DD VLOCKer's Fiore

There's a new DD that's been teased at Dolpa 38. I'm not familiar with this series nor character myself, but perhaps someone else is more knowledgeable?

Her sculpt has a nice wide smile, but somehow her face looks kinda long to me. I'll have to see more photos before making any final judgements, though.

I was thinking about posting this as well, but having some trouble figuring out exactly who she was. All I could read was the Japanese for what i assume is her name, プリマラ。I was having a terrible time trying to read “Fiore” and kept thinking it said something else. I hadn’t gotten around to looking at Volks website for their model kits or figures yet either. Good job figuring this one out!

 

I really like her head sculpt. My immediate thought was that she has to be a new DD release, because I can’t recall having ever seen a head that could even be nodded to look like that before.. I actually really like her, though I have no knowledge of any series she may be from either.

プリマラ is actually her subtitle(?) "Primula", while フィオーレ "Fiore" is her name. At least when I did some digging around twitter, I saw titles like "Fiore Primula Sinesis" フィオーレ「プリムラ・シネンシス」. But yeah, I'm still sorta clueless to what exactly she is. :'D

I suppose they're kinda like Frame Arms Girls, but manufactured by Volks... ? But then again, I don't know much about Frame Arms Girls either. xD;; This world is completely foreign to me, ahah..

Volk's take on Kotobukiya's Frame Arm and Frame Arms Girl ranges. The Frame Arms are plastic kits of giant robot designs, and based upon a common 'core' body frame which armour, the weapons and body parts are mounted. Frame Arms Girls are also plastic kits of 'mecha musume' interpretations of those robots. Seem to be very popular, lots of custom projects on the net. I don't see anything new that Volks is bringing to the party with this, but the character is cute.

I see her a lot in Volks News(The VLOCKers version anyway) so I assumed she's at least decently popular. I don't know if the DD version was just a one-off thing for Dolpa or an actual new doll though.

Woh! That's an interest sculpt! I love the wig too. Can't wait to see more pics.

I really like her face! I wonder how long til she's released (we still haven't heard more about Luka or 2B/9S). Her wig and outfit look a little unfinished.

What weekend was the Dolpa again? If it was this weekend, then she could be a custom and Volks is just feeling out that someone did a custom for one of their properties for a change. I mean, her face looks like Ranks through a cell phone's lens distortion and the hair color is so different from the figure,

I would second that she is a custom. The sewing work on the outfit has some small flaws (some fraying on the waistband, and some lack of fittedness) that I would not expect from an official Volks prototype. This is not to knock the customizer(s) at all--I think they did a great job, and the armor in particular is spectacular; it's just that the finish on the sewing would probably be different for an official prototype.

Yes, I could definitely see more of a Melty in that sculpt

I typed the original post on my phone, and had to take a phone call for my job before I could proofread it.

I saw her on Facebook and didn't know it was from a Volks source. She is cute, but it's sounds horrible, but I hope she is just a one off. But I am just saying that as I'm still upset that Sailor Moon isn't a pre-order or even a lottery. And the thought of the Volks version of Frame Arms Girls possibly being pre-order or lottery is really making me fume right now. Guess I need to step away from the keyboard and go spend some time with my girls.

They posted the teaser before the event started - they don't do that with random peoples dolls. But it doesn't really feel like an actual release to me. I'm not invested either way but unless there's more info I think she was just a special thing because it's JointFest.

I don't think it's a Ranka... The nose looks wrong and the face looks a tad too long from eyes to mouth. That being said, her face looks really pretty to me so consider me interested.

Perhaps they are doing it to try to get people that only normally get the model kits into dolls as well. It's a smart business move. And if they do a whole line of outfits and add on amour and weapons like for the plastic models, that could be really cool. That'd make some neat photo shoots.

Wasn't sure of the most appropriate thread to post this cos it has all kinds of stuff in it, but you do get a few angles of Fiore in it. Volks posted this video report of JointFest.

Honestly it looks like it was a really awesome one, so many display and history stuff, I'm sad I missed it.

 

Volks have been doing more videos lately and I really like that but...please rethink your music choices, Volks, that track is ok but damn is it repetitive D:

Her faceup looks like a factory printed one-- Her sculpt looks kinda unique, but I know a faceup can do wonders so I'm a little confused. It kinda LOOKS more like an actual new doll, but the fraying on the sewing and the wig color are a little odd for a planned release

I hope they plan on releasing her because I think she looks fantastic.

The official After-Report has some more info on this DDS Primula and a couple more photos. The doll was an official collaboration between the Volks hobby department and its doll department, produced for display at the Joint Festival 6 (Dolpa + Hobby Round) event. The idea, in the vein of the joint-festival theme, seemed to be to get doll fans interested in Vlocker's and vice versa, showcasing something that each group may not have paid attention to previously. There are no plans at present to sell DDS Primula commercially, but Volks didn't rule it out either, simply leaving it as a "we haven't decided yet."

 

That's pretty much all there was to say (Volks kept it short and sweet) since she was a display model. But now you can see bigger photos!
