LexiKat13 Posted September 4, 2017 So still some what new to the hobby I've noticed little things with volks that I wish were different. Some of the clothes have amazing quality and detail and others are lacking. I wish they line wigs fully when they sell them as well as treat certain outfits before selling. I've never had issues with ordering from them but have had a body suit rip while putting it on. Some of the seams should really by reinforced. What do you guys think? Monty Posted September 4, 2017 I kinda wish a lot of the props were add-ones that could be purchased separately, i.e. Lens keytar. It made him cost 5000 more than Rin. *twitter*instagram*art*

This- Another thing I wish they would do is offer the doll nude or fullset. But since most of their dolls are character dolls I doubt they would ever consider this. There's some dolls I want to get just nude, since I have 0 interest in their fullset and sometimes the outfits are hard to sell.(Such as Kagamine Rin/Len for example). I also wish that they offered Snow Miku's wig/eyes/outfit separately like they did for Santa Alter. Doesn't hurt to dream.
Gabriel Posted September 5, 2017 I'd like some of the parts of sets be available separately. I'd like the outifts of limiteds to be available separately as well as the panties and slips which normally are only available with standards. Sometimes there are elements of outfit sets which I'd like to be available individually, like the coat of the recent Deep Blue Shorts Elegant set, or the boots and stockings of the Mage (Aezerin) set. I wish certain purchases were more customizable. For instance, when buying a body it would be nice to be able to choose what bust size and hands come with it. It's definitely possible to buy all the parts separately, but the price comes out higher that way.
Poofiemus Posted September 5, 2017 Warning: USA bias ahead. I wish: -Nanoha and Fate's weapons were sturdier/more solid -That it was easier to swap DDII feet onto DDIII bodies--if the sockets weren't just a hair too small, I would have upgraded Nanoha and Fate ages ago. -That the fingerless glove hands they've done for several limited dolls were standard--they're really cool, and I wish I could have them in more poses. -That there were non-licensed outfit preorders--some of the Designer Collection stuff, for instance, is stunning, but also an absolute pain to get in click wars. -That they'd freakin' line and/or stain test more of their outfits. Volks, why the hell do the black parts on Nanoha's stockings stain, when everything else in her default is safe? Sense made: zero. -For some actually BROWN animetic eyes--not weird oranges or nice-but-totally-not-brown golds. And especially: -That they'd do new wigs with Dolpa events! I don't care if they're click war, just have more variety in the wigs offered. Honestly, I do not know why this hasn't occurred to them, as it fits perfectly in their existing business model. -By the same token, more exotic eye designs and colors could go over well using the same kind of release system. Stuff that I hope will happen sooner than later: -Some form of Dream Choice for USA. I'd be cool with limited order periods like they do for FCS. -Volks showing up at more cons! Yes, they do AX and NY ComiCon (given that SDCC is so close to AX time-wise, I forgive them for not doing that one), but there's still bunches of cons that are big enough for it. Emerald City ComiCon? Phoenix ComiCon? Dragon Con has particular appeal, because it's a "wandering" con, changing location every year, and has some pretty impressive attendance. Their previous success at cons is promising, so I'm hoping they're open to doing more now that the physical US store is closed. -More clothes and shoes that fit DD Boy--that are actually MEANT for boys and do NOT consist of those doofy short pants. Yeah, they're cute, but don't work for more mature characters. And as for shoes, these boys need some boy shoes and not high heels/sandals with flowers kthnx. -Long-sleeved/pants-centered outfits for DDP. Yeah, I don't have a DDP, but the measurements are a dead ringer for S-bust Obitsu 50cm, and Homura could totally use some snazzy clothes that aren't either too big or highwater on her. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
Oni-Chan Posted September 5, 2017 Volks Australia XD But more realistic, as others mentioned Being able to choose bust types for standard model or base bodies. Being able to buy slips/panties sets by themselves. Proper brown eyes. Also More eye styles, even having eyes like "Sailormoon eye style: blue, green, red, purple colour" etc More hand options, maybe a few more hand poses, but also having options like with miku hands, coloured nails with the hand peg as well. Go through the rainbow every 2-3 months, pre order or sales wise, so each quarter you will get to order the skin coliur, nail colour, hand pose and size of hand you want you just gotta wait for the colour you want I have more dollfies than my age in years *×*
elianti Posted September 5, 2017 A step further from wanting nude versions of limited dolls.. I want the option to buy -just- the heads and outfit separately. I just can't see Volks selling decapitated heads of licensed characters though. I very rarely am interested in keeping the exact same body that most of the limited girls come with, which is one of the reasons why I end up passing on dolls even if I like the rest of them enough. Selling off the extra bodies can be really difficult. :
K-2 Posted September 5, 2017 I would like to see Volks open a preorder/sales period for each doll and/or outfit. During this period you would order the doll/item and pay for it. Then once the preorder/sales period closes they can tally up the number of paid orders and make that many dolls. Everybody that orders one gets one. No click wars. No lotteries. This would be easy enough for them to do since they obviously don't start manufacturing till after the initial sale.

