Whelp, Jeanne is paid for now. Next few weeks are going to be pins and needles. Luka is supposed to ship late November too, so I am hoping they both ship on the same day.

The Maid of Orléans has been paid for! ... and between Volks triggering my Bank's "omg, is this you!??!!?" charge decline & mini-freeze, and when it finally went thru the exchange rate shifted 10bucks in their favor and then Bank's foreign transaction fees.... *le sigh*

now we sit awaiting with bated breath for Xmas and Saint Jeanne's arrival!

They cut the feet off a bodysuit and stuffed the ends up into the bottom of the shin pieces. Theirs wasn't the full type but that shouldn't make a difference I don't think.

Mine has been wearing her full set since I got her. I can check her for any staining when I get home this evening. With all the lining on her dress I’m not sure a body suit is even needed.

The blue thread did stain I just saw in the second post linked above.

It seems it didnt take too much time.

No stains on mine after a few weeks of wear.

 

What you might want to do is check the coolcats website for the shorts or skirt style bodysuits. Saber has a white inner dress and petticoats, so her waist hips and legs are safe. The risk is to her upper chest / back, and her shoulders.

 

Coolcats has some with an open collar, but they may not protect her back as effectively. Big blue swath of zipper material there, but I saw no staining there either.

 

I’m in a low humidity area, and that may play a role.

 

Edit: One other note. If you plan on dressing her in her full armor then the opening in her bodice is irrelevant, and you could possibly use a shorts style long sleeved bodysuit with a high collar. I say possibly because the fit is very tight at the collar.

Altria's boots fits perfectly in the previous DDS body. I think that maybe someone at Volks did some kind of mistake.

 

PD: Anyone else has problems trying to fix the chestplate?

Someone went and created a Saber shield. It's based on Nero's, but I figured people might not be picky about it with all the Sabers coming home. Not seeing a way to hold it though, so I asked about that.

They cite production issues just like with Luka so I suspect it's not problems with the dolls, but rather a production line problem.

She's a little like a grumpier Saber to me.

wondering if she'd be a decent sculpt for Waver or not...

She's a nice sculpt, though I feel her eyes are really far apart as made clear in this picture from one of your links:

I think she was sculpted like that so that the headgear works and looks right, but that it makes her look a little odd otherwise. It could just be me though as I think that I always find the DDs with wider spaced smaller eyes (i.e. KOS-MOS) to look odd. It's not just dolls; I find figures or anime art like that to be odd as well. I'm crazy.

She is lovely. Sigh, to have enough money to adopt every DD girl Volks makes.

Darn, I love her! Seeing owner picks makes me regret not ordering her. . . . . . . well, until I think of the doll I would not have been able to get if I had ordered her - now I do not feel too bad. Depending on how available she is later, I might see about picking her up in a few years. Jean is definitely my kind of doll.

Yep! I’m in the first batch and got my shipping notice early this morning!

 

Excited for the long wait to be over! Though I’m admittedly a little nervous- I’ve seen multiple people on twitter having troubles with the armor. Most specifically, the little cross pieces that are attached to the hinges on the bottom of the armor (not sure what this is called- the faulds??) are prone to snapping off. I hope this isn’t a huge problem, since I would love to display and pose her dressed in her gear.

Is Volks providing new black leg pegs for Saber because of the issues? I recently received mine from Y!J, and there were some in a small baggie packaged outside of the armor that I haven’t seen in other unboxing images.

Mine came like that too, and I got mine in October straight from Volks.. It is in my unboxing photos, but they are sitting on top of the booklet so they are a bit hard to notice.

Well my Jeanne arrived today! Have a bad phone photo:

 

 

She's really beautiful and her face is very gentle and charming. She looks very reminiscent of Altria, but different enough that she is her own girl. To anyone worried about her eyes being too far apart- in my opinion, they aren't. Her face is very lovely and looks great with or without the headgear.

 

I haven't fully unpacked her gear yet if only because I'm moving(!??!) in two weeks and I want to keep everything safe while my life is a hectic mess. I haven't unpacked my Saber for this reason, though Jeanne was too hard to resist.

 

The armor is super detailed, though it's a lot thinner than I expected (thinner than Altria's anyway). It feels very fragile, so I recommend careful handling when she arrives. The head gear fits like a headband, although I still haven't fit it on her quite right (keeps sliding down). The wig is lovely and had an elastic band on the bottom (God forbid you ever need to unbraid it, I assume you can). The bow is separate and made of a stretchy fabric. The main dress is white lined, and she also comes with a pair of flesh colored panty hose for stain prevention (that was unexpected to me!).

 

The flag is HUGE and takes up the entire box! The flag pole is also so long, it comes in three parts. The sword, La Pucelle, is beautifully crafted and is a special piece even on it's own. I think it's one of the most detailed weapon pieces I've ever received from Volks.

 

Overall, worth the wait! My only complaint- my girl has a huge shiny glue?gloss?paint? smear across her face. It's not visible in photos, so I don't know if I should say anything. I was able to tone it down a little by rubbing it gently with a towel and water. It's still there so...maybe my Jeanne just gets a battle scar. ,_,

 

If anyone has any particular questions, feel free to ask. I don't know how I got mine so fast, since most people I know are still waiting. o_o;;

Oh my goodness, she looks amazing! That phot is really nice too, it gives off a very ethereal feel IMO. And I LOVE her outfit! That's such a nice fit for her and it's sexy too.

Thanks for the input! I do remember the Sheryl faceup debacle; I will shoot them a message and see what they say. I've purchased a lot of dolls from Volks (^^; over the years, so I hope they'll be understanding. Perhaps they will offer some suggestion of how to fix her without sending her back.

 

That said, if anyone else has encountered strange shiny spots on their girl's faces before and have a suggestion of how to de-shine it, I would love to know. This spot is shiny and also slightly sticky (?), which is a very curious thing I have not encountered before.

Can you believe I've been saving this outfit set for her for over a year now? XD It's from M + V studio, if your girls require it for their closets. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the shapely bust, since most of my girls just have the regular L, but it fills out clothes quite nicely! I think she'll end up keeping this bust on for a while.

 

Also, if you ever get the chance to get your hands on the weapons, I recommend it! I think your girls would certainly enjoy them if you ever get to add them to your armory. XD

I was considering this exact same outfit for my incoming 2B but thought I was crazy to start buying so soon for her. I’m glad others do the same thing! It suits Jeanne well and she looks gorgeous.

 

Shame to hear about the weird defect on her face. Hope Volks can give you some tips on how to fix it. If I received and bonded with a girl I don’t think I could send her back, defect or no defect.
