RaveOfNightmares Posted January 19, 2013 Photography, which I also plan to go to school for/make a second career from since I'm medically retired from the Navy. Quite a bit of fun, and quite a bit cheaper than the cameras and girls are. lol 21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future. PriestessYukiko Posted February 21, 2013 I collect anime figures. PVC, nendos, figmas (well, not so much anymore), trading, prize, etc... I have almost 300 of them lol. I also collect other anime merchandise such as posters, wallscrolls, DVDs, manga, magazines, artbooks, and plushies. I'm slowly downsizing a bit by selling some of my figmas and not preordering so much, but it's still hard because I love the hobby so much. But alas, I must put money away for a car this year... My girls: Yoko, Miyuki (Yukino 2), Saber Extra, Miku Hatsune My (hopefully) future girls: Kud, Saber Alter 2, Nia, Rise, Yuki N, Maria, Louise, Rena, Mio, Yui, Miki, Mariko, Natsuki 2, Melty, Mirai (Smart Doll)

Somonul Studios Posted February 26, 2013 Hobbies of mine, are pretty much anything artistic, slaving away in front of the PC modeling out things in 3D, and bringing them to life is a hobby of mine, or an addiction >_> Painting, drawing, writing, designing. Fun stuff. Photography and random road trips to anywhere. Great for inspiration to ;) I collect pretty much anything VP related that I can find.
Yukamina Posted February 27, 2013 I have lots of hobbies, but it's hard to attend to them all at the same time! Art, anime, music, Japanese... Right now I make My Little Pony plushies, which works out awesome, because it lets me afford my doll hobby As a starving student, I wouldn't be able to spend money on hobby related stuff otherwise (or if I did, I'd feel more guilty). sweetinsidebox Posted March 8, 2013 Based on what remember my other hobbies include, collecting figures like Pinky Street and Mini Lalaloopsies (though I haven't bought new ones for ether in a long while), Manga magazines and manga volumes(same thing with the figures) and drawing my own characters. As for how I feed into these hobbles I assumed that they were cheap hobbies, then they start to add up when I collect a lot of figures. Oh why is it that every time I find any hobby( even the free hobbies), I would end up going broke?
cptmorgana Posted March 12, 2013 I do a lot of collecting basically Next to my collection of resin bjd I collect jem dolls from the eighties cartoon jem an the holograms, which is eating up a lot of my money right now since integrity toys is bringing out new dolls atm. I still have an extensive barbie collection.( can't seem to get rid of them) I also collect comics and manga. And lots of history books that are stashed in my spare bedroom that i now call my library ( can't decide on wether or not to have a second kid, since having a kid would mean giving up the library oh decisions decisions ......) I like sewing, especially historic clothes (that me and my family wear once and then they end up in the attic, i never make anything that could be worn everyday) And i love to cook and am always experimenting with new recipes, which sometimes makes me venture into cooking very old dishes. And that brings me to my latest hobby , collecting old kitchen utensils that can still be used. (I for instance own: ice moulds and pastry moulds from the victorian period and an even earlier sabotiere/ ice cream churn) And the rest of my house is filled with nick nacks, items that i have no use for but that somehow cannot be missed, childrens toys from my son ( trains, trains and more trains), the last remainders of my pet collection (they somehow got old so of 2lovebirds , 5 rabbits and 2 hamsters only one of each species still survives up to this day and the bunny turned 10 in january) And i guess that's about it............. lol

Silverwing Posted April 6, 2013 Aside from Dollfie Dreams, I have more recently taken up collecting figures from some of my favorite sci-fi stories/games. I'm really into NECA's Alien & Predator lines and have a few sideshow Predators too. I have also collected transformers and Star Wars stuff as far back as I can remember. mitsuki Posted April 7, 2013 I love Alien merchandise. I remember seeing the first Alien movie as a kid and thinking there should be toys. There were Care Bear and Strawberry Shortcake toys so why not Alien toys? It didn't occur to me that kids would not be likely to be watching this movie. Luckily, they did come out with figures eventually.

