Amber Posted January 10, 2018 Does the forum still do holiday events? I have just come back from a long hiatus... But I remember that we used to trade Valentine's cards/small gifts, and other holiday trades like that... If anyone is interested I could organize a Valentine's day event. It was always exciting and fun to me. If this sounds like something fun, make a response below with some ideas? I was thinking that people could pick a doll of theirs that would like to participate in the event, and then we can list some things about our doll. Like favorite color, what kind of candy they like and dislike, etc. Then I can randomly assign partners or something like that.
LexiKat13 Posted January 10, 2018 I'm definitely interested, this sounds super cute
Shailara Posted January 10, 2018 I am also interested, it really sounds cute! I do think I've seen similar events go on Maybe we should also put a maximum amount of money that we will spent, so that we don't feel "obligated" to spend a lot of money? sinclair Posted January 10, 2018 Things like this do happen, but only when someone steps up and does all the leg work like you are saying you'll do. And on that note, my girls would love to be a part of this. They'll have to draw straws to figure out who.
Noxxbunny Posted January 10, 2018 I'd also be interested though maybe also specifying whether it's a just a card swap or a full gift swap would be nice too. The last swap was sorta "do whatever" and I think that can maybe be a bit confusing. I also agree with the spending limit so there's just more of a guideline lol. Amber Posted January 11, 2018 Oh yay people are interested! I like the ideas that you are telling me about. I'll try to make sure that there is a general guideline to what kind of things should be exchanged. If a few more people show interest, I'll start writing up a thread for a Valentine's day event with your ideas involved as well. I'm thinking at least 8-10 participants would be a good amount? baldylox Posted January 11, 2018 Littlebearries, the first forum moderator, used to run all the card swap events here. Since she's stepped out of the hobby and no longer does those events, no one else has been actively trying to get them going again. I wish I had the time for setting these kinds of things up but I sadly don't. But if other people want to run these events again then I'm all for it. I participated in a lot of the ones we had in the past and they were great fun so it'd be nice to see them going again. So Amber, if you're wanting to run some card swap events then by all means feel free to! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
