Saber Claus is Coming to Town- A Christmas Poem

Alter(nate) Title- "I Finally Bought a DD After 5 Years of Lurking on This Forum"

 

 

'Twas two weeks before Christmas

And all through my home

Carols played softly

As I flipped through my tome

 

My catalyst placed

In the circle with care

In hopes that my Servant

Soon would be there

 

I raised my hand and

Recited some lines

Recoiling as the sudden light

Nearly made me go blind

 

I looked around and

Naught did I see

Except the soft twinkling lights

From my Christmas Tree

 

"I must have messed up..."

As I closed the tome with a snap

And contemplated settling in

For a long winter's nap

 

I was on my way up the stairs

When there arose such a clatter

I ran back through the door

To see what was the matter

 

There in my living room

Right next to the tree

Stood a tiny figure

Golden eyes fixed on me

 

 

She was dressed as a Santa

With sack and with hat

"Hello my reindeer!"

She said, so matter-of-fact

 

"Who are you?" I cried

"Something's not right...

You aren't the Servant

I tried to summon tonight!"

 

"I am Santa." she replied

To my disbelief

And she held up a single,

Solitary holly leaf

 

One little leaf

From decorations up high

Had landed in the circle

Making my summoning go awry

 

"Don't worry," she chided

"Our time will be fun!

You are my reindeer and

Our adventure's just begun!

 

Together we'll fly through

The sky in my sleigh

And deliver presents to children

Until Christmas day!

 

I have several letters to be answered post-haste

So take my hand quickly,

There's no time to waste!"

 

She gripped my hand tightly

For someone so small

And smirked as she said

"I won't let you fall."

 

We flew up the chimney

And into her sleigh

"Sit here beside me and

We'll be on our way."

 

Then out from her sack

She drew a great sword

Gave me a wink

And without a word

 

The sleigh took off

Into the night

And she shouted

 

"Merry Christmas to all! And to all a good fight!"

 

Saber has been my Holy Grail ( ) of DD since the beginning of time... well the beginning of my time doll/figure collecting. She was how I found DDs. But every time I found one something else always came up and I'd have to put my plans to own her on hold. But, magically, everything lined up perfectly this time! So here she is - two weeks before Christmas and dressed like Santa
