aaircrash Posted May 11, 2012 The Hunger Game series was great! the last book was kind of depressing though... I've just finished the second book of the Divergent series, Insurgent by Veronica Roth. It's pretty good! Think you'll like it if you liked the Hunger Games. I agree about the last book, in fact out of the three the only one I really felt myself getting into was the first one. (Though I really loved the epilogue at the end of Mockingjay :3) Wishing Uzuki Shimamura, Rin Shibuya Owning Miriam (Smart Doll Mirai), Alexia (DDS Marisa Kirisame)

milkytea Posted July 17, 2012 I've been reading up a storm with this abysmally hot weather that makes me want to move as little as possible, so now I'm on to Idoru by William Gibson. I love William Gibson's works intensely. ♥
leitan Posted July 18, 2012 I've been reading up a storm with this abysmally hot weather that makes me want to move as little as possible, so now I'm on to Idoru by William Gibson. I love William Gibson's works intensely. ♥ Idoru was an amazing book, i read it a couple years ago so probably time for a re-read. also a WG fan here. if you read his wiki/biography online, it becomes clear that he's actually a really amazing, clever person who predicted a lot of stuff about the internet 'before his time' so to speak. i actually don't have anything to read right now (aside from manga, but that doesn't count). wondering what to pick up next, summer is the perfect time for reading IMO. Anna-neko Posted July 18, 2012 I have been feeling like a super-mature adult lately and reading How to Train your Dragon/Heroic Misadventures of Hiccup series ... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah, maturity for the win!! Especially with the one break that involved listening to one chapter from the audiobook. My inner-fangirl was spazzing out so badly over fact its read by David Tennant... that hadda go back to reading books the proper way instead
katnaper Posted July 25, 2012 Currently finishing the Blood+ series of Novels. jadepixel Posted July 29, 2012 My friend just handed me Steven Brust's Jhereg books, finished the first today- http://www.amazon.com/Jhereg-Steven-Brust/dp/0441385540 'Jhereg' was a lot of fun, featuring a game-y fantasy world with Epic weapons and 12 rival houses and competing magical systems, wrapped around an impossible criminal caper. It's a lot to take in at first but the writing is light and a quick read, and supposedly the author slows down and explains a bit more in later novels. Oh, and there are dragons! So that's always a plus jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

Prior to that, finished reading the Fifty Shades series just because I was intrigued about what it was all about ... is all I can say. Not sure what I'm going to read next, anybody know a good Fantasy Series to read? If you need a good fantasy series to read, I'd recommend The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. It's like 12 books long now so it'd keep you busy for awhile. The first book is Wizard's First Rule. There's a great romance aspect to this series too, if you're into that. If you're into Forgotten Realms type fantasy then I'd recommend the Drizzt books by R.A. Salvatore. There's like 20 books in those so again that would keep you busy lol. I'd recommend starting with Homeland, but technically the first published book was The Crystal Shard. As for what I'm currently reading...The Bear (Saga of the Last King #4) by R.A. Salvatore. If you like awesomely written sword fights...this guy is AMAZING. DD Family: Kara (Power Girl) HDD-02 & DDDyIII
DJStarstryker Posted July 29, 2012 Not sure what I'm going to read next, anybody know a good Fantasy Series to read? If you like dark/military-oriented fantasy, try the Black Company series. It's about a military-like group of mercenaries that end up getting hired for a job by some evil people and things go from there. Most of the series is told by the group's medic + historian. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

I've seen the TV series and liked it. So we'll see. I used to read tons of Fantasy novels back in college will have to go back to sone of the series I've read. I used to have all of the Shanarra books but had to leave it home, couldn't bring it with me when I moved to Canada. Also all the Xanth series, Raymond Feist's Riftwar, LOTR, brings me back... lol. I'd tell you but it'd give away a key plot element in the first book. When I read the books I don't see richard as this skinny unshaven guy like in the show. But having watched the show I definitely see Kahlan and Zedd and later Cara as the characters from the show. Hope you're in for a long haul, b/c they're pretty addicting and some of them are really long lol. DD Family: Kara (Power Girl) HDD-02 & DDDyIII

Ravendruid Posted August 4, 2012 Just finished my annual Lord of the Rings marathon, and got nostalgic for Saberhagen's Book of Swords series. It's not Tolkein, but certainly not bad, either. Daddy of: Yuriko, Sohi, Miku and SK's many kids
DJStarstryker Posted September 6, 2012 Place where I'm living has a good library, so I think I'll start reading more again. You know, because I don't actually have to spend money to read stuff. I'm on a "young adult" fantasy kick. Recently read The Hunger Games and Witch and Wizard. Think I'll try to get the sequels to both at the library soon. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
blueboy57 Posted September 6, 2012 Reading the newest Drizzt novel by R.A. Salvatore....Charon's Claw, Neverwinter Saga III. It's in the Forgotten Realms family of books. Drizzt is my all time favorite character. And the Drow (dark elves) are so intriguing. They're just so evil and manipulative and evil (cept for Drizzt) so they're fun to read about. If you're looking for a good LONG...and I mean long fantasy series to read, I'd definitely recommend the Drizzt books. There are 21 total about Drizzt. 2 of the books in chronological order are actually about one of Drizzt's friends and one about his nemesis so I didnt include them in the count. Start with Homeland. It wasn't written first but it is first chronologically. DD Family: Kara (Power Girl) HDD-02 & DDDyIII
Nekopon Posted September 6, 2012 Finished reading Daughter of Smoke & Bone yesterday. It is an absolutely delicious read if you're into YA. It's got a lot of fantasy and a bit of romance in it but it's pretty touching! Finally started on The Fault in Our Stars today which is supposed to be an amazing book. Pretty good so far, 80 pages in.
littlebearries Posted September 7, 2012 Finished reading Daughter of Smoke & Bone yesterday. It is an absolutely delicious read if you're into YA. It's got a lot of fantasy and a bit of romance in it but it's pretty touching! I *JUST* started this yesterday!!! I'm so glad to see a good review of it, I'm only about 80 pages in, but I'm really impressed so far, the language, especially, isn't dumbed down completely, which I love.
