FGO X Dollfie Dream : Jeanne d'arc and Saber

I found out about Dollfies a couple months after this preorder, so I missed out. If anyone doesn’t want their Saber preorder anymore, I’ll gladly take it over. Please PM me.

Volks USA requested payment for the iM@S preorders around the same time I paid for international orders. I can’t recall the exact time gap, but it was within a few weeks. You then wait about two months for the doll to ship over from Japan. I suspect they pay for the dolls at the same time everyone else does, but only after they collect money from the customers, and then international ships to them. I think the USA payment window was shorter than the international one.

 

Ruler is expected to be ready a month after Altria, and payment will be spaced out. That information should still be on the Volks International site.

 

I’ll see if I can dig up my payment request emails.

I was wrong there wasn't any gap between the US and the Volks International batch 1 payment requests. I got them both on October 4th 2017.

 

Volks International gave me until November 13th to pay for Anastasia.

 

Volks USA gave me until October 16th to pay for Yayoi.

 

Yayoi shipped to me from Volks USA on December 13th.

I know how that feels. I think it was about a week or two (somewhere under a month) after Saber Extra's preorder that my husband and I joined the forums. I was so utterly frustrated to have missed her by such a small margin. So I've had a 'Saber character' waiting for 6 years to be able to do and started to think I'd never get around to tracking the head down. So I already knew when she popped up again that there was no option. I was not going to miss out again.

DDS Altria will be shipped first followed by DD Jeanne in one or two months.

Don' worry! You do not need to pay for the both in one payment.

Personally I'd prefer two months in between and I hope enough Sabers were preordered to make it get pushed back, but at the same time I hope it isn't like it was with Saber Extra. That was a bit of a fiasco.

 

*rereads the quote* Okay Volks, I'm gonna to trust you. Your "Don' worry" somehow seems really convincing right now. I will repeat that to myself (in a Jamaican accent, possibly followed by "mon") when I start worrying about the payment for "the both" girls.

Thank you SO much for this info! With International preorders I'm so used to having saving squared away by the end of Aug. that I was really starting to freak that I wouldn't have the amount for both girls until the end of Sept. due to Luka, medical bills, and some other financial obligations. But with the payments to Volks also being staggered it relieves my stress somewhat.

You're welcome, and it's good thing I am an email pack-rat.

 

I'd only caution that Volks always seems to be changing / refining their processes, so I'd be prepared for the unexpected. (Sometimes I think they find making it different every time to be fun, and part of the enjoyment of the events.)

 

Edit: One other note here. It would not surprise me if they got enough orders for both dolls to result in them being split into multiple batches based on date of order. Given how expensive original saber is after-market, and how impressive looking Ruler is, I suspect they got a ton of orders for these girls even at the price they were sold at.

Awhile back I said I would take some comparison photos with DDS and Saber's weapons & armor in order for people get an idea of how well they might fit the new DDS Altria, and if it's worth it to pick them up.

 

Barring a delay in production we should be hearing an announcement about delivery schedule soon.

 

I took them awhile ago, but only just got around to processing them. Since the release date is almost here I figured it was now or never. Plus someone gave me a kick.

Of all the dolls open for voting in the 20th, Lily is probably the one of the top candidates to actually win. If she does get a re-release she will probably have a similar price to the recent Saber pre-orders, so roughly ¥110,000.

 

I think there may be one or two DDs that are more expensive than she is, but I am not sure about that.

Using Mandarake pricing as a guide, she's the most expensive one I know of and has gone up recently. She now sells there for 280,000 yen for an unused one. I think she has gone up since the beginning of this year.

I might've missed something, but that's most of the 150K and above dolls. 120K is starting to look nearly reasonable.

 

If price is actually a reflection of desirability, Saber Lily should've been high in the voting. Since Jeanne and Saber are coming it's also safe to assume Volks has or can easily enough renew a license to make her so she does seem like she has a real chance of being rereleased.

 

I believe Miki Hoshii is the only DDS anywhere near that expensive so her chances seem good as well; however since that voting round was for DDS and DDdy I don't know if that means Volks is only going to release a single doll from the combined categories?

No, Jeanne was expected 1 - 2 months after Altria. Volks made a point of telling people they wouldn't have to pay for both at once.

 

Having just bought Kaede, I won't be paying for Altria till October.

Awwwww yeah!!!! I was wondering when I'd hear from them about my Saber! As soon as the preorders opened at midnight, AsianEd and I were online doing them. LOL So I should be in the first batch of people to get emails and the girls. That makes me super happy! I've already got the money set aside for her so once I get that email, she'll be paid for. Then I just have to wait til next month and she'll finally be here.

Well after so much stress this year in saving, then Raven's Luka butting in, having to add in a lot of equipment in our kitchen to compensate for my change in mobility, Raven being in the hospital/having surgery (to clean an infection out of his hand that intense antibiotics weren't touching), and him on sick leave for a month... I have been terrified I wouldn't be able to save for Ruler in time.

 

I still don't know the time delay between Int. and USA but hearing that Ruler is shipping starting Nov. 24 for Int. finally was able to stop the stress cycle. I have been a nervous wreck for the last three months thinking that having to save until Oct. 11 would not be in time. I knew that I'd at least have Saber saved for, but even for a time I thought I might have to sell off my preorders. Yeah, it has been a stressful year to say the least.

