AerisAquata Posted February 8, 2012 I'm now reading the Hunger Games trilogy. It kind of makes me think about the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield.

Anouc Posted February 9, 2012 "Das Kind" from Sebastian Fitzek.... its a german autor but he is awesome ... really great thriller ^^ ... AerisAquata Posted February 10, 2012 I am planning on watching the movie. I don't think the Hunger Games really lives up to the hype. I didn't really connect with any of the characters, but I thought Peeta's love for Katniss was adorable. Honestly, I've read fanfiction that moves me more that that series did. archangeli Posted March 8, 2012 Currently reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King. It's actually very engrossing (and not a horror novel). Archangeli.net | Twitter: @MsArchangeli | YouTube: Archangeli

Exokiel Posted March 10, 2012 Right now I'm totally into the Malazan Book of the Fallen fantasy series from Steven Erikson. Really great series with a deep plot and many different showplaces (other continents) and storylines. My other lecture is Hyperion from Dan Simmons, although I sometimes catch myself daydreaming and imagining how life could be in another galaxy or if there are other intelligent beings out there. OtakuDepot Posted March 12, 2012 I'm very glad I'm not the only "Wheel of Time" (Robert Jordan) fan here. I've been reading that series for about 15 years now and just can't get enough of it. I'm very excited to finally see what happens (last battle) when the final book comes out soon but also sad that the series is ending. I've recently read "Elantris" (Brandon Sanderson) which was fantastic. I've also recently finished off "The Alloy of Law" (also Brandon Sanderson), the 4th book in the Mistborn trilogy. Seems there will be even more books coming. I finished "Life Expectancy" (Dean Koontz) about a month ago and loved that as well. I've been very lucky that I haven't had a stinker of a book recently! I've read the first two books in that series and even though I hadn't picked up book three yet, I couldn't resist getting volumes 4-10(?) hardcover for $1 each at a store called Book Off. I'll get back to this series when I clear out a little bit more of my backlog.

I've also re-read the series a few times as well as listen to the audio books at times. I love Mat, who can't? haha I didn't think I could like him even more than I did but after seeing his reaction to what happened because of his bargain with the Eelfinn in the last book..... too cool!!! Oh, can't forget Loial. He's another one I think everybody loves. I love re-reading them but nothing beats that first read when it's new and exciting. Great deal as well on the books! I'm hoping after the series finished that they release a nice leather bound set for collectors. I don't think I could turn that down. Let me know what you thought of it when you're done. I finished it not too long ago and I thought it was good. I enjoyed it a lot actually. It made me think that I've read quite the random assortment of Stephen King's stuff and quite like them (The Green Mile, The Eyes of the Dragon, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption). As I was reading it I was thinking "this would make a great movie" - and love seeingthe 1950's and 60's in film. It turns out the film rights have already been acquired (according to Wikipedia-sensei). GebGeb said: I'm reading Sherlock Holmes, all of it lol I was so mad at the second movie that I decided to read every Sherlock Holmes stories I did that one summer when I was in high school. I discovered a beautiful hardbound book of all of stories, printed in "magazine column" style with the original illustrations by Sidney Pagett. It's a gorgeous book, and one of my "treasures" since they don't make books like that anymore. I had to read the longer stories online though (The Sign of Four, Study in Scarlet, etc) since they came before the Strand magazine publications if I recall correctly. I'm reading the Hunger Games now. I'm about halfway into Catching Fire. I like the dystopian world she's imagined up, although the I find the main characters don't have much depth. milkytea Posted March 31, 2012 I'm also reading that series. I've read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire; I just started Mockingjay. I don't really like reading whatever is popular, but a friend of mine recommended them to me for a somewhat specific reason, and when I realized I could read them for free through the Kindle renting thing I decided to go ahead. They're definitely not the best books I've ever read, but they're not awful~ My favourite thing about reading them has been William Gibson's comment that these stories constitute a subset of science fiction that could be called "Gladiatorial Dystopia." aaircrash Posted March 31, 2012 I'm rereading Catcher in the Rye right now, can't say I like it anymore then the first time I read it though ._. honestly it's rather disturbing to me and I find myself getting really angry at the main character while I'm reading xD Wishing Uzuki Shimamura, Rin Shibuya Owning Miriam (Smart Doll Mirai), Alexia (DDS Marisa Kirisame)
