Changing elbows on the obistu 65 male?

Hello! I recently aquired the obitsu 65cm male body and while I'm happy with his strong joints and his great asthetics I would like to try and hybrid other elbows onto him to make him more double jointed so to speak.

 

Can anyone who owns the 65cm and owns other parabox dolls see if such a hybrid is possible?

 

Initially I was thinking that the obistu 60cm double jointed hinge elbows might fit him bUT I think the connectors may be too wide and short to work.

What do you all think?

I have both, and can give it a try tomorrow, but I am sort of thinking it won't work, because the double elbows require the vinyl upper arm and forearm to be flat on the elbow ends. I think the single jointed 65cm elbows are contoured to fit around the ball.

I've made a new disovery!

After stealing the elbow joints off of my obitsu 50cm Ive found that my 65cm boy can wear them!

The shoulder peg needs some slight sanding so that they fit in better but the 50 cm peanut fits in the arms nicely and allows my doll to be more double jointed and do normal things like touch his face.

I can profile pictures if anyone is intrested!

Some quick photos with flash so you can see the joints close up and the range of motion expected from the upgrade. These photos were taken with the joints wiggled out just a smidgen to maximize the bendage of the elbows.

The elbows are not a perfect fit, they look much slimmer than the ball joint he comes with, and the lip peace in the back just floats in the middle. But this aesthetic does not bother me much as ill be having him in long sleeves soon. I just got him the other day and I don't have any clothes for him as of yet, or a faceup, but im excited to start drafting ideas for those

Now you've got me wondering, would the 50cm knee joints work as elbow joints for the 65cm? They are nearly identical to the elbow joints, only bigger. They might fill out that space a little better.

Something for me to look into this weekend...

That sounds like an intresting idea.

Hmm I'm not sure if it would work for my boy because I've allready Sanded his arm joints to fit the current elbows he has.

And the knee joints look like the connectors are much wider around to fit with his joints.

It may also require hot water or a blow dryer as its too wide to fit into the vinyl forearm.

But it's not entirely impossible, I'm really intrested to see what your results are if you do decide to try it out.

Sooo....what you said actually haunted me. And I just had to give it a try. The 40/50 cm knees do actually fit sorta as elbows.

It just took some hot water and tape to make everything all fit.

The joints are a little large, so his elbows kind of bulge.

But they make his range of movement complete.

He can toutch forearm to shoulder with no gapping and actually toutch his face.

From the front,side, back, and how the new length is comapred to the body.

Sd17 shirts fit perfectly in length to his shoulders arms now that there longer, wich is great for me because the sd13 shirts were super short and tight.

All in all he poses really well now, I would like to get him some Large version dollfie dream hands to make him more mature and proportionate.

Would anyone be able to see of dollfie dream elbows fit the obitsu 65?

Someone I know on instagram was able to fit dollfie dream elbows and wrists on the obitsu 55 body.

I was wondering if anyone who had the 65 boy and had dollfie dreams could take pictures of the arms side by side and mabey even if there daring enough to try to see if the elbows fit inside the arms?

I would like to try it myself but i only have MDDs and the arms are 90$ which im weary to spend on a project that potentially might not work
