baldylox Posted January 4, 2018 YESSSSS! It took 8 years but we finally got snow here in SC again! And boy did we get snow! At my house it dropped at least 5 inches in 1 day! We rarely get any snow at all and when we do it's like half an inch if that. So to get 4 and 5 inches and have it stick is about unheard of. So what did I do once it got piled up outside? I grabbed one of my little MDD girls and went to play in it! Hitomi was really wanting to go so I let her. DSC_0583 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "Lookit all the fluffy snow!" DSC_0584 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Zip your jacket up dear. "Hee hee! It makes funny crunchy noises when I walk on it!" If you had put on some leggings like I asked you to, you'd be much warmer...." "Ha ha, yeah right!" DSC_0588 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "So cold and fluffy." DSC_0593 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr DSC_0595 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr It was snowing the whole time we were out there but it did come down hard a few times. DSC_0597 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr DSC_0598 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr DSC_0599 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr She wanted to go run out into the street but I told her no. We decided to go into the backyard instead. DSC_0600 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr OMAKE: Right after I took the photo above, Hitomi did a faceplant into the snow. Here's what her imprint looked like when I picked her up. DSC_0601 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Here's one of my plants out front. It sleeted ice for a few hours before the snow started so we had a good base for the snow to cling to and stay on. DSC_0602 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr In the backyard the snow was beginning to cover the ground but my patio was already thick with it. DSC_0605 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr I let Lenny into the garage while I was in the backyard and crazy as it sounds, he wanted to check out the snow! He's an indoor cat and rarely goes out so I was amazed he would even TRY to walk around in the snow but he wandered around for about 5 minutes before deciding it was too cold for his liking. DSC_0619 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "Almost got the body done..." DSC_0621 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "Papa, go find me some eyes and a mouth. I got the arms and nose already." DSC_0622 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "And there's the head." DSC_0623 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "TAH DAH! My first snowman!" DSC_0625 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr His eyes are roofing nails and his mouth is a bit of speaker wire. XD DSC_0626 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "When will the snow stop?" I'm not sure, it's calling for it to do this until night time. DSC_0627 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "I really like the snow...." DSC_0628 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr "But I like hot chocolate better. Let's go get some!" DSC_0629 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr And so ends our snow time. I was out there about an hour and my toes and fingers went completely numb. The snow is still there today but the sun is out so I'm sure some of it will start to melt. But it won't be completely gone for a few days since it will be in the 30's for highs and lows in the 20's for the rest of this week. Maybe I'll get another girl and do more pics if I can shake off the cold. Thanks for looking! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. K-2 Posted January 4, 2018 I'm really enjoying all the snow pictures being posted lately. A 5-6" dumping is pretty common up here in Chicago so I don't think much of it (other than traffic's going to be a mess). Seeing these spreads from you folks who don't get measurable amounts of snow (and some of you who do) makes a snow storm special again. Thanks for posting these great pictures! sinclair Posted January 4, 2018 Glad you're having fun. We're getting mid 70's as our winter days. If we got even a 1/4 inch of snow the whole place would shut down not knowing what to do.

Anna-neko Posted January 5, 2018 meanwhile up in the frozen North... *sigh* we had the icicles thing happening on bushes couple weeks ago, and it was hilarious how all those bits of ice rained down freaking out the dog
Poofiemus Posted January 5, 2018 Hitomi and Lenny are both so cute! It's nice to get snow, have it stick long enough for photos. . . and then know it'll be gone in a day or two so you don't have to keep trudging through dirty snow for weeks. Glad you're having fun. We're getting mid 70's as our winter days. If we got even a 1/4 inch of snow the whole place would shut down not knowing what to do. Pft, the snow wouldn't even have to STICK to make people lose it around here. Most people in this town can't handle even a bit of rain. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser. Bouncing_Tigger Posted January 5, 2018 I love the fact that you are loving a little bit of snow! We have about 2 feet of snow and temperatures in the minus 30 to minus 40 range so no going outside for anything unless we are absolutely desperate! It's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey around here!! Brrrrr!

Seeing these spreads from you folks who don't get measurable amounts of snow (and some of you who do) makes a snow storm special again. Thanks for posting these great pictures! Thank you sir! It's VERY rare for us to get so much snow and then have it stick for several days. Most of the time it'll snow and then the next day it's gone. We're going on 5 days now with icy roads and snowy yards! Glad you're having fun. We're getting mid 70's as our winter days. If we got even a 1/4 inch of snow the whole place would shut down not knowing what to do. We are having fun for the most part. All the snow has kept me from working tho so I'm beginning to get a little stir crazy all cooped up in my house. And we are just like you, if someone sees more than 2 snowflakes falling at the same time, the whole city rolls up the sidewalks and shuts down. It's hilarious to see. Oh it's so cute :3 Thank you! meanwhile up in the frozen North... *sigh*we had the icicles thing happening on bushes couple weeks ago, and it was hilarious how all those bits of ice rained down freaking out the dog I know you guys up there are used to this kind of thing and I seriously have to wonder how you can deal with it so often. It's been 5 days so far here and I'm already DONE with it and want it gone. Those icicles can be LOUD when they fall off the house and hit stuff, it's happened here yesterday and I'm sure will fall today since it's supposed to be in the low 40's this afternoon. Hitomi and Lenny are both so cute! It's nice to get snow, have it stick long enough for photos. . . and then know it'll be gone in a day or two so you don't have to keep trudging through dirty snow for weeks. Thanks so much! I'm still amazed Lenny ventured out into it on his own. And it's been 5 days of snow now so I'm already tired of dealing with it. Today it's supposed to be in the low 40's and tomorrow back up into the 50's so I'm praying this stuff will finally melt off so I can get back to my normal life of working and driving around over 20mph again. I love the fact that you are loving a little bit of snow! It's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey around here!! Brrrrr! It's so rare for us to get ANY snow here tho! Much less have it stick around for days! I took advantage of it tho and got some more pics of my Ryomou out in it..... I'll be posting those shots soon. And I don't blame you for not leaving your house. That is WAY too dang cold to do anything! Hope you guys are staying warm, Hitomi looks so cute in the snow~ Thank you! We're staying inside as much as possible under blankets and the heater vents. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

(temperatures in Fahrenheit shouldn't be negatives, she screamed from somewhere inside her blanket fort) Today's forecast cheerfully announced "not as cold" ...and then showed 15°F We deal by having giant barrels of sand & mountains of salt prepped sometime in November.... also we complain a lot, but in true New Englander ways everyone still continues having iced coffees from Dunkin's anyway, looking forward to some Ryomou shots next ^___^