I know this thread is just for fun, but I honestly just dont think this is feasibly. The amount of time it would take for anything to get done at all would be unbearable to me. I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who likes keeping things limited ;; The lottery system is simply the fairest way to give everyone an equal chance (in theory, disregarding multiple entries) and I'd take that over Azone's bloodbath clickwars any day. I also just don't think this is something they're ''allowed" to do with licenses. I've never known a doll company to have a licensed character that wasn't limited in some way. Even Danny Choo, who famously said his dolls would never be limited, can no longer keep that promise now that he's realized how impossible that is for everyone besides his standards (and some of them have already been discontinued...), especially now that his customer base has grown. I think if Volks (or any company for that matter) actually did go ahead and make every doll preorder, we would see a lot less dolls, and I'd definitely prefer the variety. It already takes about a year to get a preorder doll as it is, and it would completely ruin the point of Dolpas, which are a big deal. Unless Dolpas became a way to get the new dolls earlier than everyone else (like, a LOT earlier) with an early lottery. But I don't even want to imagine the wait times that would result from something like this. I know the lotteries are the most complained about thing in this hobby but I'd actually hate them to change it. edit: stuff like selling licensed character heads separate or the dolls nude would also definitely be against the license agreement. No matter what we want the dolls for, the license-holders want you to buy a doll of that -character-, and that means everything that comes with it. But for their original dolls (the akihabara girls) it could be nice. for another thing I personally wish, I've said this previously but they seriously need more wigs. The official volks wigs, compared to other BJD brands, are extremely basic and lacklustre and most look pretty dated. Plus, all the best DD ones are D'Coord/Dream Choice and Doll Point exclusive. It's fine to have DP exclusive wigs, but it shouldn't be all the anime colours when they're...anime dolls, lol. *twitter*instagram*art*
Yukamina Posted September 5, 2017 Let's see... Higher quality wigs with beige wig caps for every color. More MDD releases. Higher number of dolls prepared for lotteries, so the win rate is higher. More actual DDS boy clothes. A proper DD boy body (not just a skinny little DDS boy with longer legs). Smaller time gap between new limited bodies and standard body/parts release (ex. DDS boy and DDP) That's what I can think of right now. My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

Lionel went to this model, only making as many as were ordered, and there are so many complainers. If it doesn't get produced exactly as the prototype image, they complain. And others won't buy until they can see it in person, then complain when there aren't any for them to buy. But for what I'd like to see, they've mostly been said. Brown eyes, and other color anime style eyes. More color in the wigs. For being anime dolls, they sure don't have the anime wig color choices to match. I also want to get the slips that only come with standard dolls for all my dolls. Being able to get bodies with other bust sizes.