 

I really enjoy the preorders but after doing them for so many years the novelty of it is really starting to wear off. Life has just gotten a lot more complicated and this year long wait period is so very hard to maintain. It's taught me that I can save a lot more than I expected for things that matter to me but the severely delayed gratification is not rewarding as it once was. It's just stressful for me anymore. I can really see the value in the stance towards the preorders of just buying one of the extras from the forums that always seem to be sold off for various reasons once the girls finally ship. I'm tired of being in debt to Volks.

 

Despite that I can finally just enjoy the fact that all should be well and good with my new DD. I'm still a bit baffled that I get a new Saber. Due to Baldylox posting tons of pics after the last Saber preorder 6 years ago, I so very unwillingly grew to really like the sculpt. Even if I was still pissed off that she caused a major body shortage. So yeah, she was another I detested in the beginning, but it had nothing to do with the sculpt. Over time I still mused of what I'd even do if I got her sculpt secondhand at some point and a character developed out of that. But the reality of having her new hasn't sunk in.

 

All this time and I finally just thought "Who's going to have such pretty hair?" after realizing after my character conversions I'll have at least one extra wig. It's SO nice only getting one DD shipped at a time. So when they arrive I can just spend time with one and give them a chance to figure out who they are without being crowded by other new arrivals. Plus my energy levels will only stretch so thin. Getting 3 girls at once was really hard.

 

I think without a doubt Prince Tama will claim Saber's crown... I have some thoughts on how that would work and who Saber will be and I'm starting to snicker already. Still not sure what I think about having more works in progress but it is what it is.

 

Finally getting around to watching Fate/Zero and Fate Stay Night since Netflix has them (along with Fate Apocrypha and Fate Last Encore.) I know absolutely nothing about the Fate series and pretty much only know the DD and what they look like. So, this will be interesting. At least there are some voice actor's voices I recognize in Fate /Zero. Nice change from watching subtitled Chinese shows.

 

Looking forward to seeing what everyone does with their Sabers & Rulers! May they all have safe trips home.

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA! I enabled you without even trying to! I should try and reign that ability in a bit more huh? But you know I won't. I'm glad you like the Saber head tho because she really is a beauty no matter what clothing or wig setup you put her in.

 

I think without a doubt Prince Tama will claim Saber's crown...

 

This made me smile and then laugh. I cannot wait to see His Eminence Tama all dressed to the nines with that crown ( and probably the cape too ) !

Yeha, interesting is one way to describe what you're about to see. You're going to find characters you love and ones you hate. And ones you love to hate..... I'm looking at YOU Gilgamesh. Blue Saber is just about the same character across all anime iterations so she's an easy one to figure out. Red Saber on the other hand is the exact opposite of Blue. You'll see what I mean.

 

I have yet to get my email for payment on Saber yet and I'm hoping to see it sooner than l ater because I want to give them my money as soon as I can so I'll get my Saber in time for the Halloween doll meet we're having on October 27th. She would be the main attraction for me for sure.

re: The Fate series, all you really need to know (as far as anime goes) is that /Stay Night and /Zero are the only ones that have anything to do with each other (/Zero is a prequel to /Stay Night) while pretty much -everything else- is a spin-off or AU that assumes you have a vague understanding of the rules of the Fate universe.

So while people will fight eternally over whether its better to watch /Zero or /Stay Night first, the correct answer is 'one of them'....but you dont want to start with one of the spinoffs that will confuse the hell out of you, because honestly they can be confusing enough even when you do understand wtf the characters are talking about or have actually played the game they're based on. (lookin at you, /Extra: Last Encore.)

 

anyway, speaking of Saber's crown: is anyone willing to part with theirs? I am very interested in getting just the crown she comes with, so if anyone doesn't want it let me know and we can discuss prices.

Back during the iM@S pre-orders the Volks USA payment deadline was a bit before the ship date. I think it was no more than a couple of days, but it's been awhile and I don't recall for certain.

Dug up my email from Volks USA.

 

Payment to Volks USA was due Oct 16th, and Volks Int had the first shipment batch leaving Oct 14th Japan time, so the 13th our time. It looks like payment was due a few days after, and not before.

 

No guarantee it will be the same this year, but you may have a bit of wiggle room around Nov 24th. I think it was 12 days total payment window from Volks USA.

 

Given the cost of the dolls I would hope they give people more time this year, but since they seem to get all their dolls shipped in bulk I expect there won't be a big delay from the time Japan starts shipping.

Good luck with that. I know I agreed to a split for her full outfit, which I intend to keep, even with the lack of income. And I'm pretty sure everyone that knows my little family will know who really will end up with the crown...

Has anyone who put in for Saber gotten their email to pay for her yet? I know there's still all of today and tomorrow to receive one but so far I haven't heard of anyone getting them yet. I was just wondering if Volks is being Volks again with slow releases on info and emails.

I'm guessing the paypal bit is because it would be problematic to relink it to their main store for the next four months, so they are just sending invoices instead.
