Galvatim, YOU are the one falling behind! You've only adopted one girl this year (Aya) and I already adopted Miyuki and Mai. So I am one up on you sir!

 

I'm so glad to hear that Mitsuki enjoys seeing me freak out and get all whiney when asked about more adoptions.... you're quite welcome dear.

 

I'm not positive on what you mean by the 01 and 03 being "mutually exclusive options." If you mean that I only want the 03 head for the DDI body and not the DDS and vice versa then yes, that's really the way I see those girls being created. I see the 03 being another sister of the same age or close to the rest of my girls and the 01 being an actual little sister that's considerably younger than the rest and having a direct tie to Manami.

 

I would actually entertain the idea of adopting a full on Yukino Character Dollfie if the DDI body isn't able to get adequately restrung/tightened. The arms did get fixed at the sewing meetup tho so that's taken care of. But the girl that did that could not figure out how to do the legs. So I am still not 100% sure on how this will affect me and a future daughter using that body.

 

If the above isn't what you were asking Mitsuki, then explain it to me in small words so I can "get it".

Baldylox, you forget that I have the painted DDH-01 on the way too! Still deciding on a body for her, since that won't be til May... I'm thinking of naming her Mayumi. I might break my self imposed rule of 3 Dollfies per year this year too.

 

I hope things go well with the DD1 body. I think it's cool to have one, from a historical prespective.

I just mean that maybe you can only afford one or the other. Or maybe that significant time must be between the two to recover.

Ah okay. I see what you meant then. I am going to try and make them both happen this year as long as Volks makes the DDS available by years end. I *know* I can make the DDI body into a girl cheaply. All I need is the head, a faceup and a wig/eyes. I can do that for around $100 give or take depending on the wig used and the faceup artist cost.

It will depend on how bad the DDI body acts up for me. When I had Tsubaki around, she was awesome in seated and limited standing poses. But if I wanted more action style shots like I do with the others, I don't know how well it will work and how frustrated I will become. I can always just buy the head, put it on the DDI and see what happens. If I hate it, I can easily just get a new DDII body and finish her up that way.

 

As long as the Shapely L Bust is made available separately, I plan to do just that and see if Miyuki prefers it over her normal one.

A DDS Azusa sounds fantastic! She would probably not be available in the U.S. There are still ways to adopt one though. Who are your top 5?

Haha, Baldylox, if you're whoring out 1/3 scale tables, I might have to take you up on that... I've gotta save every penny for Kudo right now though. I should really get the girls a sofa or bench to sit on too. The boxes from their stands are a totally ghetto seating fixture for them...

 

It's bad enough having all those extra parts from Figma and other small figures around, I can see why you'd wanna get a head for the DD1.

I'm hoping that since the anime is due out in April from Bandai (so May if we're lucky...), that any more K-ON! DDs will be available overseas... Not really expecting that to happen, if there even are any...

 

My top 5 are: Asuka- Evangelion, Rin- F/SN, Mio- K-ON!, Shana, and Nanoha. Or sometimes Kanu. I might put Saya Takagi from Highschool of the Dead in spot 5 now... I don't think I've seen a show that can be both so depressive yet so positive at the same time.

I'd like to have a DDI sometime, I think it'd be pretty cool. I have a few strung 1/6 dolls actually, including Motoko from GITS, and a reproduction of the original GI Joe.

I have end tables from Baldylox. They are awesome! I asked for shiny black ones. They are so shiny, smooth, and 1:3 scale. They are so cool. They were really easy to put together too.

Well, I do suppose that whoring 1/3 tables *could* make me some money but shipping costs are not low on them. Mitsuki did get a pair of endtables tho and she seems to like them. Maybe there is a small market for them, I dunno. If you want one or two Galvatim, let me know and we'll talk. I'll give you the family discount!

 

One of these days I need to figure out how to do wooden chairs for them. I've seen some designs I like but have not had time to plan them out for a material list. Same with a bunk bed. I want one of those and have a drawing of what I want already. I just need to get off my butt and make time to get materials and then build it.

