The Hatsune Miku (And Piapro/Vocaloid) New Outfit Thread

I love the outfit but the wig is not for me :c I feel like I always regret skipping the Snow Miku outfits when they go bananas on the aftermarket though... I'll have to think it over.

I was so excited and ready to pounce on this, but that price, augh! We'll see. It's so cute though, I didn't even noticed the sleeves were like shrimp this whole time. I always wish the wig wasn't quite that green. Still... I might get... Same as above, I don't want to regret it when it starts going for 500 on the aftermarket 9_9

I'm disappointed, because I really liked the teaser pic, but the peach-colored kimono fabric looks kind of cheap, and the braided parts of the wig look like cloth, not hair, if you look closely at the picture. I'll wait for more pix, including of the brown underskirt and boots, but at that price, I expected something better.

This is also something I don’t like. Almost every Snow Miku hairstyle  lately features something that wouldn’t work as a typical doll wig (ie hair that looks like waves etc) but I’m used to them taking artistic liberty and getting the wig close enough to it. This compromise is kinda bizarre, but also seems like it would be really heavy on the wig…? On the plus side I’m sure they’re removable. I don’t really like the colour of the wig though. It might just be the lighting, but it looks a lot more like Senbonzakura colour in this pic whereas it’s much lighter/brighter in the artwork.
 

tbh my reaction to this outfit wasn’t all that positive but the picture is of her kneeling and it’s kinda bunched up so it looks more bulky so I didn’t want to be negative immediately. I think it will be easier to evaluate with a standing photo. To be honest though I think this particular Snow Miku design works better in chibi form. (makes sense, because the nendoroid is the focal part of the design contest, but there are designs that work well in multiple scales too I think, like the Snow Princess)

I"m not gonna lie,, I like the outfit and the wig.  To me, it looks very different from the usual outfits I've seen Miku wear.  Its long, yet not a kimono nor a Lolita-type outfit, the food makes it look cute to me, and the wig is an interesting color.  I might just take the cloth parts off of the wig and braid it myself should I be able to get this outfit.

I didn't think I'd like Miku's Fuyuura wig color, but once I put it on my Miku, and saw the color and the color variation in person, I'm really glad I bought it despite the price. 

Any idea when the Winter Feast outfit supposed to go on sale to the rest of the world outside of Japan?

I absolutely love the outfit. Not too sure about the weird braids in the wig but do like the colour of the wig. I hope I'll win Miku NT so I can get this set for her. 

I'm a bit disappointed in volk's execution of this years snow miku outfit, I might wait for more pics of the outfit to be released plus some in store display pics as well as maybe their lighting in the picture makes it look a bit off. But for 30k to 33k yen, I'd rather just comm someone to make it for me with better materials and to make it look closer to the original artwork colorwise.

The orange part looks much more peach than its supposed too and the apron and bow should've been cream colored. The stark white looks a bit strange with the more warm autumn tones and the darker brown ribbon. Doesn't suit that aesthetic very well.

As for the weird cloth braids, they could've just done something similar to what the cosplay wig makers are doing. The braid doesn't need to be as thick especially since its something that wouldn't be very plausible with real hair.

I really like this years snow miku design so I'm just disappointed in what we see right now, maybe it will look better once they release more pics and in store display pictures. But they really came through with the princess snow outfit I'm def fighting the rerelease click war for that one.  Their 2021 snow miku outfit was also pretty nice as well dunno whats up with the last couple of snow miku outfits. 2023's wig feels like party city quality.

These were the exact issues I have with it, too.  The overall 'tone' of the outfit is just off from the muted, almost sepia vibe the original seems to be going for.  I could honestly forgive the kimono being more pink-leaning if the apron wasn't bright white.  It just clashes too much for me.  I think if you gave the entire outfit a subtle tea-stain, it would look so much more accurate.

But I'm also not the target audience for Snow Miku outfits, anyway lol

I’m still debating on the 2024 set, I’ll need to see more pics first, but I definitely want to get the rerelease of the snow princess set. Do you think it will be a pre order too?

I loved the warm colours this years design had so I'm also a little disappointed in how Volks has seemingly not quite hit the mark on their version of it... Maybe more pictures in different posing and lighting might change my mind but it just looks off to me 😔 I usually don't mind the costumes being slightly different colour-wise and it's understandably hard to be exact with the original reference but when a large part of this years design appeal is the warm and cosy feeling, missing that aspect makes it seem like a bigger difference imo.

