kinkachou Posted September 15, 2017 (edited) (Title is taken from a stage in Um Jammer Lammy-- I always thought the name of that level was cute ) Last week, after flying to LA for Dolpa and then arriving home on Labor Day, I ended up having to work 6 days in a row, starting the day after I got back. I normally work 4 shifts a week, and have pulled 4 in a row at times-- even 5, once or twice-- but it seems like 6 in a row is my cap, because I ended up getting sick. This past Monday, my first day off after that entire ordeal, some clothes and eyes I had bought from Gunter arrived in the mail. Between trying to quiet my throbbing head and satiate my body's seemingly endless desire for sleep, I managed to get Fuyumi's new eyes in (and wig on), and also dressed the girls in their new outfits. I immediately fell in love with what I saw-- my girls are always adorable, but this was almost too much! They looked like they could have been giving quite a performance. I just had to take some photos and let them show off a bit! Sometimes, I'm not sure how I'd get by without my girls (hence the title choice) Edited November 11, 2017 by Guest Black lives matter. Ie-Aster Posted September 15, 2017 They look super cute! I love those outfits, and each girl's ensemble suits her coloring so well. Seriously, they look like they could be modelling for a J-fashion magazine. I hope you get better soon/are feeling better now At home: Mei (DDP Lucy custom), Aku (DDB Takane custom) En route: L. Gabriel Posted September 16, 2017 Fuyumi is heart-achingly cute. I also really like her shoes. Chiruri is heart-breakingly gorgeous. Those red eyes and how they seem so luminous! They definitely make quite a pair. I like how they're dressed as mirrors of the other (where one is wearing a white article of clothing the other is wearing a pink article and vice versa). I think my favorite image is the first one. Fuyumi doesn't seem to mind being haunted.
kinkachou Posted September 17, 2017 Chise: I happen to have a little tea set! If we can find ourselves a big enough basket, we'll be all set to go Maybe a doll leaf-peeping party? Ie-Aster: I was a little worried at first about how they would look, but everything was so well coordinated in the end that I'm completely happy with both sets The set Ruri is wearing also comes with a little knit winter hat, which I'm sure everyone will see eventually-- it just didn't seem to fit the mood for this photoshoot. Speaking of fashion mags, when I went to Dolpa I got one of those mini Volks News magazines... I'd love to have or make a few more mini magazines for the girls to flip through together. Eiko would probably keep them all to herself, though Eiko82, milkymarshmallow, Ayuuya: Thank you so much!! I think they were both a little shy at first, but after a few shots they started to have fun with everything. Maybe I'll have to break down and get those idol hands... Gabriel: Thank you! Both of my girls are very grateful for and even a little flustered by your compliments Fuyumi's shoes are actually a really old pair I have from Leekeworld. They go with everything, but unfortunately the heels are made of rubber and are rather soft, so they make it difficult for the wearer to stand without help. She's not one for glitzy things usually, but I thought these suited her for this photoshoot. I actually got a lot of comments on Ruri's eyes at Dolpa-- they're Ersa Flora eyes and they're beautiful in natural light. Best decision I've made for her look, hands down. I honestly didn't realized until the sets showed up that they were opposites, but it works so well for the two of them. Originally I had Fuyumi in the sweater (she's an icicle woman and all), but it looked really huge and goofy on her and I'm glad I made the switch. Ruri basically clings to Fuyumi to the point where you could call her Fuyumi's shadow I've explained it to others as Ruri being the Homura to Fuyumi's Madoka, but hopefully their story doesn't end up as twisted and tragic as their magical girl counterparts. Meguchi Posted November 12, 2017 Great Photos! Do Volks News Magazines really come in those sizes?
kinkachou Posted November 12, 2017 Raine, missadventure364 - Thanks so much! I really do try to keep them dressed well/semi-realistically. Raine, their names are Fuyumi (called 'Fuumi' by Ruri and a few others, DDH-06) and Chiruri ('Ruri' for short, DDH-07). Ie-Aster - they just looked so happy together that I couldn't help myself. Some of the music I was listening to ( ) probably contributed as well. I also got a few shots of Mami and Hacchi that I thought were cute, but I'm not certain I like them enough to post them here. Meguchi - Thank you! I got the little Volks News as a gift or a prize at LA Dolpa. I can't remember if it was something I won when playing the cap gun game, or if it was something that came as a part of the Tea Party welcome bag. I thought I've read other people saying that VIP members who order the actual magazine get mini ones, too-- can anyone confirm this? Black lives matter.