Ie-Aster Posted September 5, 2017 Another vote here for making accessories available separate from license dolls. Actually, for making more prop/accessory sets available in general. I like miniatures a great deal but don't personally particularly like getting stuff from craft shops or kids' toys or random odds and ends that may not be exactly to scale, and I'd love to have more sets available from Volks directly--the cooking sets and weapons are a good start, but it'd be nice to have things like tea and coffee sets, school supplies, etc. ... basically like Re-Ment sets but in 1/3 scale*. *Re-Ment does have a few very nice sets in 1/3, but they're meant as phone straps so it's just one item per blind box. With the time it takes Volks to go from order to actual delivery, it would seem there would be enough time to negotiate the licensing agreement after Volks had a hard number of orders. Volks has been at this for some time. They should have a pretty good handle on how things go and how much they cost. In any case no matter what Volks does someone is not going to be happy about it. Oh yes! I would love more 1/3 scale accessories. Even if they cost a bit more than the other miniatures you can find out there. It is just so difficult sometimes to find 1/3 scale accessories that are high quality and not meant to be used as phone straps. Home: Hatsune Miku ♡
MarQ Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Before listings a few things, I would like to mention that all in all VOLKS is doing a great job. My wishes: - Faster shippment of orders. If an item is in stock it should be shipped on the next day or within 2 days. I don't get it why it takes them 5 days, 7 or sometimes even 10 days get the package on it's way. I do order many things at online stores from all over the world for my daily life and VOLKS is one of the slowest for shipping orders. - VOLKS homepage and webshop redesign. The VOLKS homepage is so confusing, unorganized and slow. Edited October 18, 2017 by Guest
SeirenMachina Posted September 15, 2017 My personal wishes: -More characters aimed at women. They've done this a fair bit recently, but more characters from typically feminine anime. Cardcaptors or Ouran for example for example. They need to realise internally that their market has grown so much, and there is a demand for these products. -More availability in the EU The US has a store, why not the EU? There is a market here and we wouldn't get gouged on import fees meaning ultimately more business for Volks. -Greater variety in eyes More styles and colours that are maybe a bit different. Cat eyes perhaps? Vampire eyes? Something that strays away from the cutesy shoujo look. -Elf ear caps!! They've made them twice now so it's clearly possible to manufacture them. They could do different styles and shapes too. -Line stuff in white or include a body stocking!!! Other than that, I uh dont really have any complaints. LexiKat13 Posted September 15, 2017 I would love to see more boy clothes too! I think it would be neat if yearly they did a "fan" doll where a hobbyist submits an original dolls or clothes and volks brings it to life or you pay additional to do so...yes i realize there are customs but i would love some of volks quality in that. I agree that the clothes need to be stain treated better. I recently bought a shirt from them and it stains horribly

I agree that the clothes need to be stain treated better. I recently bought a shirt from them and it stains horribly They do have contests where you can design and submit an outfit and they pick a couple to actually make (for general production, not just as a one-off), but I believe it's less frequent than yearly. I would like that to happen more often. It would be super cool if they had a sculpting competition too, for making a new vinyl head sculpt, but I highly doubt that would happen [kinda off topic: If you look especially on the resin side, there are people who make dolls' outfits with cut and quality on par or even better than Volks, but the cost is often very high due to the fact there's a lot of labor involved for a one-off piece. The cost of the item includes the full cost of developing the pattern and choosing the correct materials, whereas when a company does a run of say 1000 outfits, the cost of development is distributed across 1000 units so each unit is cheaper than it would be for a one-off. So even if Volks did have a "we'll make a custom outfit for you" service, the cost would still be very high because they'd be losing the economy of scale they normally have for large runs.] At home: Mei (DDP Lucy custom), Aku (DDB Takane custom) En route: L. Keijogirl Posted September 19, 2017 The only thing i would like to see from volks is just more normal clothes that don't look like a costume. Something you could actually see a person wearing would be amazing. I know dds are anime styled dolls but I'm definitely more in line with the less fantastical side of anime so I'd like to see some clothes from volks that actually look like outfits rather than costumes. Sayuri Posted September 24, 2017 Very interessing topic ! If I want to change something on volks ? hummm I want more casual clothes from them. Like jeans pant for exemple ! And I want more shoes in the volks set ... Before volks always put socks and shoes on set, now it's only top, skirt coat... No panty no socks no shos x___x whyyyy ? We love Volks shoes TTwTT
galatia9 Posted September 25, 2017 I'm not sure, but I think that more DD outfits come with shoes than the resin BJD outfits do! But I do wish all the outfits came with the shoes pictured. For a reasonable increase in price! It seems that the additional outfits for specific dolls come with shoes. Like the Idolmaster and Macross dolls' additional clothes, and Miku's. Monty Posted September 25, 2017 To be honest I'm glad most outfits don't come with shoes. Volks shoes are expensive enough on their own and I like the relatively low price the outfit sets come at. Besides, I don't need -that- many shoes. One pair can suit a variety of outfits. What would be nice is if they released matching shoes alongside each outfit release. They do this for a lot of them but not all. For example the candypop release, which came in SD and MSD size, came alongside these adorable MSD shoes that the doll was wearing in the photo, but no equivalent SD shoe! I'd have loved that shoe design in SD... *twitter*instagram*art*
Sayuri Posted September 25, 2017 What I wanted to say is that in the old set there were shoes and the price was not that expensive today. A set Volks costs an average of 6200 yen and a pair of 5000yens shoe, whereas in the past the complete set was cheaper with the shoes (it seems to me 8000yens) but I'm talking about that several years ago. In my eyes the problem is that there are not enough shoes in general in the Volks shop that do not make Lolita or boots. And for the shoes of the type idol master, I hate the shoes that I always find of poor quality (exept the Macross Frontier). That's why I want shoes in the best quality set or at least one pair available that would fit well with the set
