New display setup pics UPDATED 2-3-18

Well, the New Year is right around the corner and since I've had some big changes occur in my life lately, I've decided to start going thru stuff in my DD collection and changing them up.

The first thing to do was rearrange my displays. That is, I needed to move the girls around a bit so they weren't so crowded in my bedroom. So I took a bunch of them out of there and now the others have a lot more room to breathe.

I didn't pick and choose with any regard to who got moved, it was random. Here's who stayed in the bedroom.... for now. I'm sure I'll rotate them around so no one feels abandoned.

Here's the girls in case you don't know them. From left to right is Asuka, Miyuki, Rin Tousaka, Saber Alter, Kanu, Saber Extra, Midori, Sprout and Elisabeth.

27536815599_f7a976ddd0_z.jpgDSC_0485 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Next up we have Aoi V1, Mari, Kiyomi and Katerina.

27536807399_6f8990fe62_z.jpgDSC_0486 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Then there's Reiko, Yukino, Mirai, Mashiro, Tsubaki, Fate, Sango and Mai.

25445366088_403c45405b_z.jpgDSC_0487 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Again, there's Mai behind my princess and muse Manami.

24450527207_7a6b6c352c_z.jpgDSC_0488 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Last but not least are Rei, Chitose, Chizuru and Ryomou.

That's everyone in the bedroom.

Now we move to the craft room. The girls took over the right side shelving area which is above all the storage bins for clothing and such. More on those in a few. Here's two different views of the shelves.

This is where most of my new girls hang out but there's a few of the older ones here too. Mamimi and Yoko watch over everyone in here.

Let's start with introductions. As before it's left to right. We have Ami, Alyssa, Reika and Kizuna.

Next is Sakaki, Akira, Mamimi and Sonya.

39313825791_2318067369_z.jpgDSC_0493 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Here's Aoki and Moonlight. I still need a real name for her...

38606412504_f4845e8eff_z.jpgDSC_0494 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Now it's Inari, Tasha, Tsuki and Kanna.

On the lower shelf is Lotus, Akane and Yoko.

Joining them are Torako, Kurenai and Motoko.

Down below the shelves are where I keep all my clothing, accessories and other doll related things. Here's the left side of the room:

24450458557_80e1a464f3_z.jpgDSC_0507 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

The first drawer set holds weapons along with extra hands and busts. The second holds extra body parts and wigs. The two long containers have maid uniforms and wigs in them.

Across the room under the girls are these other containers:

On the left are accessories and some clothing, the four on the right are all clothing.

And lastly, there are two smaller containers with all my MDD sized clothing. The huge tower to the right holds all my shoes, boots, eyes, hair accessories, cleaning supplies and underwear/lingerie/socks.

27536719699_e540a863d7_z.jpgDSC_0509 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

The rest of my girls are all MDD sized and they have their own house in the computer room. It's from Target and made for their line of 18 inch dolls but it works really well for MDD and 40cm sized dolls.

25445320598_c3f23097d4_z.jpgDSC_0498 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Here's Umi ( on the stairs ) and Luna.

Kino, Kiririn and Bud.

This is Nami, Hitomi and Kudo Noumi.

Minako on the stairs texting her friends.

In the living room we have Kikirin, Kasumi and Louise.

Lastly, down in the kitchen enjoying snacks and plushies, we have Kaitlynn and Konami.

So there's my family as of now along with where they stay in the house. In case you're wondering, I do have an Eiji that isn't in these photos. He's away on a secret mission and will hopefully be home soon.

Since I have more room to do things with the girls now, I'm planning on taking more photos and hopefully doing more stories with them in the new year.

Thanks for looking!

I have been gone for a long time... And I see there are new dolls that I don't recognize... !!!

I really like the way that you have your dolls set up. I like that you separated them out into different areas. It looks really nice! I like how you have the furniture and little MDD house. It is a cute way to display them. I wish that I had the room to put the dolls where I wanted, but I don't right now so I have them in a slim/tall glass cabinet.

As I have been, I am still a big fan of Mai. She looks great in that combination of wig/eyes/outfit. I really love her shirt and skirt, she looks sooo beautiful!

Moonlight is new to me, is she a Smart Doll? She is so beautiful with the silver wig against her dark skin tone. It's lovely.