(I doubt she had any Idea what kind of movie it was.) all she thought was "Kids like aliens right? aliens are cute, right?" I don't think I slept for a week. to this day that is probably the only movie that has scared me like that. probably why I still love it.

They just don't make horror movies the same way these days. Plus being a kid helps. It is easier to take it all so much more seriously and get scared. SchroedingersCat Posted April 7, 2013 I never really got into the Aliens quite so much, but Predator I can get behind 100%. The entire concept of a high tech species who live so primally is extremely fascinating. Not to mention some of the best movie dialogue of all time, "what's the matter Dillan, the CIA got you pushing too many pencils?" Lol. I even went out and got the Predator inspired Headhunter Nidalee skin in Lague of Legends. Just couldn't say no. Now with +/- 15% more uncertainty!

The behavior of the creature and the fact that the "hair" looks like dreadlocks is a plus for me too. the overall appearance and distinct differences from one predator to another was always fascinating to me. NECA has a whole bunch of good ones out right now. and they plan to release re-imaginings of the old kenner ones too. I had a whole bunch of those as a kid so I can't wait! Minuette Posted April 8, 2013 DD is actually my most "expensive" hobby. I have very little invested into my resin BJD, compared to my Obitsu, and my planned DDs. For the longest time I collected manga and anime, but I'd fallen off the anime radar for a while, and have only recently began to pick it back up. (I'm actually about to liquidate my collection, so to speak.) I'm also in to video games in a pretty big way, but they're really more expensive than I currently have money for. If eating delicious food counts as a hobby, that all comes strictly out of what I don't have in savings. Unfortunately for me it's a rare luxury. :c I had my hours cut at work, so getting ready to liquidate us how I feed my other hobbies. ;_;
Minnake Posted April 29, 2013 Money wise my most expensive hobby is definitely BJD stuff. I have 18 dolls now and I'm waiting for two. Most of them are petite/tiny size thought! Only 2 MSD, and the two that I'm waiting for are MSD. But now I have decided to thin out my amount of BJDs a bit, to get myself one or two DD. (^▽^) I love collecting, so besides dolls I put my money into Morning Musume goods, and Pokémon cards and plushies. Also Nintendo DS games. (°◇°;) Then I love manga and anime, but I have lately tried to not to buy anymore. I'm out of shelf space! xD On my free time (while watching anime xD) I like to knit and crochet. Mostly I do stuff for tiny dolls. Funny animal hats, shirts and dresses. My only "smart" hobby must be Aikido. I have been training Aikido for about a year now, and I'm looking forward to have my third graduation during summer. Aikido can take some money too, buying the training equipment, some weapons and stuff. (。ヘ°)
mosaicwolf Posted May 5, 2013 I don't have a DD yet, so that one's pretty easy to feed. lol. BJDs is my main money-drain. I just bought Narasaki Ryo off YJ and I'm preparing for her arrival. I also have a smallish Monster High collection, and collect Schleich and similar figurines, especially the fantasy ones. Oh, and I have a Vera Bradley habit. It's a wonder I can feed myself some months.
Amyseeker Posted May 5, 2013 Other of my hobbies it's collecting music, i mean, álbums & singles :3 I love how the look on my shelves, i have a lot! SakuraDreams Posted May 14, 2013 Well, I feed my DDs a regular diet of cash to buy their own food. They're very fickle about what they eat and have their own tastes. They hate my scrambled eggs and steamed rice. They will eat Pocky though and then they hate me when they gain inches so outfits no longer fit. *sigh* tsundere DDs are hard to please. U_U At home: DD Sakura Shinguji, DDS Yukiho Hagiwara, DD Asuna, DD Rina Ogata, DDS MOMO, DDS Ranko Kanzaki. Waiting for: Hatsune Miku Preordered: Ranka Lee Countdown to Hatsune Miku.
