DDs and Christmas

Now that it's December, it can now be Christmas time. So here's a thread where people can post about their DDs and Christmas. Do they get dressed up, are they part of the Christmas decorations? I put up my 1st Christmas item.

 

Santa Saber is the perfect way to start out the Christmas season! I'll be putting up my tiny tree this weekend. Miku needs a Christmas sweater and a Santa Hat. I better start working on that so she can actually wear them for Christmas!

Just got the last of my crew all gussied up for the holidays, or at least festive enough.

 

My long-term goal is to get them all into formal-wear that corresponds/pays homage to different movements of the Nutcracker, because apparently I had to go highbrow instead of the usual Santa dress schtick. The only ones that are really "locked" into their Xmas outfits right now are Nanoha (Mother Gingerbread) and Miku (Chinese green tea). I know Agatha's going to eventually be Russian Trepak/candy cane, but Homura, Fate, Abby, and Yuuri (and eventually Viktor) are all still kind of up in the air for what their permanent "assignments" will be. (If anyone has suggestions, I am definitely taking suggestions. . . )

But going through the whole shibang seems to be less and less tempting as the years go by... or could be that I just dont have a set to go for every lady in the house...

Admittedly I'm not one to talk because I got a tree on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (so in late November, for those outside the US).

 

It's a mini tree, and I set it up on my desk such that it borders the doll 'room' (small table next to my desk). I haven't got a better picture than this since it isn't fully decorated yet, but you can get a sense of the scale:

 

 

Eventually I'll have tiny ornaments and more lights on it too.

 

I'd like to have Mei and Makomo dressed up in nice outfits for the occasion, but I don't know if I can find the type of holiday outfit (an elegant, modern but ladylike dress or skirt and sweater combo) that I'd want for Makomo in time. So it might just be Mei and her Eevee.

I dress up mine until I either run out of DDs or Christmas themed outfits. I have a smallish tree but it's packed away in storage and I don't think I can make myself dig it up, too many other things to do. So the big tree will have to do like last year but it hasn't been put it up yet. Here's a photo from last year though

My girls and I have done Christmas up big before but these past few years I've had less and less time and money to do like I used to. But here's a few pics of Christmases past.

When I had fewer girls I used to change all their outfits into something different and bring them over to the family Christmas tree for some photos. Now that I have a lot more I've been pretty lazy. I did take a few of Takane though, I might take my favourites down on Christmas day for more pictures though.

I love christmas pics! I still want to take a few more.

I had Rin and Mel with me last christmas, but Miku was still a floating head and I didn't get Bri until the following spring, so for those two it's their first one here. It's also Bri's first winter in general, and I was looking forward to that because I like how turtlenecks look on her.

Miku finally gets to wear her Twinkle Snow outfit (although I haven't put the earrings, hairclip or gloves on, or the special eyes in) because it just didn't seem right when it was hot.

The real star of christmas is the wearer of the Santa outfit. But since Miku's in the Twinkle Snow set (and I dont know if a DD can squeeze into it or not - its an Azone50 one), Rin who wore it last year is wearing a big fluffy white coat instead (might post a pic of that later), and there is no way on earth anything bigger than S or even SS will fit in that, let alone Brisbane, we have only one appropriate candidate.

I'm loving Bri. You have such a cutie there.

I love how Miku looks in the Twinkle Snow outfit! If I knew what I do know, I would have pre-ordered it with help from my fiance the two weeks before I was able to order my own Miku.

 

I kept seeing these on Instagram. Bri wrapping up Mel with the tree decorations cracks me up every time! She just manages to look so innocent while doing something so mischievous.