I was looking at the pics that @AwkwardMango posted and I didn't notice the whiteness of what is cream-colored in the drawings.  I think that if I can get it, I'll probably end up tea-staining it.  Since I rarely sell any outfits, I don't need to worry about any resale values.   I still like the outfit despite the bright white parts. 

@AwkwardMango, are those the human-sized cosplay outfit pics as well as the official pic in your post?

Ohh tea staining is a great idea. It will definitely match the tone better than the bright white.

My partner just pointed out a very good point.  "The white parts makes the entire outfit pop more than the cream parts."  I'm paraphrasing, of course, but you get the jist.

Looking at the official art pic and at the official outfit pic, I have to say that's true.  The white parts, at least to me does seem to make the entire outfit pop.  I know that the idea is to be warm and relaxing and whatnot, but I like that the entire outfit seems to be more striking with the white added.  Perhaps that's why Volks chose white vs cream.  Idunno.

I still hope that we get a Yukine with the biscuit ear plushie with her!

Online webstore orders are from 16 Feb to 24 March with the usual vague delivery time of ‘autumn’. 
 

Looks like those…plaited plush balls(?) are not pre-attached to the wig at least. Seeing them in the full body standing pics though…they just look really silly to me. Also kinda funny that her eyes aren’t that different to regular Miku’s default eyes, but then again not every has those. I do still think this set would have looked better modelled on NT, but I’m sure there will be plenty of user pics of that later.

Oh YAY!  I was notified on X/Twitter that Volks is also re-releasing the Snow Princess outfit, along with quite a few of the other Snow Miku outfits.  Welp, it looks like I'm going to be broke for quite some time.  It'll be worth it to get a couple of the outfits I've wanted for Miku.  Now to choose which ones I want the most.

After seeing the rest of the pictures, I like the new outfit more than I thought I would. I'm glad the "balls" aren't attached to the wig (which I otherwise like). I wish the colors were deeper, like the original drawing, but I'm going to go ahead and preorder, since I do like the overall style and look. 

The outfit definitely looks better in the full body photos, but those fabric balls on the pigtails... those look worse.  I can forgive everything else, because the outfit is cute in the end!  But it still just feels a little uninspired and like Volks was just doing what was 'required' to put out the next Snow Miku outfit because they 'have' to.  Best of luck to anyone going for it, though!  I know owners will make it look MUCH cuter than Volks did 😂

After seeing the rest of the pics I think I’m old on it. It still looks more like an autumn outfit than winter, but it’s really cute. I’m definitely getting the snow princess set, and am debating the glowing snow set. I really wish they had released twinkle snow too. It and snow princess were my favorites. Maybe next year?

As a vinyl newbie, I've never really followed Volks releases before, so it's been fascinating watching this release's info through the forums! Collab dolls are waaaay out of my price range, but I personally think the doll is very cute, and the wig besides the removable hair balls is absolutely adorable. Since they're removable, I suppose you could use hair extensions to make a more serviceable version of the braids if you really wanted to?

Just a heads up, the only outfit getting a resale on the web store is Snow Princess (on the 16th of feb) - and they clarify it’s because it was the winner of the poll for collab outfit rereleases. So it may be an actual rerelease as opposed to new old stock after all (although it’s still a regular sale and not a preorder, so who knows)

The other outfits listed are only at the Sapporo store as part of Sapporo’s Snow Miku event, they do that every year.

The outfit is cute, but the colour combo isn't really doing it for me so luckily I won't need it. xD I still think 2017 Snow Miku is the best version lol.

I can already tell from the photos that her wig's fiber is this thin and kind of plasticky type, which gets static really easily and there's flyaway strands everywhere, so it's going to be a pain to manage without a wig mist. The braided cloth at the end of her twintails sure is an... interesting choice. :D; 

But gosh, the little spoon and fork hairpins are adorable! 😍 I wish they'd realise to make hairpins like this as part of their monthly clothes collections sometime... I'd love some more cute hairpins for my Rin without having to puchase a full limited outfit/doll. ❤️

Although, rereading it, the wording is a little unclear on whether it actually won the online vote. What it specifically did win was a separate vote specifically for Snow Miku outfits the Sapporo store ran.

So there’s a chance it won’t be the only rereleased collab outfit…? 🤔 

Edit: either way this is the first time I’ve seen the polls mentioned since they happened, it wasn’t even mentioned for the Miku NT release (which I’m relieved for because it just felt unfair if Miku won a rerelease poll twice in a row)
