Volks News 76!

So, will the Beige sweater set fit DD at all? It says SD13 boys who I'm assuming are quite a bit thicker. I don't mind if it's baggy/oversized, but I'm not sure of the size difference between them. I'd rather save my money and ask, than be disappointed. ^^;;

SD13 is quite a bit more oversized... they will have the "boyfriend shirt" look. I can take some pictures of some SD13 clothing on my DD if you want.

I guess it's a good thing i had over a month to consider this stuff because I've lost interest in quite a lot. The Yumekyun sets are impressing me a lot less now, especially because I've seen similar but cuter stuff elsewhere (including a dealer outfit I own) and those snaps right up the back are honestly ugly to me...

I'll probably just get some of the knit stuff and -maybe- one of the Santa dresses to save for next Christmas. I'm kinda glad I had this time to think because I would have spent a ton of money on stuff I likely would have had my dolls wear once and never again lol.

 

Still wish the knit stuff wasn't entire outfit sets but I mind a lot less now that I'm no longer interested in some of the other stuff.

Yeah SD17 is HUGE. I have an SD17 shirt and it is pretty big on my SD13 boy haha.

I think it looks better, except for the shoulders, since the SD13 shoulders are wider than the DD shoulders. I also unrolled one of the sleeves, cause I realized you might want to see how long the sleeve is on the DD.

Please note I made this myself. The neck is a bit tall for the DD and ofc it's baggy and sits a bit weird in comparison to the SD13, but not too much so. The shoulders might look a bit weird, but that's how they are on the SD13 also.

Uh... well, with a shirt over, it might not be too obvious that they're huge at the waist, but it might show weirdly.

Agreed; I have the SB-SD-211 red pumps that were rereleased recently and they're nicely made. I don't really have much to compare them to but they're what I expected.

The only Volks shoes I have that I've been disappointed in as far as feel of craftsmanship are the Miku Ribbon Girl shoes. I have $8 eBay sneakers that seem better built. The Ribbon Girl shoes haven't come apart in any way, they just feel and look flimsy is all.

huh, I completely disagree. I was actually gonna use them as an example of quality I'm pleased with. I have super cheap sneakers as well, and they're not bad, but they do break kinda easily. I really like the Ribbon Girl sneakers though.

The only other solo shoes I have are some MSD boots but those are really nice. (technically the shoes Bri came with were also sold on their own, but I bought her as a fullset D'Coord so I didnt choose them. The rest of my Voks shoes have all come with outfits, but I haven't been disappointed by any.

I should probably clarify something too. I mentioned sneakers because those are prominent in the Volks 76 news. I have a lot of Volks shoes from many different lines, maybe 25+ pairs. The quality on all but one of them is good. I have one pair of boots that have heels that are too short, no problem when the doll is on a stand, but the doll can't stand on her own in them.

 

I have one pair of heels that started to come unglued, but that was from me using too much force on the heel part when to putting them on my SD. Beautiful shoes though, white with gold bows and very elegant lines.

Well, it seems to be completely random what they restock and when they restock. They may restock some stuff in a few days, but I've also seen them restock stuff after a few weeks. AFAIK there's no way to tell what will get restocked and when. The "will be restocked" doesn't mean anything. I've seen items labeled "will be restocked" never get restocked. I've seen items labeled "sold out" get restocked.

 

It's best to get stuff right away. Extra benefit of being able to get everything in one shipment.

 

VolksUSA also typically does a release of the same stuff a few months after international site. They do lottery. Though I believe they only ship to USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Log in 5 - 10 minutes before, and be sure to refresh every few minutes so your session doesn't get dropped. Once it hits zero hour wait a few seconds, refresh the page and start clicking. I tend to go for the normal clothing items, and I've never had problems getting everything on my wish list. Stuff like the Dolls, and the Miku limited outfits are hard to get. Shoes tend to sell out fast too.

 

I usually have a priority list in mind and plan out what I am going for first, second, third, etc.

 

The limited clothing will keep popping back up over the next few days/weeks as long as it shows "Will be restocked." Just check back and you may see what you want.

 

Some of the basic stuff can go out of stock for months. Things like doll stands, option hands, sprays, and busts you may wait awhile on.

@wolf @shikaree thank you for teaching me the ways. Who knew Dollfie Dream enthusiasts would need to be so patient, calculated, and hard-core to make it out there. Just gotta keep telling myself it’s to make my dollies fabulous.
