finnleo Posted March 27, 2018 Its been a bit quiet for me on this front lately due to various reasons, but finally decided to take a few snaps, with some new mew/old and plain old stuff... The plain old stuff being 'gintou, who got a fresh new wig, and something off mandarake, namely a volks omukae, or "take me home" dress from the SD custom order service, where the title comes from. being a old girl, no crazy poses this time, before I go through the bodies hips and legs and give them a bit of a tune up... The outfit did come with its own shoes also, but they need some TLC namely attention to the deteriorated ankle-straps to be presentable, so my usual army boots had to do for now.. shino113 shino114 shino115 shino116 shino117 shino118 shino119 shino120 shino121 shino122 shino123 shino124 shino125 shino126 Thanks for looking.. finnleo Posted March 28, 2018 Thank you very many... I love that outfit. Now I want one for my Miyu. Mandarake still have a couple of the newer 2012 versions (Kochou 胡蝶 / Butterfly) that have beige/yellow obi's and other accents. and also one of this pink one, the older 2008 (Washo 和装 / "traditional") edition. finding them might require searching the japanese version of the site for "おむかえドレス" (to find the yellow accented ones) or "お迎えドレス" (for the only one pink left) A thing to note is also the SD/SD13 size which means the obi has to be pinned tighter somehow (used a bobby pin for mine), otherwise its way too big. Singer Yuna Posted April 1, 2018 Gintou looks so pure with the Volks outfit, it’s like It’s made specially for her! And she looks like she’s doing tai-chi ^^ The outfit did come with its own shoes also, but they need some TLC namely attention to the deteriorated ankle-straps to be presentable, so my usual army boots had to do for now.. I own the purpleish one and it has the same ankle straps, can you share tips for repairs?
finnleo Posted April 2, 2018 Thanks.. I own the purpleish one and it has the same ankle straps, can you share tips for repairs? I havent really gotten around to them yet, for now I just pulled the deteriorated straps out as best I could with tweezers so there wasnt anything left of them at the sides. they seem to stay on a DD foot rather well even without the clear strap, but maybe I'll add a thin clear thread I found in a sewing store, and tie it to the base of the fabric straps, that will go around the ankle again. Singer Yuna Posted April 3, 2018 Thanks! The clear thread sounds good!
