I'm so excited my Sailor Moon doll has shipped!

What, how? I take it you found a proxy?

I'm almost positive Sailor Moon will get Miku/Vocaloid type treatment. She's going to keep popping up everywhere and people will get sick of it haha!

As for scalpers...well in a sense it's smart put her up now while the selling is hot.

Buyers however...like Torino said she's not even officially released...chill.

The wig really does look like a disaster waiting to happen. I really wonder how fragile it is and if it can even be fixed if it gets messed up.

I think it'd be better if the pigtails/buns were attached to the main wig via clips. It might look more show accurate that way too.

Oh my gosh, she's so adorable in that pink wig and candy hoodie outfit. She'd totally make a kawaii MDD. But as SM, she looks so much better in these vids than in the Volks shots, I can't wait to get my hands on her.

And I agree about her hair, it looks like a disaster waiting to happen. I don't like how they did the buns at all. They should be round meatballs, not flat disks. But I still want her.

Agreed on the wig! I'm hoping to get a second one or maybe two additional to see if I can change the buns

Naaw, thank you for all of your sweet words about Bunny. Thank you for the love!

And thank you @asianed for sharing my "drunk speech"!

Tried to share another pic of Bunny here, but the forum is telling me I don't have permission or some...I'll try to post in the gallery!

Btw, I recently got access to this account again. Cause I forgot I registered back in 2012!

EDIT: The wig is not bad at all, but the tails are a bit thin in my humble opinion. It's well made and if you want you can make your doll flip their hair back and forth as much as they want with this wig on.

I think if you style the bangs a bit it might look cuter, maybe redo the dango..I obviosuly didn't cause I was too exhausted to care.

Just saying this, cause I've seen people being concerned about the wig.

She kinda reminds me of the 06 head in videos. She's very cute but thankfully I'm still safe.

My boyfriend and I have considered getting her together because I kind of want the head, and he wants everything but the head. I think she'd be adorable on a DDP body!

Mizuzu -- once you hit 20 posts you can post photos c: two more to go!

More money for other cute things then! ^^/

I’ve never thought of that, I’ll have to compare her to a 06 head now! ^^

Oh you could definitely do a split then!^^ I don’t think she’s a replica of the original Sailor Moon, but she’s still very cute to me!^^

And thank you for telling me! ^^<3 I probably should read the forum rules...

I have seen her in person at the Volks doll point. I personally don't like her very much, but she looks better irl than in the pics. Actually it makes me want to get her, since the faceup is very delicate and sweet. But I still think Volks could have done sooo much better with the sculpt.

Oh she looks so much better in person! I do hope she will get the Miku treatment and be available later on too. I would love to get her and have somebody customize her to look more like the 90s Usagi. Not that I don't like the faceup she has already. It is really sweet and delicate. Just not what I would want my Usagi to look like.

Tell me if I am wrong.

Sailor Moon was sold inside the DP38's Tenshi no Sumika SHOP.

You had to line up from 08:30 to 09:30 in front of the entrance. They gave you a ticket with a number (by order of arrival).

At 09:30 they drew a random number for reorganizing the line starting with this number.

At 10:00 the shop opened.

Then what?

Entry is restricted, I assume, like they are talking about preventing congestion.

Items are delivered later at a counter so you just have to ask purchase tickets depending of what you want (at the shop's counter I guess?)?

I assume you can take a look at the items like it's a shop with them in display but how does the order given by the queue is respected? I mean, how do you fight for the last items? How do they do to prevent blood everywhere? I might have understood that doll's tickets are distributed at the entrance?

Do we have photos of the shop or is there somewhere some in-depth reports on how Dolpa are working, with details? (I know that how Sailor Moon was distributed was an exception to the rule but those questions can be applied to Tenshi no Sumika's items.)

2/

The exact same system is used with shops (TnS, DP Akihabara, etc.), right, when they are using hold line order lottery? (There is only Tenshi no Sato which uses first-come-first-served basis though.)

3/

About the two choices at the bottom of the shops' list:

【ウェブで注文】ホビー天国ウェブ ([web order] Hobby Tengoku Web) > it's just the name for the japanese online shop, right?

