colors? Or have one as a limited seasonal run. I don't see it likely though.

I like how there's a bronze-ish tone to her, can't wait to see Moonlight and Chitose.

I totally agree with you on all counts. I'm so glad I was able to scoop up my Moonlight with the original skin tone. The new lighter shade he's going with now is too orange/yellow in tone for my liking. I think the darker version would have been the better choice for the new default color.

I kind of did the same. I couldn't bear not having a Chitose in that dark old Cocoa skin color. So I end ordering one last night. It was a good think because she was the last one. As soon as I order her she went out of stock. I was going to order Twilight and wait two weeks to order her. But as soon as I saw that the lighter Cocoa skin won I went and order Coca Chitose instead. I couldn't let her go. Good think for the credit cards, even thou mine is to the max right now Those are two smartdolls I always wanted a Chitose in the cocoa and a Twilight. But I can get Twilight other time. I hope Danny don't decided to change the Tea color :p

Ahhh! So you went and pulled the trigger on Chitose! Congrats buddy! You will love her, she is super sweet, cute and fun. And she looks wonderful in that skin tone too. I know you really wanted a Twilight but like you said, you had to grab her now in order to get the color you really wanted. I'm happy for you!

I seriously doubt he'll be changing the tea ( tanned ) color for his girls. They seem to be VERY popular so I think you'll be okay for a little while. Plus, you might be able to afford her quicker than you think.... wink wink.

I'd prefer that both of the prospective new Cocoas could be kept since they're both beautiful and natural, but I'm relieved that the one I liked more made it. Warm, golden undertones are lovely. The darker one is definitely more neutral and seemed to have A LOT of fans, at least on instagram? I'm honestly kind of surprised it didn't win.

 

I hope this new cocoa stays around long enough for Danny to make a shorter girl body in this skintone and more head sculpts in general.. The current body and available heads aren't a very good match for the cocoa girl I'm planning..

From what I saw on many FB groups ,Twitter , forums ect I thought it looked like a close race with the Darker one slightly ahead but we don't know how many people like myself also emailed in a vote

good point , also did existing customers votes hold more weight than non customers ? we will never know

That could be! I was just curious because it felt like most of the votes I saw seemed to be for the darker skin. Although it really doesn't affect me much; I'm mostly into the tan and milk skins anyway, and I preferred the lighter one.
