DD Sailor Moon!

Has anyone tried the default wig and tiara on another doll head? Was just curious if it’d fit another head (cough, Rin). I’m thinking of entering the lottery for her just for the wig and accessories, because ... her sculpt doesn’t seem lively enough for Sailor Moon.

I completely agree. She is probably THE best looking custom Usagi I've seen. Excellent work, you should be proud!

Mine got some more work done on her wig today! I ordered some Water Wax and the hairspray to do a little more fixing. Washed the bangs, poured a little hot water on them so they lay a little better and shaped them with the water wax. Much better! Also used the spray to clean up the little tendrils on the side (god that stuff is so sticky before it dries!) and some flyaways around her parting and the very tops of her pigtails.

 

Oh and she got her S bust this week too! She looks MUCH better with the small bust. She's naked right now just because I don't want to worry about her outfit staining (even though it is lined and etc) until her other clothes get here. I considered getting a friend for her but I think I'm gonna need to build a wardrobe before that happens LOL

She definitely looks better with the small bust. Can’t wait to see her in her outfit.

Hi! Sorry I'm actually not planning on re-dressing her into her uniform anytime soon, but if I have to guess it'll fit pretty well over the S bust since it's so tight over the M bust. If I happen to dress her in her stock I'll take photos as I'm curious too!

Entered for a friend in a local doll group and won her. Problem is everyone who entered for said friend won! I'm beyond shocked. I though SM would be much harder to win based on the Int results. Seems to be the opposite for the Super Sailor Moon set. I don't know of anyone who got it.

I won as well, and I also entered for a local friend, lol! She only won 3 times, I think? I'm probably going to keep mine and either sell the whole girl, or sell just the full set.

I guess this might help anyone from outside USA to get the girl at original price, if someone from the USA will spare the extras? So, that's always nice. Congrats to the winners ^ ^ I hope to see someone customize her as an original character or something else. She looks very cute as SM of course, but I'm curious to see her with lots of different wigs and eyes!

Oh whoops, let me clarify, willing to purchase the super sailor moon set or her accessories/clothing/wig. Those are definite willing to purchase. However the full set doll, I might consider down the line.

I definitely want to see smart doll as sailor moon, very curious how the outfit would look on that doll, or at least body with clothes.

Hi guys! So I just won Sailor Moon in the lottery and she'll be my first Dollfie Dream! I've collected BJDs for years, so I think I may ultimately end up modding her face or grabbing another head since, like a lot of people, I felt that was the one aspect that was kind of off about her.

I entered for her and the set and won both! They're for a friend and she didn't win and I was shocked I did! Already own her from Yahoo Japan but I was just floored...

Doh! Missed the memo that USA was having a lottery for the Super outfit set. I got the doll in the Japan lottery.

I'd love that Super Sailor Moon! It's my favorite form of hers.

How likely would it be for Volks to create the others? (I really hope not; I don’t need to spend more $$$!)

Careful with the tiara if you care about dings/marks as mine dented her head a bit. It also transferred some gold paint in a near-crescent shape onto her forehead (funny enough.. ) I did admittedly leave it on her for a solid 2 weeks though...

 

I am having trouble posting bbcode. Anyway here's the links to the DD sailor moon earrings. Did anyone else had a heck of a time putting on her earrings? I broke both earrings and lost one of them. So I got fed up and made some brass earrings with brass posts soldered directly on them. It seems a little extreme that we have to drill a hole in the ears. Is it really that difficult for them to do it for us especially when they paint each face individually? Also all the hooked on accessories keep popping off so I had to use some UV resin to end each part of it so it just doesn't fling off or get lost. The design is kind of a fail on their part when it comes to the small details with attachment. They could have at least made it snap on somehow vs slide on. As for me I would have made all the details into metal but I guess that would make it expensive for them. Also because of the valcro in the gloves it damaged my super sailor moon outfit T.T In the instructions they should make it so they put gloves on first then the rest of the outfit. *barf*

 

Either way I greatly appreciate they did release a Volks version of Sailor Moon. The stitching and the outfit design itself is amazingly accurate and beautiful. No one has matched their workmanship with the outfits.

 

Does anyone feel her busts are a bit too big though? I had to really pull the dress tight around her bust. If it hadn't been vinyl I doubt it would have snapped on.

I personally haven't even tried with the earrings, I just put them back in the bag and didn't touch them because I just didn't see them as important enough. I'm sorry you had trouble with them, it's pretty annoying to have to pierce them yourself!

 

Her bust is DEFINITELY too big. I don't know if they switched the bust last minute or Bandai/Toei specifically asked that her outfit be so tight (complete with pads to push her boobs down) AND have a larger bust, but yeah, it's too big. Small bust is gonna be one of the things I get her when I make my next order with Volks. I didn't look too hard but when I took her outfit off it looked like her bust was kind of pushed-in from all of that compression.

 

 

I also thought the bust was not only too tight, but REALLY tugged at the snaps in the back of her outfit to the point I thought I was going to tear something.

 

I took the advice of some folks here and tried the S bust and the fit was much more relaxed.

 

So I ordered an S bust Unitorso and I really like how the outfit sits now. It isn't super form-fitting, but that little flat "tent" between the upper and lower torso is gone and I think the outfit follows her curves a bit better! (and hopefully will last longer )