【お電話で注文】ボークス通販隊 > you can't order dolls by phone, which means it's a first-come-first-served basis for TnS items?

Everyone waiting to get into the Sumika store gets to draw a ticket with a number. They decide the line order based on this (although its not necessarily numerical, its an actual lottery for the head of the line after they divide everyone into groups. someone else can probably explain this better lol)They do the same for the lottery dolls (well they apparently used to, then changed it, and now do again), its just that usual its a separate line and this is as far as I know the first time the dolls have actually been part of the Sumika line, which is usually just for the new clothes and stuff.

Then people just file in and can buy whatever they want. There's no bloodshed because of the queue (you seem to be underestimating the power of a queue in Japan, queues are respected), but I imagine if you are the person directly behind the person who takes the last ticket for the doll, you would probably end up cursing them out of malice. (/joke)

There are probably Volks event reports of the store, it kinda just looks like a regular convention pop-up store to me.

This seems to be the exact same system they use in the other physical stores though.

However it's now been revealed that for the online store, Sailor Moon's (and Ruri's) gonna be a regular lottery.

Opens on Jan 21st, results on the 25th/26th, delivers on the 31st.

So the doll is lottery, but her extra outfit is click war?

@Sechs.. 1) That's the basics of the dolpa sumika shop, yes. To add to that, once the shop opens at 10:00, Volks admits the first 10-15 people in line into the shop. The customers can pick up and put into their shopping basket anything they like, one copy of any item per person, and then check out. Once enough room has cleared in the shop, the next 10 people are let in. And so on until the queue is complete.

Queues and who picks up an item first are highly respected in Japan, so you don't get any bloodshed over the last copy of something. Disappointment only.

I'm not sure how they distributed DD Sailor Moon specifically, but I would guess that it could have been as easy as the standard model dolls in the shop. They just have those laying out on a table, and you go pick one up to place in your basket just like any other item in the shop.

2) The After Event at Volks physical stores works differently. Each individual store manager sets their own procedure for the lottery, including timetable and format. So what you need to do is entirely dependent on what store you go to. Some stores (like Akihabara) use the head-of-line lottery that the Dolpa Sumika shop does, while other stores (like the old Tachikawa) literally have each person draw a number out of a box. Instructions for each store are online on the AE page each time (Japanese version only).

3) Yes, Hobby Tengoku Web is the Japanese version of the online store. Mail-Ordering by phone will be first-come for any non-limited items left over after the clickwars online. You might be able to order standard model dolls by phone, but that'd be it. (No limited items).

but I imagine if you are the person directly behind the person who takes the last ticket for the doll, you would probably end up cursing them out of malice. (/joke)

Oh, the memories. That exact thing actually happened to me up on the roof of the department store in Tachikawa where that Volks store ran their event queues. I've long forgotten which DD it was by now, but yeah the very last ticket for it was snagged by the person immediately in front of me. The five people before them had passed on it and bought other things, so I thought for sure I was gonna get that last ticket. But nope, blindsided by a break in the pattern! No curses necessary though, as there's always somewhere else to buy the item.

Yeah, I think about Japanese each time I wait for a tram and see people blocking the doors or walking inside the moment the doors open even though people want to leave. It's unbelievable, such selfishness.

I was more concerned about the fact there is no queue inside the shop so the order doesn't matter anymore and there could be arguing or "touch the last item at the exact same time" cases.

Also, if you can pick the articles directly, why are they saying the product delivery time is from 12:00 to 16:00 at the new Dollfie delivery counter? Did they baptize a new protocol?

About SM, they are talking about purchasing tickets.

購入希望者に「DDSセーラームーンの購入券」を配布いたします。

※購入券がなくなり次第完売となります。

I will take a look at youtube because I discovered last years there were a looot of videos about BJD on it. Also need to check my list of (dead) blogs for after reports... if I can find it again.

Thank you both.

According to the people who got a Sailor Moon at the event it was a ticket they paid for and then had to come back to pick up the doll from the counter at a certain time later.

I'm wondering if the slightly different method (sumika) is related to what Bandai wanted, or if they will sell future Dolpa dolls the same way. Will have to wait until march to find out (I'm hoping 9S will be out by then 8'))