I really like Torako as well, her fashion is completely my style. However, I can't remember if I saw her before... She feels familiar, but I am unsure. Regardless, she is extremely cute and well dressed.

MDD Luna is absolutely adorable! I love her pastel fashion, she is so cute.

I do remember Kikirin, and I still adore her... It looks like she has a blue cat friend of her own now? Does the blue cat have a name?

I like how you store your accessories and spare parts. I got a gift card for Home Goods, and I think I'm heading there today... I need some new storage things for my dolls, and other things in general.

Now that is a collection

What do you do about dust?

I have a bunch of figures on shelves and they get pretty dusty over the course of a few months. I can just brush them off though. Anything with cloth or hair lives in a cabinet.

Did a brief head-count, and unless I miscounted...60. I remember when it was 40!

They look a lot better spaced out like that, it's great you have that kind of space for them all.

That's so great you have the space to display everyone like that. My poor kids are all packed together on a pair of shelves (except for Kizuna and Chitose).

Thank you! I agree, it's nice to see them not stacked and packed like cordwood.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Actually dust isn't a real issue for me because I move the girls around quite often. I pick one every night to get her clothes changed, her hair brushed and body checked for stains. So it works out quite well for us.

Did a brief head-count, and unless I miscounted...60. I remember when it was 40!

You are correct! I have 60 girls and one guy, Eiji, who is out doing some recon for me at the moment. Hopefully he returns within the next month.

And thanks about the setup! I remember 40 as well.... heck, I remember when I said 8 was enough! It just never seems to end. But I've got the space for them so what the heck, why not keep adopting cuties if I can?

That's so great you have the space to display everyone like that. My poor kids are all packed together on a pair of shelves (except for Kizuna and Chitose).

Yep! I'm happy to be able to have them all out and easily seen and accessible. It helps having the whole house to myself.

...how long ago it seems you had only 5..... Also wow, dusting must be a nightmare O_o'

I know right?? Things were so easy back then! Sometimes I think I should try and slim down the collection a little but then I remember that it would be extremely hard to choose which lovely girls to give up..... I'm attached to all of them!

As for dusting, I get one girl per day and clean her, re-clothe her and brush her hair. The others get moved around often enuff for photos and doll meets so dust really isn't an issue for us.

Such a big family requires breathing room for sure! it's nice you have the room to spread them out. All of your girls are lovely, and it's always nice to see your impressive army

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like them.

I have been gone for a long time... And I see there are new dolls that I don't recognize... !!!

Oh yeah, lots of new girls have joined the family.

Thank you very much! The doll house works a lot better than I thought it would and it's certainly fun to decorate and add scale items to it for them. I know lots of people who use those large glass cases for their girls and they look really nice.

As I have been, I am still a big fan of Mai. She looks great in that combination of wig/eyes/outfit. I really love her shirt and skirt, she looks sooo beautiful!

Awww, thank you so much about Mai! I think she is so under-appreciated as a sculpt. I've always loved her and was happy I could adopt one. Her wig is a Leeke World one and her eyes are extra set that came with Saber Nero. The outfit is from Nightfall.

Moonlight is new to me, is she a Smart Doll? She is so beautiful with the silver wig against her dark skin tone. It's lovely.

She is indeed a Smartdoll! She was one of the last ones sold in this skin color. Danny is changing it to another more brownish tone so he cleared out all the girls and parts in this tone a few months back. I was very lucky to get this one because I much prefer this skin color to the new ones coming out. And thank you about her looks, I also love how she looks.

I really like Torako as well, her fashion is completely my style. However, I can't remember if I saw her before... She feels familiar, but I am unsure. Regardless, she is extremely cute and well dressed.

Thanks about Torako! I got her about a week after I got Bud and Kiririn. She's a custom 06 head girl that Subaru painted. I bought her form a friend up in NC a while back. She loves skirts and hats and lacy things!

MDD Luna is absolutely adorable! I love her pastel fashion, she is so cute.

Thanks! She uses the Decora style of fashion from Japan.... altho I don't let her go as overboard with it as most of the people doing Decora do.

I do remember Kikirin, and I still adore her... It looks like she has a blue cat friend of her own now? Does the blue cat have a name?

Thank you! Kikirin is one of my faves for sure. The blue cat is a plastic doll that's strung like a resin. I picked her up at a local doll meet. I don't know anything about her tho. The MDD girls just call her Blu.

