Friday night - a postbox in the city - (Sakuya/Towa/DDH06)

Recommended Posts

Ie-Aster

A 'people-watching' story of those who pass by a postbox on a certain Friday night.

Fuyumi is a custom DDH06 by/owned by buncho.

Makomo is a DDS Towa owned by yours truly.

Sayuri is a customized DD Sakuya owned by buncho.

The first to pass by this little postbox is Fuyumi. Ever the diligent student council president, she's checking her watch to make sure she can make it back before curfew.

Yes, she'll make it if she doesn't dawdle--and she is not the sort to dawdle--so she pulls her shawl around her against the rising breeze and makes haste towards her home.

As the wind rises, it tangles in the long tresses of a tired scientist making her own way home--young Professor Makomo.

She is feeling a bit worried about taking the weekend off--she's not quite sure about the way some of her coworkers seem to be acting. But in her exhaustion and the bright blinking lights of the city and the swirling wind, it all somehow seems quite distant...

As the night goes on, and the evening chill sets in, and the character of the crowds shifts, who should we see passing by the little post-box but a well-dressed oni, her horns glinting with gold, and her clothes straight out of the very best boutiques?

Surely she's heading to some society function--but--could it be?!

It looks like she's walking towards the red-light district...

--

notes: Makomo's sweater is by Purple Dream, and her handbag (also borrowed by Sayuri in this shoot) is from 1pinfun on Etsy. I highly recommend both webshops/designers.

I used an Industar 61 L/Z lens for these pictures.

You guys always look like you have so much fun together.

Sometimes I wish I could meet people from here, too...

All 3 girls look stunning!

I really, really, REALLY like your photo scene set-up. Such a simple framing device, but so elegant and it really tells a tale. All of your and Buncho's dolls are just beautiful. You've executed a great story telling medium with a graceful amount of minimalism, I love it.

Torino - I feel super lucky not only to have met Ie-Aster (and Chise, too!), but to be able to host them both for little meets. It's honestly something I've wanted for a long time, and it makes me super happy I really hope that something like that can happen for you in the not so distant future, too!!

Raine - Ie-Aster is super, super good at scene set up/composition and setting a mood. I offer a little help with posing to add to realism; together I think we make a great team

Thank you both so much for your compliments on our girls as well!

Thank you!

If you ever happen to come to the USA again and are able to, you should definitely come visit us in New England! I would really like that.

Thanks! I was inspired by the concept of this photoset with Blythe and Re-ment from Japanese toy photographer Minita on Flickr. He has long been one of my photography inspirations for his amazing set design and neat concepts.
