Spotted this on MyFigureCollection. I haven't succeeded in hunting down the original source.

Such a shame, they have so many lovely designs from Million Live, even a couple of tanned girls they could have tried.

What, Yuriko?? I didn't see that coming at all. I like her as a character, but not overwhelmingly so. I hope she looks great as a DD(S? Or maybe DDP.. probably DDS). Since she's in 765pro I wonder what outfit Volks will put her in. Like all the Million Live girls she has her own outfit in the same style the original imas girls:

But since she's still in a sort of different branch they don't have to follow tradition as much. Her casual clothes are fine, but I'd really like this outfit since it's her first unique costume in the newest ML game:

Huh, so I guess it was a new girl. There might be new info at that event they were going to be at on the 7th (I'm surprised to see it so early if this is legit).

I kind of expected to see Kaede first though. Noooo Volks you're throwing off all my predictions for when Luka and 2B/ 9S are coming out! Unless they're ramping up their usual release schedule and will release more than usual in one year.

But one thing to keep in mind is that these are still teasers.

 

Its hilarious the pre-order dolls that are confirmed a year away are the only announced items with actual product pictures to offer.

 

I think Takane was the quickest tease to relase at around 6 months from the scoop tease, while Rin Shibuya took 9 months or something? (though, I dont think Ranko was teased at all before hand for the first edition rin pairing.), and Kagamine Rin was 12 months from tease to release.

 

So keep calm and keep speculating, but for the next dollpa, for all we know they might even put out a Mitsurugi Meiya, or Yui Takamura just to troll folks and revisit some old IP's.... But i've been wrong before.

It's not a bad series. I haven't played the games, but I watched the TV series, and the Xenoglosia spin off. The show was surprisingly well done given the subject material. It was treated as an ensemble cast, with each girl getting decent focus, and with a central story driving it forward. The characters were well thought out and each was unique.

 

Something tells me it wasn't an honest behind the scenes look at the J-Idol scene. It was way too innocent to be truthful.

 

I wouldn't go so far as to call it high art, but I see why it is popular.

It is really popular and makes $$$$. Liking it doesn't really mean much when those two elements are in play.

They’re similar, but not identical. I think their mistake is all the smiling faces. I think they did the molds well overall, but should have captured the expressions better. Some of those girls should have more serious look. Chihaya is one of my favorites, and she’s a very serious character. Her face smiles a bit too much in the Volks mold. Takane is very introspective and imo Volks did a good job giving her a more serious expression.

 

The only two heads, of the ones I have, that really look similar are Mio and Uzuki.

Yuriko is a cute character but such a random choice. I think it would have been better to make Hibiki or another more popular character but hey Volks, you do you.

It makes me wonder if Million Live is going to be treated as it’s own line like Cinderella Girls. I wouldn’t mind that as long as they finish the originals. I’m not really keen on Ami and Mami, but Azusa, Ritsuko, and Hibiki are musts.

 

Now that DDP exists I have a feeling we may see Ami/Mami ahead of the others though.

Never have watched the show, so I care not either way, unless she is so adorably kawaii.

You'd think Ami/Mami would be DDP too alongside Yayoi and Iori right?! When DDP Iori and Yayoi were announced I first thought that Ami/Mami would naturally be DDP too if/when their time comes since they're also among the younger ones. ..but looking at their profiles again, the twins are actually a lot taller than expected! They were quite short in the very beginning of the series, but after everyone aged by one year when 2nd Vision started in 2009 or 2010, they had a pretty wild growth spurt and are now the same height as Haruka. xD

 

Back to Yuriko though, at 154cm tall she's 1cm shorter than Yukiho, who's currently the shortest 765pro idol that's on a DDS body, and 1cm taller than Iori so it can go either way.

 

And after thinking about it maybe it's not too random that Yuriko would be chosen as one of the first Million Live DDs(as long as that leak is real ofc--it seems to be from the HotchPotch pamphlet, which was orderable online from Bandai Namco's website. I know that other concert-specific items like the penlights get sent out early so they are received in time to be used during the concerts, but idk if the pamphlet would be shipped out early too.. probably?). As one of the 'regulars' in ML, she(/her seiyuu) appears much more often in animated stuff/concerts/events/etc so she's pretty popular. I still think it makes more sense to have DDs of at least some of the main trio first before the others but oh well. Character design-wise Yuriko's hairstyle and default outfit are cuter than the trio at least, imo.

 

As for tan/brown imas girls, Hibiki is actually the only one in 765pro/Million Live, and iirc there are only 2 out of the ~200(yes, there are that many) Cinderella Girls idols. There really aren't many options at all sadly, but Hibiki is by far the most obvious choice. ^^" I hope she'd be a preorder though.. losing out on a Hibiki lottery would be.. devastating. ;;""

In the anime OP you can see them all lined up in a row, and I did check out the heights with an eye towards which body type would Ami/Mami fit. Height-wise I agree they could be DDS, but if Volks is going by age then I would say they are DDP for sure.

I wonder how would they make the twins, released together I guess? I'm not too much of a fan of them, so I don't know for sure, but the main difference is hair and clothes only right?

Yeah afaik they are identical twins with only hair and outfits as a difference.