 

Yeah, an unused body just bugs me for some reason. I feel like it *needs* a head or it will be sad inside. And I don't need sad, headless bodies around the place. Rei may get ideas for it....

I'll be interested in seeing how those bunk beds turn out, too! sounds like a really cool project!

 

I'm almost curious as to what ideas Rei would get from a headless body... Not enough to actually say you should do it, mind you.

Even tho the area your girls sit in isn't a fancy bit of furniture, I do think it's extremely nice! They're all near each other and have a LOT of cool toys surrounding them. I like that picture.

 

I have yet to try my hand at chairs but maybe by the time you get money saved up, I'll have something going on that front. As for the bunk bed, I'm thinking I need to get materials soon and get started. But that's a weekend deal and the next 2-3 weekends are pretty much shot due to family gatherings and the like. I'll review the blueprints and see what I can do.

 

Anne is actually coming by my place tonight to show me new fabrics and materials for kimonos. She will also be dropping off more pajama sets and possibly some more clothes. I talked to my Mom briefly last night and she rambled on about a bunch of stuff so I'll know more tonight and tomorrow. I'm glad you like some of Annes stuff! With this next batch of clothes, I may make another post and have the girls model them. It seemed like people enjoyed seeing Yoko in those short PJ's so maybe modeling them will boost sales.

 

I have no idea what Rei would do with a headless body but I am sure it would have something to do with scaring the bejeezus out of Manami and Yoko. She'd probably have Miyuki or Mai in on the deal tho since those two are a little more mature. Well, Miyuki isn't totally mature but Mai is.

Thanks! I love that they are right next to my computer, and honestly much easier to get at and safer than on top of the bookshelf. My dad likes to back into that bookshelf...

That would be cool, if you could hook me up with a chair or two. I'm thinking of getting one of Volks' sofas. That should seat two or three of the girls. Queen-emporer Aoi-chan needs a throne, of course...

I like those pj's, very cute! Want I'd really like in a kimono. Right now, I'm saving for Kodu and a car payment, but if I loose the Volks lottery, I'll be in touch about some clothes.

I could see my Aoi getting up to some mischief with the DDdy body I'm getting tomorrow... Mari better watch out... On the other hand, I'm probably gonna let Mari or Natsuki try it out, so maybe Aoi's the one who needs to watch out...

Well, Now that Mari has laid claim to the DDdy body, I've altered my plan a bit. Aya has an M-bust DDII body, just like Aoi, and I'm getting a natural black wig for her.

 

For her eyes, I'm thinking for getting the ruri kon I type, and give one to Aoi, and one of Aoi's current eyes as Aya's. So Aoi and Aya would have one blue and one green eye each.

That sounds really cool! Reminds me of the twins on Rozen Maiden. That will be neat to see! Any idea of when you may be seeing this come together?

That sounds awesome! Just like Baldylox said, it reminds me of Rozen Maiden's Suiseiseki and Souseiseki. That's so cool. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

My biggest obsticle right now is the weather. It's still too cold to do Aya's face-up. There are a couple of wigs I'm looking at on Leeke World. Plus I'll get the wig for Aeris...

I haven't made any major progress on Aya yet, but I'd like to bounce a few ideas around...

 

Her name is inspired, in part, by Aya Brea of Parasite Eve/ 3rd Birthday fame.

Do you think the DDH-02 would work for Aya Brea? There are no PE figures at all, and I've always wanted one of Aya Brea... I'm taking some vacation time in a few weeks, so I'm hoping to do the face-up then. So I guess what I'm asking is should I base it on Aya Brea or do you think I should go with Aya is Aoi's twin sister? (Or there's my original plan of Saber Lily, which was canceled back in November for obvious reasons...)

I like both ideas! You need two new girls. I am just kidding. Can Aoi's twin sister have Aya Brea's personality and look? I think the DDH-02 would work.

LOL! I almost want to do two girls, but I have at least two other DDs to put together, and I'm strongly considering Neris.

 

Given that the bio i wrote for Aya had her as an aspiring actor, she could play Aya Brea, or at least cosplay her. Natsuki would love a cosplay buddy, I'm sure!
