I'm curious, though: I got a separate email saying holding hands are coming to Volks USA, but it was pretty fuzzy about when. Anyone else know definitively how that works? Fate and Nanoha need those.

It's nice that they're re-releasing Santa Alter, since she's coming to the North American version of Fate/Grand Order this Christmas. She is awful cute... not that I can afford her.

I already have all the Miku outfits, so I'm good there. But this Rin temptation is bad. But I need to hold strong as have to spend that money on my other hobby, and my car. Why does RL have to always get in the way. But I might fall for the Daughter of Evil dress. How do you think that'd look on Karin?

They've both still been available on the Volks Japan website. Right now Rin is out of stock, but they seem to get periodically restocked.

Outta curiosity, how often are the Miku dolls re-released? I am interested it getting one someday without paying scalper prices. But Rin has a higher priority at this time.

Everyone just get a Rin. Seriously, you don't need anything else. You don't really want to go through the stress of a lottery for a Ribbon Girl outfit. Just get a Rin.

Saber Alter is kind of tempting. Everyone's photos of her look so pretty. But I'm not liking that Santa outfit. And I've decided I'm a DD racist and will only have Normal Skin girls, so Saber Alter's semi-white is right out.

 

Daughter of Evil is kinda/sorta something I'd like. But I already know it would only be on my doll once in a blue moon.

 

I'm safe from the lottery items. I thought it was interesting they showed the 2020 sets in the promo image for the lottery items but don't have the 2020 items in the lottery.

I'm starting to get the feeling Volks is just lowkey making small Vocaloid DDs batches every few months, to always have a licensed chara to sell! (absolutely not a bad thing)

Happened a few times thus far, though I don't know if it's something you can depend on.

Alter is amazing in person. I absolutely LOVE mine even tho she's the V2 one and not the Santa. And by the way, she is a WS girl, not SWS so the stark contrast of her skin compared to the NS girls is really cool. I have several WS girls and all of them are lovely.

 

You should really think about getting Alter if you're on the fence. She's a lovely girl that will only marginally affect your grocery budget.

PS. There sure is a LOT of Vocaloid stuff available this go around! Has Volks decided to clear out the warehouses or are they producing more of the dolls and their outfits in order to cash in for the holidays?

Saber Alter is white skin, not semi white.

 

I may enter for a few different outfits.. but probably no dolls. I still need Miku, but as was said before she's pretty readily available for a decent price - plus if they keep re-releasing her it shouldn't be a problem getting her in the future. I have no clue why she goes for such a high price on eBay, unless it's just that people don't want to import dolls.

 

I'll probably try entering for the Ribbon Girl Set and the Twinkle set.. I've passed up the Ribbon Girl Set a few times on Mandarake for less (and instantly regretted it) so we'll see. I'm just a little worried with Volks newest announcement on their Facebook page they may be planning on releasing new dolls in December.. I assume it'll be a lottery. At least, it seems like it's about time for another new lottery.

Lucky for me, I'm not big into the special release Vocaloid outfits, and I already have Miku, Rin, and Len. Santa Saber is super tempting, but I just do not have the money or the space at the moment to make a swing for her. I swear I'll get a Saber of some kind someday. *shakes fist*

Yeah I was pretty happy when I saw that. Hopefully more of the special hands will be like this.

I say they were pre-order too. But it's not a blanket pre-order, it's they have X number of slots, and will take pre-orders until those slots are filled up. The question is, are you limited to only one of each or not? The wording on the one page I looked at made me think I could order more than one. But question for those ordering the thumbs up, are you wanting normal hands or large hands? I want normal, but would go for the large if someone that wants large also goes for the normal, then we can just swap and have twice as many. I'm only going to go for one of each so as to not give Volks any reason to cancel my order.

I assume by this point I should have my lottery results for the SD One-offs, but assuming (cause I most likely will) lose I think I may aim for Santa Saber.... I can't help going back to this mold. A lot of non-related things got attached to my August which made her so hard to keep (my fault for letting non-dolly hobby stuff affect the hobby) but I've never forgotten how much I love this mold. QwQ And I kinda adore the Santa outfit even though I don't need it.

Miku is totally worth it. She has one of the most unique faces Volks has made.
