Hello from Rhode Island

Hi I'm Kathy! I've been in the BJD hobby for more than 10 years now and this year got a Dollfie Dream (I owned an Aoi DDII years and years ago...maybe 2009?) again and fell in absolute love.

Although I still own my resins, there are times when I want to give them up...I find resin too heavy, never poses all that well and hurts my hands as I'm getting older. I own a Pukifee Mio, Luts Kid Delf Mango, Volks F-05 Old skin, and a Volks Kuuto YOSD. I love looking at them but never feel like doing much.

Somehow in all this I got my Kagamine Rin. Absolutely love this doll. I don't have to worry about my autistic son grabbing her, it's easy to buy clothing for her (since with an autistic son, I don't have much time to sew anymore) and she's sweet as can be.

I bought a DDH-05 last night who should hopefully be her complete opposite...I'm looking forward to getting her! I find that other than Mariko, I prefer the standards.

I'd post a picture of my Rin but I cannot yet post pictures.

Taking an extended break from any purchases to save up for Mariko!

Welcome to the forum! A lot of us are crossover hobbyists that arrived here from other sources. I also like the choices of the standard DDH-01 through DDH-10 custom or Volks faceup heads that can become your very own interpretation of a doll. I also started in resins, but now the DD'S out number them. Each type has pluses & minus, but the enjoyment is what we're here for. I hope we're able to help you along the way to that end!
