Bigger MDD Busts [And Seeking Head Opinions]

Only having one MDD is starting to wear on me (As we all know, the natural order of things is to have an even number of MDDs.) so I'm starting to think about her character. I want a less sweet and childish MDD, you know the good old adult in a child's body anime troupe. But I also wanted her to be more adult in appearance. Can someone post side profiles of the MDD option busts please? Volks only shows frontals, but that doesn't let me know how big they really are. Most Volks clothes list all three bust sizes, but her outfit choices will be more like the two from cheerydoll below.

 

 

 

When buying you have to select S or M bust, so M may be just what I get, but I want to know how much bigger L is.

 

And that also leads me to head selection. Rena (AKA 01) is the MDD standard, but I have one, and she doesn't look adult enough for me. What other heads would you all recommend for an adult MDD that dresses like above? She'll also be a SWS skinned girl, thinking with grey twin tail hair and purple eyes.

I've got all 3 MDD bust sizes for my girls but I don't have any photos of them where you can see the differences in them. But I'm off work tomorrow due to Irma so I should be able to get some side shots of the busts for you.

 

As for heads, one of my MDD girls, Nami, is the oldest girl in the family and is Manami's older sister. She is a closed eye 03 head and looks quite mature in my opinion. And she actually likes dress styles similar to the ones you linked to.

As for other mature heads, I love the 05. I'm just not sure how one would look on an MDD body. Maybe I'll try one of mine out on an MDD body tomorrow just to see how it looks.

For a more mature head... I think DDH01 + DDH10 can pull it off, it just depends on the face up imo. Stuff like ddh01, ddh10, ddh01.... I think the similarities between them all is that they are less smiley and more serious looking? It could just be me tho lol. DDH10 might work better since it has a more defined nose compared to DDH01, looking at the three I linked... DDH10 felt the most mature.

 

For other molds... I'm not really sure.. Maybe DDH06 or DDH08? Rin looks nice as an MDD, not really sure how mature you want your MDD to look though;;;

I plunked my 05 prepaint onto my MDD for a second to try this out (nevermind the NS on SWS), and here's the result:

 

 

First impression was that it's way too big, but then the more you look at it the more it seems okay. I feel like that happens most of the time with DD-size heads on MDD, you get used to the size if the face works. As for a mature look, well...the prepaint 05 might not be the best gauge for that, haha. I've seen 05s with a pretty broad range of faceups but this one skews pretty young and innocent.

Thanks Billy, if you can get those photos, that would be really helpful. As for the closed eyes, it's hard for me to get a feel for it without seeing the eyes. But I drawn to hold the sleeping Nami. Something about her just makes you want to keep rocking her in her sleep.

 

Ayuuya, I really love that DDH10 head. She would be good. Does anyone want to be my proxy and help me get it?

 

Ryo, that head does look too big, but yes, the faceup doesn't quite work, perhaps Billy will have something up his sleeve when he tries it.

I think DDP would work well for this trope, and she would still be able to mostly share clothes with your MDD, too! You'd have to wait a bit, though.

Ok, I finally got power back ( after almost 13 hours! ) but it was 2:30am when it came on so I didn't upload anything until now.

 

First off, I wasn't meaning to tell you I thought JUST the closed eye 03 head would be a suitable mature looking head.... I mean *I* think it is but I also think the regular open eyed version is too.

 

Second, both my 05 head girls are the same as the one above.... that is, the Volks prepainted one, so I didn't try that out.

 

And lastly, here's the pics! I did several angles so you can see the busts differently. First up is a group shot of the 3 girls modeling for us today. From left to right is Luna with the Small bust, Kino with the Medium bust and Nami with the Large bust.

The small bust is REALLY small and flat but it's perfect for most of my girls.

Personally I think the Medium should be considered a Large just because of the size and shape. That's just me tho. But speaking of large....... here's the big mamma jamma large bust, from the front!

To me, this one looks more like a DDdy version bust for an MDD. The shape and look of them is really close to the full sized DDdy girls in my opinion. But since Nami is the oldest girl in my DD family and she's also Manami's older sister, she *HAD* to have some boobs. Thus, she got the large bust.

From what I've come across, most outfits from Volks that list as fitting the L-bust are almost too small for a proper fit. Those seem to work better on the M-bust in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, the clothes DO fit the L-bust, they just sometimes look a bit.... stressed.

 

But aftermarket stuff from Alices Collections and other similar places are quite roomy and fit Nami with no problem. But they weren't so roomy as to look odd on a smaller bust either. I think fitment is going to depend on the maker of the clothing.

 

If I were you, I'd buy one of each bust and try things out from there. It's always good to have spares, you never know when you'll need them!
