Am I just really slow, but did the voting page change to include English.... I mean, the option wasn't there from day 1, right? It's not just me????

 

Also, with the new Fate/Heaven's Feel movies, kinda wondering if they'll do another run of Sakura, just like Rin v2 came before. Here's hoping they'll release the promo art white dress outfit set to go with her!

You're not slow, or crazy. It's had that for a while, but it wasn't there at the beginning for sure. The first email I got from Volks USA about it showed how to make the selections for age and such since that wasn't translated at the time.

I think they added the English after they wee getting so many voters not selecting Japan as their location. I've voted most days I think. Only one I've voted for every time was Sirius product model. I love the hair and there is just something about her face I love.

Aww, I missed voting last nightOh well. April 6th seems like a long time to wait between polls, I guess they could be processing the results of this round though. I hope they announce the next group soon.

Well, that confirms that the dates are definitely Japan time, which isn't surprising but I think they should've clarified that (why should we be expected to know that?), because that also means that assuming they go by that clock that it's very likely I voted twice during the same day many times since I didn't space votes ~24 hours apart but just made sure I voted before and after midnight PST.

I believe the next round begins April 6th.

I checked and the text in Japanese is the same thing without more info. I would expect that it means the next categories, DDdy/DDS/MDD or whatever breakout they do on those, whatever is next for SDs (if anything) and outfits.

I think there are a good deal more SD models they can choose from, but I am not sure if they have all had limiteds. I may not have noticed them, but I don't recall any of the boy models in the SD lineups, those have limited for sure.

They're going to run out of DD models to vote before they run out of SD models is my guess. They'd have needed to divvy the DD's up by bust size to keep up. XD

In the voting round that just ended, there was a note on the SD page that for models with the same head sculpt but different faceups, they picked just one.

 

As I'm not familiar with SDs at all really, I don't know if that affects this much i.e. I have no clue how many head sculpts there are or if there are really many using the same sculpts but just different faceups.

 

I only voted in that category so I could vote for Creamy Mami. And that brings up something I wish was changed in the voting. You have to vote for all three choices, it doesn't let you submit a vote with less. So I ended up just picking two other SDs that I thought were pretty and not creepy lol.

I don't really understand all of it, but the SD Limited's seem to be divided up into themed story arcs like Tokyo Boys Story, Oath of a Silver Coin, or Journey to Dream Nights. Within those arcs the same head may get released multiple times, but with a different face-up and outfit. Each character has a short story that defines them.

 

They also release one-offs based on their limited heads. Basically you get an existing head with a custom faceup and a themed outfit. If you like SDs the one-offs are usually beautifully thought out.

 

Jun Tachibana's head was listed twice; once as an SD13, and once as an SDGr. I didn't notice if they did the same for any of the others, and I don't know if the later edition of Jun had a different head sculpt than the SD13 original.

Yeah, I'm gonna be voting for Arle every day too. Arle and Yukiho are my top girls

 

As for SDs, the only one I really want is Yu Morisawa and I voted for her already, but maybe I'll see one in the next round that catches my eye. With so many I'm sure there are some adorable ones I haven't encountered yet.

Agreed, though I think Al Azif is also super cute in a more cartoony way than any recent releases. Original Illya has that funky 2004 aura (which I know some people do love) that has a totally different feeling to Prisma Illya's cute charm. I'm personally not a big fan of the tiny high mouth that's really close to the nose a lot of dolls that were released around then have, so her new look feels a lot better to me.

 

Still, I think Arle has a lot of potential as a rerelease since she's got a lot of outfits and she's just the cutest little thing ever and her aftermarket is killer...

That's also true, she does have some veeeeery thick lines on her face. Looking at the page of MDDs you linked before, it seems kind of like they were working at two extremes around then-- MDD Candy and Mirai have such light faceups they look almost unfinished and sort of underdone to me, while Etherelda and Al Azif have the darkest and thickest eyelash paint I've probably ever seen on a DD factory faceup. I prefer the latter to the former, but somewhere in the middle is probably best.

On a similar note, looking over this first finished voting gauntlet just reminded me that the Haruhi DD doesn't look right at all to me; the sculpt looks off compared to all her artwork and it's another one of those dolls produced in the mid-early 2000s that I'm not a huge fan even though I adore the character.

I think Haruhi has my vote as DD that looks least like the character, at least for the ones I'm familiar with. I'm agreed on some of the older dolls also having too light faceups, especially for ones that have larger and darker eyes. K-on Yui and especially Mio look practically like unpainted heads to me; I've seen some repainted Mios that look really nice though.
