Wigs, Wig Caps, and Head Covers.

Yaya and Yumi keep losing their wigs. Yumi was an easy fix, I put a silicon cap on her head. For Yaya, the wig cap is also black, so I don't want stains, which I know the silicon cap doesn't protect against. So I had a Volks head cover on her, and and think that has been adding to the wig falling off as it's two layers. What is the best order to put the silicon cap and head cover on to protect and keep things in place? Should the silicon cap go over or under the head cover?

This probably should be in the Questions and Answers subforum.

I've done cloth cap, silicone, and then wig before and it works. I mostly did it to help a wig fit on a small head better though. I wanted to layer on size.

If the cloth head protector is slipping you should be able to use Volks Wig Stopper to keep it in place. It's basically micro-velcro for dollfie heads, but it does make it harder to put the wig on and can snag the hairs on more complex wigs. You wouldn't have that issue with the stopper under the cloth cap though.

One other note is that the volks caps are made from a slick material. Coolcats caps are made from rougher cloth and I think they are more slip resistant with wigs.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

On problem wigs where I have space I have done a Coolcat cloth cap sandwiched between two silicone caps. Then it's non slip on both sides but still has the cloth layer. I used the Coolcat cloth cap because it's a bit thinner and less slick. Doing this requires putting the second silicone cap on by turning it inside out then flipping it around against the head/other caps like you would do with a rubber swim cap.
