FGO X Dollfie Dream : Jeanne d'arc and Saber

I was considering this exact same outfit for my incoming 2B but thought I was crazy to start buying so soon for her. I’m glad others do the same thing! It suits Jeanne well and she looks gorgeous.

 

Shame to hear about the weird defect on her face. Hope Volks can give you some tips on how to fix it. If I received and bonded with a girl I don’t think I could send her back, defect or no defect.

 

GO FOR IT! It's a very classy outfit. My only complaint is that the corset is a bit difficult to put on. So as long as you are okay with some disassembly to get it on her, I'd recommend it.

I suspect if you had to send her back, the doll, or her head if it was just the head they wanted back, would end up on the trash heap. Just a guess on my part, but it's probably more cost effective for them to just replace her than it would be to redo the faceup. If you just wanted the face fixed then you probably need to send her to a faceup artist and have her wiped and re-painted.

Guys.. guys.. u do not understand how MASSIVE her banner is! The pole needs to be assembled from multiple parts!!

Also to answer any future "does it stain?" - the outfit comes with a body stocking. From the start, that should answer everything

 

and just a point of interest, the "sandals" part of her foot armor actually comes apart. Do be careful, those tiny pegs are tiny...

Also some of the armor left a greasy residue on my fingers while unpacking. Probly just 'vinyl sweats' from being packed, be aware

Altria's box was the same, it's much deeper than Extra's. This probably didn't happen with Kos-Mos because the cloth parts of her outfit don't take much space.

 

My Jeanne just shipped early this morning, so I have my fingers crossed she will show up on Saturday. Customs at Christmas time though...

It may be due to fact each new Saber-face has more and more stuff included with her! ...and Volks learning new packaging tricks...

 

orig Saber back in the day came in the smallest box. She was on a cushion over all her stuff which was nestled into each other

 

Nero was lifted 'higher' by her badass armored boots and massive blade. F/GO Saber came with extra armored hand sets and now Jeanne rolls in on top of a freakin armory complete with extra armored hands, sword with belt and scabbard, and massive banner!!

and unlike ancient releases - the armor is now carefully spread out in a clear plastic tray, each piece in its own lil groove. Takes up even more space O_o;

New arrival photos please??? I passed on Jean and would love to see true owner pics! Especially of her beautiful face!

To answer an earlier question. Her eyes are spaced slightly wider, maybe 1/8 of an inch in total. She looks great though, and I had to hold her up to another doll and look really closely to even tell there was a difference. It's pretty subtle.

 

Her dress needs some serious ironing, and her braid doesn't have a wire in it for posing. I'm not even sure anymore if Volks called that out, or if we just assumed it from the photos, but no wire.

There's just certain things in design of these dolls, or anime character design in general, that stick out as looking weird to me; eyes, especially smaller eyes, where the distance between them is significantly larger than the size of the eyes themselves is one of those things.

 

From pictures posted here by Cinnamoron and Chise, I can see she looks nice, but she does have that issue for me. It's not just that they did it for the headgear though I'm sure, as she's not the only DD I feel this way about; KOS-MOS is another one that comes to mind and I know there are some others.

 

My tastes are just weirdly picky. Which is actually good because it keeps me from wanting every single DD Volks releases. There are enough I do want anyway...

Got her fully assembled today. Pretty sure her spear is officially the longest weapon Volks has made.

Here are some shots of my three new arrivals. Altria came a month ago, but I kind of wanted to put her in the photos with Jeanne. Usagi photo bombed them.

 

I included Jeanne's spear so you can see the scale, but I didn't add the pennant because I don't really have a good way to support it, and it needs some support other than the wire inside of it. Still, you can see the spear is almost twice as tall as Jeanne.

 

Looking at Jeanne makes wonder what Joan of Arc would think if she knew that someday there would a doll like this with her name on it? Most DD aren't based on ancient historical figures who have become cultural icons in the modern age, so she's a bit unusual. She's bloody gorgeous. There is just something about her full-set that is really elegant.

I havent gotten anything yet either. I'm starting to get a little anxious. I really hope she'll be able to go under the tree.

This was all I could find in this thread on the shipping schedule.

 

I just got my payment email as well! For Volks USA Saber ships late December 2018 & Ruler late January 2019. You can have them shipped together but then they would be shipped out late January. I'd rather pay the little extra to get Saber sooner.

 

LA Customs is probably really swamped right now, so international shipping delays are possible. If you want an update I would email Volks USA or message them on Facebook. I'd also suggest watching their Facebook for any arrival announcements.

 

When the dolls arrive they will probably take a few days to inspect them for damage, and for package completeness before shipping them out to owners.

If by some chance the black pegs for her armored feet are too tight on the internal leg frame, there is an earlier post in the thread by Billy explaining how to fix it.

 

I think Volks started shipping them with replacements for that part, so you shouldn’t have the issue.

Thank you, Wolf! I actually saw Billy's post a while back and have some sandpaper in a little box with all of her other items just in case. Hopefully I won't need to sand them down but if worse comes to worse I'm prepared. These next few days are going to be painful though. I want her here now. lol

She also has weird paint scuffs in some places but they are small. The most noticeable one is on the back of her hand Ofc.

 

Edit: she has a huge gash in the paint on her left armored hand so I emailed Volks USA about it. I hope they get back to me soon...

I don't have that issue with the breastplate, but it has to be carefully fit over her clothing. The legs are more problematic, but mostly that's only if I am handling them. She's had no issue with the armor staying on while on a doll stand.

Quick question. What is the weight of Altria box? Mine is going to my shopping service, but I think they send me the wrong weight....
