Sitting up straight

I've been thinking about upgrading my Sasara with a DDDyIII body, and/or getting a new doll... but first, my biggest gripe with Sasara's DDDy is that her ability to sit up is abysmal...

 

She can't bend at her hips to a 90 degree angle, instead having to always recline slightly when sitting. That and the looseness of her hip joins mean she has to prop herself up on her arms, seriously limiting her posing. Since I like to keep her sitting on the edge of things, it's a real bummer.

 

How well do the various bodies sit? Can they achieve 90 degrees (or less)? And are the hip joints tight enough for them to be able to stay sitting up without support?

That was always one of the drawbacks on the Dynamite bodies. I haven't played with any of the new DDDy3 bodies, so I don't know if that limitation still exists. As for the other bodies, it never seemed to be an issue.

DDIII & DDS both sit well, and have no issues sitting up. You can even pose them leaning forward a bit as they sit if you position the legs correctly. DDII has that same 90 limit unless you make a V with their legs.

My dy3 legs often fall out when trying to pose them higher than 90°/sitting =___=

Just tried my DDdy3 sitting 90° upright, and she's doing it fine. She rests on the backs of her rounded thighs though, and she sort of rocks back and forth on them. Compared to the regular DD3, she's not quite as stable.

 

 

Edit: Added picture. She's sitting on a box because I didn't want her feet resting on anything. You can see that her butt and her knees are not touching the flat surface.

Blah photos, 2 different angles, but in the first pic Ren has her legs in, but i wanted her to sit upright more and i tried putting her legs together more.... well 2nd pic is the pose i wanted but her legs fell out of the sockets as they cant really go up higher than 90° so i kinda just shoved them where i figured it would look natural, but they're not in the sockets =___=

I'm sorry my poor english...

 

I solved partially that problem to my dddy3 body using metal frames and custom hip joint.

Metal frames help posing ability, but not solve perfectly.

Because I think the problem is rounded her own thigh.

Thick rounded thigh is dddy3 body's charming point, but that point is not helpful sitting pose.

So I use thin cushion under the her hip when sitting.

silky08, you are brave to customize your DDdy frame! I'm not that brave, so I will leave mine as it is.

 

I agree, when she is on a cushion, she sits just fine.
