Volks September collection

The Folk dresses are interesting. The embroidery reminds me of Frozen, so would that make it more Scandinavian style embroidery? Hmmm, I'll have to look that up this weekend because now I really want to know why that style of embroidery looks so familiar to me.

 

Yup, they're definitely inspired by traditional Scandinavian costumes. I grew up in a heavily Norwegian population and wore a Bunad for special events when I was a little girl, and these have a similar look and feel (although the original folklore outfits were closer).

 

I am REALLY disappointed that, for two of the outfits, they attached the bustier to the skirt. If they had been separate (so you could mix/match), I would buy them in a heartbeat. But since they're attached, I'm not sure I will...

 

Awesome! My eye was on point yesterday! I wish they were mix and match too. That's the only thing that's making me hesitate on looking at the small bust version, because I like it, but I'm not sure if I like it that much.

Um... I am debating getting the training sets for my DD boys, but the outfits don't look like they're lined, and the colours are rather dark. What would you think the risks are?

The sneakers in White base and either blue stripes (shown in the blue suit picture), or red stripes 10(+) stock each on Volks international... found under SD13 size.

 

the black and white stripe combo however is sold out at the moment.

Are the DDP girls using new hand sculpts? They don't seem strangely huge :/

Maybe because the hands look a tad small on the DD girls? I mean, their large hands look very natural on them too, and they're quite a bit bigger... just a guess, I can't tell if they are new hands, but they don't look like it.

Just so you know there's a whoooole lot more clothes in volks news and some absolutely awesome Halloween outfits, but those shoes are also getting rereleased it seems. I'll wait for the usual links and upload anything that doesn't get posted.

Hahahaha! It seems I have singlehandedly forced Volks to make thumbs up hands! Seeing as how I was the one who challenged Danny with making them for the Smartdolls and he actually was able to pull it off, I find it awesome and hilarious that Volks has now decided to make their own versions.

 

How long did it take them to make THE hand sign from anime? YEARS. I mean really, I asked Danny this too when he asked for ideas for things for the SmD girls before they were first released. What one hand sign does almost every anime character make on TV? The thumbs up! Seriously, almost all anime characters toss up the thumbs up on shows! Why hadn't Volks made one yet even tho lots of it's character dolls were from anime? From what Danny told me, it's extremely hard to get those hands out of the molds when they get made. I'm not exactly sure what Danny did to make it easier but he figured it out and made them. I suppose now that he made them, Volks was kind of forced to do the same. Which, again, is hilarious to me.
