Can't do introductions. orz

I go by the name "Coffee".

Why?

Hell do I know, I don't really like coffee.

I'm more of a tea person.

And as the title says, I'm not very good at introductions.

Anyway, I've been a lurker on this site for a while now, so I thought it was about time I joined.

 

I do not have a Dollfie YET, but I have planned to get my hands on a MDD after Christmas.

 

Anyway, nice to meet y'all.

I look forward to getting to see all your lovely Dollfies as well as just simply becoming a part of the community and learn more about Dollfies in general.

Do you know which MDD you're aiming for? A character doll or an option head? Both are super cute options!!!

But I'm still having my doubts that it will fit good on a MDD-body.

The MDD body is a great choice: is cute, little (they take less place when displayed or stored) and there are many awesome Volks outfit for that kind of body! I have 3 of them and I love them all!!!

Btw, I don't like coffee too XD

Though if I'm not mistaken, I've heard that MDD has some sort of design flaw in their knees that makes them sort of unable to stand up straight.

Is this common or am I way off?

Their knees are weak, and it's harder to get them to stand up than it is a DD, DDdy or DDS body... but, my MDD girl has always stood with not too much fussing. My biggest problem with her is her mid-joint, I have something I'm going to call "Defective Donut" lol... the little ring inside my girl just doesn't hold her together well, so I have to be careful not to pop her in half!!! I haven't heard of other people having this problem though, so maybe I'm just lucky?

Yeah, the bodies are better than the ones Obitsu sell.

I think Obitsu bodies' joints are quite awful.

I actually have plans for an MDD too. A local ( sort of) friend of mine has one I've been able to play with and she also has a tendency to break in half. Despite the flaws, they're simply far too cute to resist. ^^

Haha, damn I just keep hearing more and more flaws with them.

Oh, but I think someone mentioned on this forum somewhere that you can get a kit of kips from Volks to stabilize most of their joints, so it is fixable! of course, at this point I'm just hoping Volks will come out with a MDDII design.

Have you read Chun's tutorial on fixing the instability issue with the MDD body? MDDs can't stand on their own, but there's a fix for it. Visit Chun's site for more information. From there, you can also visit Chibichibiusa’s tutorial on figure.fm.

 

And yes, a SQ Labs head on any Dollfie Dream® body is still considered a "Dollfie Dream" in this community. This statement will remain an opinion until it's confirmed by a mod or the admin.

 

A different and non-humanoid head - say, a horse head or an insect's, is a different story though.

I found it right about when I found out about the knee problem.

And from what I've heard from different people, SQlab heads on DD bodies seems to be on topic. XD
