Danny shipped these out fast. My Melody is here in time for Christmas. So excited!

I saw her come available on twitter and actual site, but was hesitant because I prefer to buy a doll in person. Well that problem was quickly solved. Sold out in half a day lol. I'm happy for Danny though, to work so hard on her and for her to sell out so quickly. Especially considering he's a "start up" in the industry.

 

But Danny did say Melody will become a regular stock model so she'll be back. There is still hope!

 

Personally, I rather like Melody with Starlight's hair. Danny posted a picture on twitter some month's back with this combo, but didn't explain who she was because Melody wasn't totally official yet. Was just such a great combination.

I'm (im)patiently waiting for Melody to be back in stock. I was still unsure during her first release, but now I'm set on getting her as a late xmas present to myself. Somewhere Danny Choo's instagram says she'll be back "in January" so I was pretty much checking the page every few hours come the 1st... because like a fool I misread that she originally sold out in 2 hours rather than 12. Now that I know I'll be getting some warning I'm not as obsessive haha.

 

I already have a character planned, but is it a bad thing that I'll be keeping her name as Melody(though it won't be the main thing she goes by), even though she'll be my own character? IDK if it's too similar since I'll be keeping her looks the same as well.

 

Anyway, hopefully Mels will be my first full-sized vinyl doll! I'm used to resin but looking forward to the change since I think I'll be a bit more comfortable with something less fragile.

It isn't bad if you want to keep the name Melody. I think it is a pretty name.

Anyone hear anything about how many Melodys were in the first batch?

Looks like she sold out again 'cause I don't see her anymore. Damn, that girl in popular!! I think she sold out in like 2 hours!

Danny posted on Face Book a map of north America showing how many dolls were sold in 5 minutes I counted the markers and it was about 60 dolls sold in North America is 5 minutes

I am not surprised she's that popular. I've generally not liked the Smart Doll face sculpts and faceups; not sure if it's the overall flatness or something else, but when I first saw Melody I thought she was very pretty and immediately thought to myself how she was the first one I liked and would consider owning.

Been refreshing Melody page with alot cloths in cart since 4pm (GMT +1 since it's midnight Tokyo time) till 1am...EVEN during driving from work to home,I did refresh every 5 min. But got woken up by a push notification around 4am

Kinda wanted to buy the mini light stand also but sadly...my car need some new tires soon so I can only spend this much for this month or else I might buy even more (so the wonderful custom can get even more ridiculous taxes for doing nothing but holding my package for 1-2 week while sipping their coffee)

I do tend to pick the cloths light color. I'm always scared to get stains. So I'm a bit scared from the jeans but it look so good

 

I also might order something next month (summer outfits) and a T-shirt that I want to print something on it myself

I have to admit, I love the way Smart Doll clothing is packaged. Just looking at your photos makes me want to go on a huge shopping spree! I look forward to seeing your photos of Melody!

It's good of Danny to be willing to lower the value, because those customs charges really stack up. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that one day we'll get a dealer in Europe for Smart Doll products.

Danny & his team really did help out at the custom. If they didn't do it, then I would had to pay like triple the money. SADLY, he just tweet saying short hairstyle wig for Melody & it look amazing

Now I feel I want that too...too much goodies