I like how you store your accessories and spare parts. I got a gift card for Home Goods, and I think I'm heading there today... I need some new storage things for my dolls, and other things in general.

Thanks! They're the easiest way I've found to store all my stuff. I hope you find the things you need for yours!

I'm not sure you have enough Saber figures above the MDD Manor. But it's nice you got things arranged to your liking. That's always a plus.

Wow. so many girls in one place! truly an impressive display! I couldn't help but notice, but is one of the pairs of slippers on the bunk bed a Stormtrooper set? it kind of looked that way.

Oddly enuff, I started that little collection of Fate/Stay figures by *trying* to concentrate on Rin. As you can see, Saber kind of took over. And thanks!

Thank you very much! As for the "slippers" you mentioned, all those things are actually Disney Tsum Tsum plushies, not slippers. I was collecting them when they were being sold in Walmart for cheap but now Walmart has dropped them so my collection is at a standstill because I don't want to spend $5 or more on each one from Target or the Disney store online. I'm a cheapskate that way.

I think the blue cat is a Hujoo.

I have no clue but you may very well be right about that!

I still really, really want to know what's happening with that Eiji.

Man, with this setup, you even have some room to expand over in the (I guess it'd be called) the Doll Stuff room! Crazy.

If you're really, really nice, I *might* give you some hints.

I actually have an entire wall of open shelves in there so I could put almost all of my girls in there if I wanted to. But I've had them in my bedroom since I began collecting so some will have to stay there or things won't feel right. At least I now have room to get more storage for the clothes and accessories so I can put similar things together and make it easy to find stuff. Right now it's a free for all in there in the bins I'm using. I only have things separated out like one bin is all Volks, one is all character default sets, one is random clothing, etc.

I'd like to have all pants and skirts in one spot along with all shirts in another and all dresses elsewhere, just so I can find things more quickly and easily.

Update time!

Since the last pics I shared above, I've had time to rearrange my anime figure displays to make them look better. I started by taking all my Nendoroid Petites out of the computer room and put them onto the smaller shelves in the doll room.

39047577735_5fcb9bd2dd_z.jpgDSC_0796 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

I still have no idea what I'm going to do with the shelves on the left side of the doll room tho. For now, I put up a small photo area to the right and just have random stuff sitting on the other shelves.

39913733462_0fc3179ab7_z.jpgDSC_0794 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

The other side of the room has stayed the same.

39913730782_fd670a4070_z.jpgDSC_0795 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

The area in my bedroom has cleared out considerably and now everyone has settled in to their own spots.

25074212847_3f20a8cc62_z.jpgDSC_0797 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Moving all my Nendo Petites from the top of this display allowed me to rearrange the shelf with all my Evangelion figures on it. Now they are more spread out, easier to see and are all in one spot instead of three.

39047570125_3ed81bfdc6_z.jpgDSC_0798 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

The bottom shelf here used to be chock full of random figures and Eva ones too. But now my Pure Neemo girls have taken up residence there.

28166212019_5ed5a25324_z.jpgDSC_0799 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

Nothing changed here but I love my Ryomou shrine too much not to share pics of it.

39047562875_3e1e36140a_z.jpgDSC_0800 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

I did rearrange a few things on these two shelves but no big changes.

28166203649_d7966d73e8_z.jpgDSC_0801 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr

And that's all! I really need to figure out something for storage in the doll room so I can find clothing more easily. But nothing new springs to mind yet. I'll probably just get either more of those 3 drawer plastic bins or the big flat ones that slide under a bed for now.

Thank you very much! I also love seeing other peoples collections and displays. As for those storage drawers, I love them too! Most of mine were purchased from thrift stores for around $3-$5 for 3 drawers. The great thing is that they are stackable so you can put a whole bunch together for lots of room. I actually need to buy more of those soon since I have more space available for them and want to spread my girls clothing out more so its easier to sort.

I spy a Xenomorph

Yes you do! That's the original Kenner 18 inch Alien figure from back in 1978. I always wanted one so once I was able to afford one, I bought it. It's creepy as hell but it's super cool.

Ha ha, that's funny! Thank you very much for the kind words. I've always been a collector of *something* so when I find something I like, I go full bore into it. Sometimes that's good, other times it's bad. XD I move things around on display too so you are correct, I definitely don't get bored at home.
