Arrival (DD Towa)

Whelp, was time for a photoshoot with the new girl. She still doesn't have a name, I just quietly murmur 'Towa' until something else takes its place, lol.

 

This is my first time photographing DDs and I will say it's a lot more fun. There's a lot fewer bad angles, I guess? Resin has all the realistic bumps and lumps of a human face, but the stylized anime look leaves less room for "argh it looks like their mouth is HUGE", less room for "WHAT THE HELL DID THE SHOT FOCUS ON oh their leftmost eyelash, brilliant", and more room for focus on the doll itself and creative expression. Am I making sense? Probably not. Oh well, that's normal.

 

Short version: I need to take more photos, Towa is beautiful, Dollfies are amazing and I don't regret anything.

Towa is beautiful, I like her a lot more out of her default wig. I'm sure a name will find her soon! Nice photos, can't wait to see more of her.

Your photography is beautiful! This shoot has a very dreamlike, ethereal feel to it. I like how well her eyes coordinate with the flower crown.

I really like the coordination that went into her outfit and overall style. The blues and teals really complement and set each other off very well. She photographs beautifully, as well, and looks so pretty.

 

I have to agree - photographing realistic dolls is very different from photographing more anime-styled, vinyl dolls. Each has their own pitfalls and points.

She looks absolutely cute in those photos!

Thank you everybody for your kind words. : ) I think it's a blessing her wigs haven't come in yet, haha, once they do I'll HAVE to have a name or whatever I'll call her will just...stick. It's such a defining feature. But I am enjoying having her around beyond measure!

I love these soft violet eyes you've given her. I don't think I've seen a lot of eyes in that color before but they work really well in bringing out some of the color in her blush and making her expression look so sweet and gentle. Super super love her in this outfit, too.

 

Her name will come to you, just give it a little time! It can take a week for me to find a couple of good ones, and then I'll try them out and see what feels the most natural.

I really am happier with the eyes than I thought I would be. They're Volks J-Type Metallic and I reeeeally like them, I want few more to play around with, I know she'll have purple eyes, but we'll see what sticks! Thank you very much for your kind words.

 

I have a few name ideas in mind but I don't think anything will stick until her wigs come in. She has some Lullaby Poem wigs in Espresso, a super super dark brown-black: a basic long-hair straight with bangs, and a similar if not longer one with a braid on either side of her face but the style pretty much the same. Her character is quiet, a little disobedient in an oppositional way (i.e. "I'm going to do this JUST BECAUSE YOU TOLD ME NOT TO" although executed with the silent, intense stare instead of words, haha), introverted type. Not shy, just...prefers to do her own thing, usually on her own, because not everybody really likes watching her play video games, or watching her write stories....but it's not going to stop her enjoyment of what she does. What can you do with an only child? I might change around her eyes more to get that across too: these are very soft and friendly, which is accurate at times, but moreso she's a little distant.

 

Her wigs are scheduled to come in next week...I CAN'T WAIT. Another photoshoot will be coming, muaha!
