I am super excited about the casual knitwear. I really want more normal, every day clothes for my DD's! XD I love that the sets come with socks too!

Interesting, it looks like Sailor Moon comes with 7 gloves and 5 different hand parts(in total of 7 if they include the default hands). All for the price of 64,000 yen ? Huh, I'd expect her to cost a lot more for having all that extra parts. Unless the hand parts are separate, which I doubt since it's in the photo of included parts.

I can understand leaving out reports and stuff but multiple pages of outfits are usually always missing. I don't mind supplying those but I'm not going to be in Japan forever so it'll be annoying (for me) to rely on incomplete scans after then.

Oh man, tell me about it! That is my world these days... I'm happy to see the scans that do get uploaded, but good golly does it drive me nuts that not everything gets photographed. Sadly, I've noticed that the more Japanese text there is on a page, the less likely it is to get posted, and thus the most important details are the ones skipped. This time we got the front page calendars, surprisingly, but we usually don't even get those. It's nice to see the outfits and dolls, but it's painful knowing from experience what else is going unsaid.

 

Before you joined the hobby, I used to live in Japan and fill in all the gaps for our forum each VN issue, anything interesting that didn't get scanned (or was in Japanese in the photos). Now the torch passes to you!

 

My contents curiosity question is this: Did VN76 end up having an after-report feature on LA Dolpa 3, or anything discussing the 45th anniversary events like the polar bear Shige-chan essay contest or the Dolpa38 customer appreciation after-party?

Those fairy kei outfits are so cuuute!!! I'm definitely getting one, omg. The little bows and stockings!!! I'm tempted by that SD10 sweater/skirt set, but I must remember... I can get an equivalent on TB for very cheap. I kinda wish the MDD santa dress was in a bigger size - I don't really like the sexualized Santa dresses. There is a ton of stuff that never gets scanned. People tend to scan the image spreads of the new items. There is a lot of general stuff in there too. A lot of it is really resin specific though. It's basically a magazine in size with all the other stuff included.

 

I ordered Volks News 75 from Volks USA, and was pretty happy with it once I saw it.

Sadly no English language release.

If anyone wants to share the unofficial job of reporter I'd be glad ;; I can only do so much after all, as the Fu kuoka showroom is the only one I have access to usually. I'm really happy that we've been able to have people do stuff like Dream Choice to report on that for example. I also can't go to every Dolpa I want to (I'm hoping to go to Hometown in march but I do hope a doll I want is on lottery then...)

 

Anyway yes, there is a report of LA Dolpa. I can supply that if you want, but it will have to wait a week since I'm in Tokyo until next Wednesday night. The included photos are a bit small, but there are people visible in them, so it'll be fun to see if any of you guys are there. For the 45th anniversary stuff this issue also came with a really nice extra booklet for the kanshasai that had a whole lot on the history of Volks from their humble beginnings in the 70s.

 

re: volks news size, its actually way thicker than you'd expect. The scans, even what's on orchidolls, are always incomplete but -usually- have the outfits, just not the actual info and reports, as well as event news for stuff at Sato/Mado. The thickness really surprised me when I first received an issue (because of the scans I'd seen I was expecting something more like a pamphlet), and it's a really high quality magazine considering I get it delivered for free (well, 1000 yen a year but that's just the VIP membership cost). Note that about 1/4 is model-kit stuff too.

I can help out a bit~ I live in Yokohama and go to the showroom there a few times a month, plus into Tokyo every so often.

 

I've heard that Volks don't really like people sharing scans online, and have even sent C&Ds before, so that's probably why people are wary about sharing the whole magazine. I don't know how much truth there is to it though, it's just what I heard

Okay, that makes more sense than a super thin magazine. Sounds neat, actually.

Sigh, Volks USA got it and had free shipping, but they were sold out in less than 24 hours. So either they got hardly any, or everyone really wants more SM info.

I was able to order a copy through the international site. It looks like it's still in stock there.

Outfit aside, A Sailor Moon model!? That's a very bold hair style to go for. If they can pull off Sailor Moon's hair, that's quite the accomplishment and very confident building for future models.

I wish the shoes came out the same day as the DD stuff. I don't wanna have to make two trips, so I'll have to just hope they still have some pastel sneakers when I go in store to get the yumekyun set the next day. Still undecided on the SD stuff, I wish the individual bits were separate instead of clothing sets. I really want the top half of the grey sweater set but not the bottom half 8')

Meaning you want the sweater and shirt, but not the socks and skirt? Or you don't want the shirt either? Either way, I might be willing to do a split with you. Ask me when it gets closer and we know more about how to get Sailor Moon. There a couple of outfits I want, but I need to figure out the total cost 1st. I really need to limit my spending on DD stuff this next year.

There's some things I like, but not much I quite want to go for. (If only the boys' sweater sets had an SD13 or DDBoy size, sigh.) I think the only thing I REALLY want are the awesome brown-and-beige boots. I can always use more steampunk-y boots around here, LOL. Then I might consider going after the mini-size Yume-Kyun set for Abby, but it's not high priority.

I literally want all the sets from the Blue Label and one set from the Pink label and the pastel shoes... *insert gif of that girl throwing money out of the window* I don't have the cash for all of them, but my biggest problem is customs... T_T

SD13 boy, instead of SD13 girl--the latter of which is (strangely) what actually fits the DD Boy body. The only sweater sets this time around that fit the DD Boy both have skirts! My Yuuri may be comfortable with his feminine side, but not quite THAT comfortable.

I'm looking forward to photos when it reaches you! I thought of your girls at once when I first saw these outfits, actually.

Sooo the set came in this weekend! But by the time I received it I was too pooped from work to get it on my MDD body for real, so I had to wait until today to give a proper review.

Here it is on Tansy and her bald, eyeless, capless head. (I'm going to be doing her faceup this week, eheh...) It looks really cute and cozy! I had to hike the skirt down slightly so the hoodie wouldn't swallow it completely, but it doesn't seem like that much of a bother for the moment.

 

Interesting thing to note, if it hasn't been spotted already: the back snaps go all the way up to the hood. Presumably for room for bigger hairstyles, I guess?

 

The one thing I was concerned about was how hard it would be to get the socks over the stockings. Turns out, not at all -- the socks are a little bit thinner and have some stretch to them so they can go over. Now, how these are going to fit into shoes is a different story (since I don't have MDD size shoes yet...)

I'm disappointed by the snaps going all the way up the back of the hood; I don't like how it looks from the back. I may skip out on going after the outfits.
