Yeah Asuna V2 looks way better in person than in the official photos. I also think she looks better with a different pair of eyes.

 

Yeah she is pretty awesome with those blue eyes.

You can but I'd be worried about it not arriving in time. If you arrive a few days before Dolpa you can buy the ticket and guidebook from any Volks store.

However I don't think merely going there will guarantee you a Sailor Moon because she seems to be first come first served and I have absolutely no idea how many they will have prepared. Not even lining up early will help you because they use a lottery system for the Sumika line itself (at least they have in past Dolpas)

Unless they're preparing a lot more for Dolpa than they are for the online store, I don't -think- odds are any higher if you go to Dolpa as opposed to waiting for the web release. Because they usually specify if there's a perk to going to Dolpa, ie '100% Guarantee' for Rin/Len and 'Increased Odds' for Kirito/Asuna. But I didn't see anything specified for SM other than getting her a month earlier than the rest.

That and I hope she's on the USA site for lottery too. I've got to get her and the outfit. I can see her becoming the most expensive aftermarket DD ever.

The English site is up and she might be a clickwar. (?) This might just be a first come first serve for Dollpa tho.

I always said to myself: If Volks makes a dollfie dream Sailor Moon, I'll be sure to buy her even if I have to put her on credit because I've always been super nostalgic about Sailor Moon.

 

I'm incredibly disappointed by her however. The gloves especially. Perhaps I'll buy the secondary outfit for my Rin though.

...come to think of it, Kagamine Rin's sculpt would be a way better match for Sailor Moon. I'd really like to see her wig/eyes/outfit/body but with Rin's head if anyone who already has Rin is planning on getting her.

I’m somewhat convinced Volks is being lazy and not changing out the type of hands she has on before adding the gloves.. is it just me or does it look like they have the “fist” hands on her rather than the hands that would match the glove? I feel like it’s possible if she had the correct hands on they would fit fine. I may be wrong of course.. just an observation.

It's odd because in some angles she looks pretty OK but the front view her eyes look so tiny. Probably some camera illusion though. Her outfits are really amazing, if only I was invested in her character.

But they are perfect for washing the dishes! ... *badum tss*

I wouldn't worry about it. Volks did the same thing with Miku and the other Vocaloids. People were freaking out about the twins especially since they were lottery only when they were first announced. It was a mad scramble for them.

 

But now look at things. All of the Vocaloids are IN STOCK at Volks US and Volks Japan. It's easy to get one on the second hand market too.

 

Sailor Moon will be the same. Volks knows she's a license to print money. They know she will be popular. They know she will sell out at first. This will all add up to her next releases selling out too. Volks has learned from their mistakes of Saber Extra and Saber Alter V2 and the madness that was that pre-order. They don't want to go thru another body shortage again, that severely made them look bad and they don't want a repeat. They also don't want a big surplus of Sailor Moon DD's in their showrooms or warehouse areas like they had with the newer Sabers.

 

So Moon will be available again. And she will continue to be available in the future. If you want one, you'll be able to get one. You will have to wait a little but she's worth it if you're a fan right?

 

I've been after an original Saber since I started this hobby over 7 years ago. And guess what? I've finally got a brand new one on pre-order. Sure, it's gonna be a year before I get her but I WILL HAVE HER. It'll be the same with Moon. So don't worry!

...she's coming out in January, dude, it's ok. This was just a prerelease.

Edit: we still don't know the details of her web release, whether she's clickwar or lottery, but seeing as VolksUSA will probably get her and do a lottery, that's two extra chances at getting her. I am really not sure why people are freaking out and acting like she was only limited to Dolpa - I just saw a bunch of it on Facebook too

As for why these scalpers are already trying to scalp on a doll that has two more releases coming (assuming VolksUSA do one) I have no idea. I would say 'no one is gonna buy that', except I literally saw someone on yahoo auction pay over 70,000 goddamn yen for the winning bid on an X-Pass ticket just so they could be one of the first in to the event (a privilege which gives you zero advantage to getting any of the dolls seeing as the Sumika line is decided by lottery - someone just wanted early access to the dealer hall THAT badly) I wouldn't be surprised if there was some weirdo out there willing to pay 4x the price of the doll just so they get her a month before the general release.

I hope SM will be another Vocaloid for Volks - as in "rerelease constantly!" so getting one is just a waiting game...

Look at Mikuzukin set - they've released that sucker something like 5 times already! No crazy aftermarket prices, one had many lottery or clickwar shots for getting it
