Nanao Yuriko (The Idolm@ster: Million Live!)

Ahhh so Yuriko sold out. I’ve been pretty busy lately so I haven’t been able to check out her page much at all; I hope Volks updated it when there were just a few of her left. I hope you can get her eventually, Sinclair! It sucks that her release came at a really bad time for you.

 

And so goes the first Million Live DD. I do hope for more of them in the future(along with SideM because the guys deserve it just as much).

I'm surprised she took this long, but I think her aftermarket price will remain low for some time.

 

Right now body & head only is $410 on Yahoo! Japan, and wigs are around $70. Her full-set is $630 on Mandarake. I think her full-set should be in the $600 - $700 range for some time; at least until she's been off the market long enough for demand to go up. Her outfit alone is $270, and that doesn't surprise me. It's one of the nicer stage costumes Volks has put out.

 

I'm really curious if this was a fail release on Volks part, which I kind of doubt, or if they just made a lot of her to whet people's appetite for the new ML line.

Honestly I kind of wondered the same, especially since it seemed like she wasn’t a particularly big release. It seemed like years ago having a limited doll not sell out immediately counted as a failure, but that seems to be changing throughout the past few years. Honestly I think getting notice about an upcoming limited doll well in advance, and then having said doll be available for a month or two(or three) is a pretty fair balance..

I guess not many here in the forum got her but that's not really necessarily representative of how she did in Japan, and it's impossible to guess what Volks' expectations were for her.

 

I hadn't looked at her page in a while and at that time she wasn't listed as low stock but presumably they changed it to that before she sold out.

 

Mandarake's pricing on Yuriko has actually dropped since the ones they put up before the website orders opened; but OTOH only one store has her in stock so it's hard to make any guesses on how her price will go. A few other Idolmaster girls still go for 80K on Mandarake; Mio Honda, Makoto, Yayoi and Iori.

 

The following limited dolls are still available on Volks Japan: Sheryl, Ranka, Freyja, and Len Kagamine; of those only Freyja lists as low stock. Rin Kagamine may truly be unavailable now as she wasn't sold at Magical Mirai unlike Miku, Luka, and Len and her price has been increasing on Mandarake.

 

With Len remaining available, was a DDS boy something less popular than Volks expected, or is it just because it's Len? I have no idea how DD Kirito sold though on Mandarake he goes for 100K so I assume did reasonably well.

Well Len and Kirito are on two different bodies. I have a feeling people wanted adult male characters as far as customizing goes (and SAO is pretty popular), so he's going for more than Len. And Len is.... Len. Not the most exciting younger boy character.

 

What Mio Honda's are you looking at? I never see her go for 80k, she's up for 70k right now. Poor girl never goes for very much.

 

I'm really bummed I missed Yuriko, but I have a feeling she won't be another one grand IdolMaster doll so *shrug*. No more Miki prices please Q_Q

Difference in body types could certrainly be a factor. I'm not in the target market for boy dolls so I'm kinda clueless which was why I ask.

Oops, you're right. I was going off memory and 80K is the price of many of the not-marked-up dolls; it's where Iori, Yayoi, Miku, Snow Miku and I'm sure a number of others are at.

Miki Hoshii. I want her a lot but the price is so awful at 200K. I'm desperately hoping she gets a rerelease from the voting. She's the most expensive DDS now by far so that seems like a good chance. I think the next highest are Ranko and Uzuki at 130-140K. But since the voting was grouped with DDS and DDdy I have no idea if they will release one of both or just one from the combined category.

Had something I want to say to this, but I am going to respond in the Best Selection thread since it's a bit off topic here.

I was almost done saving up for Yuriko when I noticed she was sold out. I ended up finding her for a comparable price on Mandarake and grabbed her. She's such a cutie. Pictures forthcoming once she arrives!

 

I am worried about those socks staining... I've got a DD bodysuit coming for her but Volks USA hasn't shipped it yet. She'll probably get here before, so it'll be a struggle not to put her in her adorable outfit right away!

I put her in the outfit without the socks and she looks fine. You can also put white thigh high socks under the black ones. That will look better than a bodysuit anyways. You can get them from coolcats if you don't have any. They also have bodysuits in a range of styles, and in their stocking section they have thick white tights which can go under black leggings or work as white leggings.

 

Foo has a trick he used with bodysuits, which is to cut them up to make protective sleeves and socks for situations like this one. You end up with a bodysuit that you can hide under skirts and short sleeved outfits. You'd probably need to hem them to keep the edges from fraying though.

 

I didn't get any stains from the rest of her outfit, and she wore it for weeks after I got her. I have yet to put the socks on her.

 

Her wig has a black cap so definitely put a head cap on her.
